I will say on the lampard hiring. He seems keen to bring in coaches which will help cover up some of his deficiencies. Also he got sacked in his second season mostly because all the talent that got brought in weren't performing. Still now under Tuchel much of that recruited talent are patchy at best so feels like recruitment there may have been issues
@JamailvanWestering3 жыл бұрын
Not all, Ziyech and Chilwell were doing better under him than under Tuchel. Honestly I think it was more clear that you could see the players he wanted and the players the club wanted
@bentn133 жыл бұрын
@@JamailvanWestering I don't think you can say Chilwell isn't doing excellently now. He's been one of the key players in that wing back system, so much so that his absence, and that of Reece, has made them abandon the system.

I enjoy the "Lampard has a focus on youth" narrative, when he literally had a transfer ban at Chelsea in his first season. And the "Youth" he played was Mason Mount, Reece James and Tammy Abraham. Pretty easy to focus on youth when you can't buy anybody and those are your options.
@jamesmilligan66543 жыл бұрын
And also “how well he did under a transfer ban” when he already had a great squad supplement by an enormous academy. He made players like rudiger and azpilicueta look dreadful when they obviously werent
@areebsiddiqui7583 жыл бұрын
@@jamesmilligan6654 Rudiger is dreadful in a back 4. It was the same under Sarri. That's why Lampard preferred Zouma over him. Rudiger is world class in a back 3 but simply can't do it in a 4. Azpi barely played under Lampard and gets even less game time under Tuchel. He's past his best and doesn't offer much going forward.
@jamesmilligan66543 жыл бұрын
@Areeb Siddiqui I agree that rudiger is much worse in a back 4 but he was certainly better under Sarri, as for Azpi he’s still a solid player and I’ve never seen him look as exposed in defence as he has under lampard
@areebsiddiqui7583 жыл бұрын
@@jamesmilligan6654 Maybe your memory isn't great but Rudiger was awful under Sarri. He's just useless in a back 4. That's why Lampard preferred playing Tomori or Zouma. Azpi was decent under Lampard so I don't know what you're talking about. He just didn't play much cause of Reece James breaking through.

The positive for Utd is that there’s business development to be had. They’re still “the biggest” club in the world - with good helmsmanship, their revenues could be staggering. Why is this good? 2 reasons - the way there is through football results, and secondly means Utd remain an attractive business proposition.

On Darren Fletcher, is it to do with coaching badges? I see on FM 22 He's a B License coach. For your A license you need to be working with a team. Instead of having him drop into the academy system (which might be seen as disruptive or take too much time away from his day to day) they've put him with the Men's 1st team?
@clipclop76413 жыл бұрын
The 'Lampard was a failure at Chelsea' narrative is flat out false. Embedded youth at a club that historically ignored the academy (Mount, James, Gilmour, Hudson-Odoi, Abraham and James); made an FA Cup final; and qualified for the Champions League after losing Hazard and being restricted in the market. Then he dominated the Champions League group which Chelsea went on to win. He is has clear flaws as a manager but hope he succeeds at Everton.
