Shiny Mew is the one shiny Pokemon that I wanted more than any Shiny Pokemon ever. Not only was it one of the hardest shiny Pokemon ever it is also my favorite shiny of all time! Shiny Mew in Pokemon Emerald was only available in an event in 2005 exclusively in Japan! This video is the story of how I was able to get my hands on this Pokemon!

Always great to see a third gen hunt. If you ever wanted to go insane and get a potentially more rare shiny mew, it is possible to get shiny mew without external cheating device in generation one. And if you want a one of a kind, you could do it not on the virtual console but the gameboy color. There are very few who hunt in gen one and even less even attempt a physical cartridge hunt.

The reason I thought about that is cause I lowkey panicked when it transformed into Blaziken cause the starters have generally odd capture rates due to the fact that you never catch them, so I was like "oh boy, that could have been a big mistake", glad it worked out though!

I wouldn´t say it. Let´s look at it. If you wanna have a shiny mythical in HOME, I think Mew IS still the rarest. Why? Mew - only available 3 times, once in Japan (old sea map event), twice in GO for real world money and for very limited time, only one per account, and let´s not forget the research tasks aren´t easy. Also, many GO players don´t play mainline games, so they won´t transfer their Mew to HOME Celebi - you can SR for it now in VC Crystal, and there is also research in Go Jirachi - you can get it from Colosseum Bonus disc, which you can get even now, so technicaly you can get it whenever you want, plus there was research for it in GO Deoxys - one event similar to Mew, but in GO was available in raids, which required no money, no completing research and you could catch multiple Darkrai - wi-fi event for the acces to NewMoon island both in og DP and BDSP, available worldwide Shaimin - the same as Darkrai, but also there was research for it in GO Manaphy - it is still available in Pokemon Ranger, yes, the SR is kinda convoluted in this one, but you can get it whenever you want Arceus - just complete Legends:Arceus and you can SR for it in BDSP Zeraora - was given only once, but all you needed to do was to log into Pokemon Home Other mythicals weren´t released as shiny yet So I would say if you want completely and 100% legitimate shiny, then Mew IS still the rarest one.

If you think about it, completely legit shiny Mew (without using any cheats, glitches or hacks) IS the rarest Pokémon you can have in Pokemon HOME. Let´s look at it. It has to be mythical, because for every other one you can just SR. So, how does it fare? Mew - only available 2 times, and for limited time, once in Emerald and at Japan only at that, and twice in GO, where you have to not only pay actual money, but also complete the research, which isn´t exactly easy. And even then, a lot of GO players don´t play mainline games, so they don´t have Pokemon HOME to transfer it into Celebi - you can get it from Colosseum Bonus disc and SR for it in VC Crystal, plus there is also free research for pokemon GO Deoxys - similarly to the Mew, it had only one Emerald japanese event, and was available in GO for limited time. The difference is that it was in raids, no research or real money required, and you could catch multiples Jirachi - he is still available from Colosseum bonus disc, which you can still buy and SR for it Manaphy - is still available in Pokemon Ranger, and altough the SR process IS very convoluted, you can get it whenever you want with enough patience Darkrai/Shaymin - both had online events where you could simply download their respective tickets via wi-fi, and it was available worldwide, both in DPP AND BDSP Arceus - simply finish Legends:Arceus and you can SR for it Gen 5, 6 and 7 mythicals were never available shiny Zarude was never released as shiny Zeraora was one time released as shiny, but it was worldwide and easy to get - you simply had to log in to Pokemon Home and you got it automaticaly Pecharunt of course wasn´t so far available as shiny So, I think from all of them, shiny Mew is the rarest shiny to have in your Pokemon Home collection

There is a rarer shiny. It’s manaphy as the only game you can get a shiny of it is in Pokémon Ranger you get the manaphy as an egg you get at the VERY end of the end game of Pokémon ranger (you get one per save file). I don’t blame you for not knowing of this since Pokémon ranger is a spin off game.

I think the hardest shiny in the entire series is shiny Manaphy. The only way to get it legit is to get far enough into a spinoff game called Pokemon Ranger to get an egg that contains Manaphy, transfer that egg to a mainline game, and then trade that egg within the mainline game to a different mainline game to avoid the shiny lock. And you can only get one egg per Pokemon Ranger cartridge. Resetting your save data will not get you another Manaphy.

Congratulations on getting Mew! I also hunt and caught shiny mew when x&y was new! Shiny mew I named Blueberry is the reason I started to like shinyhunt and stop hacking shinys. I hack shiny for fun and I never understand the interest in legitshiny thinking it's not worth all the times to find one. Seriously my dumb teenage self found a shiny wild pidgey before the first gym in firered and didn't have it now because I started a new game. 🤦 That when playing pokemon x I finally started to get interest in finding legit shiny after watching pokeTubers founding a shiny Rayquaza from soulsilver , So I decided to do one as well. So the first shiny I hunt is Mew since it's my favorite mythical in childhood when watching Pokemon first movie. Thank goodness for my enjoyment of using cheating in the past I already got gameshark and got emerald from GameStop before it's become rare. So I started my hunt, I also never turned off my gba because emerald's time battery runs dry. I don't know how lucky when encounter later shiny mew over 3 hours! I was so shocked and excited to find it so soon that's when I fully understand the joy of shiny hunting! I caught blueberry in a luxuryball and it becomes my most rarest and favorite shiny. After that I shiny hunt Ho-oh it took 10hr and lugia for 5 days. I send it all to pokemon x so happy at my success! Sadly tragic happens when one of pokemon X random glitches happens causing my saves to get corrupted causes me to lose everything. Losing them hurt so much since my treasured Pokemons I got were with me since the beginning of gen 3 to 5 especially the shadow pokemons I got from GameCube, all the event pokemons , shiny pokemons and blueberry all gone because of that cursed glitch. I was gonna quit finding legit rare pokemon because why care about if one of the future pokemon games bugs destroy all your hard work getting them.😢 After all that lost I decided to push forward and continue playing pokemon again when oras release. After enough healing I decided to once again shiny hunt. When I got a shiny female treeco at my starter in my alpha sapphireit gave me the courage to continues shiny hunting again. After beating the game and get a shiny mesprit I decided to go back shiny hunting my favorite shiny mew again and in my shock I found it in over one hour! After reclaimed Blueberry in a luxuryball I decided to reclaimed all the available shiny legendarys except deoxy since the srs for it doesn't work no more since the all my other pokemon gba games time battery died. So today I got the reclaim shinys and shadow pokemons in pokemon home switch now. Sadly not every past events pokemon. I got 2 shiny mews now planning on shiny hunt a third and get another shiny Mew and shiny celebi from crystal vr since Nintendo announced pokemon bank is gonna to go down soon. I'm glad I didn't gave up that day and now I have favorite shiny mew Blueberry in my team for the pokemon sv dlc, Shiny hunting is so fun until shinylocks ruins it. I miss shiny hunting every catchable legendarys. But hopefully in the future gamefreak lighten up the shinylocks and bring mystical in game without the needs of mystery gifts items but I doubt it. Sorry for my long writing but I wish I record every shiny I encountered in the past but I'm too shy and private person to do videos. But I will forever cherish these memories.😌

I replayed it to reclaim pokemons and available events and quickly removed them to pokemon bank. I enjoyed playing x and had such a fun time in that game with a 999 hr playtime but can't enjoy it any more because of that incident.😞

This is insane! Hey if you want a shiny hunt that rivals this, there's always the Pokemon Ranger Manaphy! I might hunt that someday but probably not. Also unfortunately your shiny Mew can't be transferred to newer games without modification with the Pokemon itself via PKHEX or something since the Old Sea Map was never distributed to non-Japanese copies. I'm sure there's a guide out there if you wanted to do that tho

I had a Faraway regular Mew, and it did not went through at the time of the Release of Bank. I don't know if they changed availability over time, but if you have a non-japanese Mew from Faraway island it should not go through. If it does then it was changed over time. But as far as I know Bank blocks after some criteria. Language and if it was an official Event. Everything else with Cartridge owners Finder will be blocked. It is not that bad. Btw, in Black and White you was unable to offer it in the GTS, but for some odd reason, I was trying to bid my second Faraway Mew with the Nickname Ninis from the Finder GFNONOP (from my 5 year old sisters cartridge) on someones Dialga for fun. I thought I would get an error message, but was surprised and butt hurt, when I found out, that it worked. So this guy named Erdick or something similar was extremely lucky.
