I was able to get my hands on a signed hardcover copy in December but I haven't had the chance to crack it open yet. I'm planning on devoting some time this weekend. I'll edit and update when I have the chance to go over it.

This might sound like a stupid question, but will this ACTUALLY teach you how to perform rituals? I feel like I’m always reading theory instead of actually doing the practice.
@ModernMetaphysicae7 ай бұрын
There are instructions for rituals in this text, yes. :)

What do you think oh this book, The Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage
@ModernMetaphysicae Жыл бұрын
Abramelin is a classic resource for much of modern takes on magick, along with De Occulta Philosophia libri III, or The 3 Books of Occult Philosophy. The provenance of both are shady but hey.

Those one need to be a christan to practice western ceremonial magick? And what can get out of following these practices?
@ModernMetaphysicae3 жыл бұрын
No, you do not need to be Christian to follow or use ceremonial magick. What you get out of it depends on what you put in - just like any other spiritual practice or path.

These spiritual practices are typically condemned by the church

It's not a bad book this one. But it should have been titled An Introduction to Ceremonial Magic, there's nothing complete or comprehensive about it

Is ceremonial magick a religion?
@ModernMetaphysicae2 жыл бұрын
Ceremonial Magick is not a religion. In fact many Christians, Jews, Muslims, Thelemites, Wiccans, and many other religious followers practice forms of ceremonial magick. Its a widely encompassing term used to describe magick or ritual practices that are characterized by ceremony and numerous requisite accessories to aid the practitioner. In general occultism today it usually referees to many of the solomonic based grimoire traditions popularized by the Golden Dawn for example. Though even that is not a definition that does it justice. I hope that answers your question sufficiently.
