Thank you for being there, absolutely relatable to me, I often feel as if I’m stupid but I do know I have the inert drive and ambition to overcome my generational, financial disposition. I’ve experienced poverty, seen my family work to the bone to provide for themselves and for me. I want to change the trajectory of my family, I bought a home three month’s ago, got married last months and just found out two days ago, my wife is pregnant. I want to be the best husband and father I can be, I work a 9-5 Currently but I have $10,000 saved. Fixed interest rate on my home, slowly gaining equity, diversification of investment in stocks and crypto. I want to be financially free and I want to contribute to humanity in the best of ways.

This is why the education system needs to be restructured in this country. Kids need to be learning about real-life, practical subjects like building credit, investing/entrepreneurship, taxes, financial management and even basic things like how to change a tire etc.. Some of the primary subjects that are being taught should be viewed as electives.

@@tmed362 For sure, teaching begins at home. But many parents lack the skills and knowledge to properly do so. I teach my younger siblings what I have spent 40+ years learning on my own, because my parents didn't know this stuff and therefore never taught me about. In order to have a desire to learn it, you must first understand the importance and/or benefit of knowing, but you cannot know what you do not know, and many people do not even try because they convince themselves that they cannot do it, or make significant improvements.
@Gonezowithseanzo2 жыл бұрын
If you leave " teaching" upto schools your children are doomed. I see your point 1000% . However, schools are a part of the debt system. Teaches you to get in debt. Get in debt for new safe car for college. More debt to get through college. Graduate college and play competing with the jones and get a mortgage. Then of course you need the 7 seat SUV for soccer. Next thing you know you realize you just contributed to our debt based system like a good worker bee. You missed a ton of your kids sporting events because of off hours work/ reports , emails. On an on and mid age you get laid off. People do the opposite of the crowd and you'll be fine. How can one expect to be in the top 5 percent earning crowd when your doing what the masses are. Think on your own 2 feet. Follow your thoughts. Develop your shortcomings and max out your talent. Buy multi family and go with subsidized units paid by government which helps less fortunate. Never think a task is beneath you. Invest all of your money wisely (real estate has been incredible to me) stocks are casino. Keep getting your properties paid down . Dont fall into leverage. Maintain at least 50 percent equity position at least... roll up your sleeves and build sweat equity with help from youtube. Next thing you know your cash flowing net 20 or 30 k per month or more and you've built multi generational wealth footing for your kids. REAL EASY AND SLOW AND STEADY IS THE WAY. Good luck on your journey.. believe in yourself and ignore FUD

The answer to giving is simply to decide on a predetermined, monthly or yearly allowance and stick to it. Once the funds are gone, that's it until next month/year etc.. Tell people to come back then. First-come, first-serve. You can break this up even further and allocate a percentage of that allowance to family-only or whatever else that you care about. You can even set limits per person or group to make things fair. By removing yourself from the equation and establishing a system, people tend to complain less and stop making things personal. Just as you allocate a percentage to saving, investing, tithes or whatever, you allocate a percentage to charity.

There are a lot of good gems to unpack here. I especially like the part where Japser speaks about it coming down to mindset. To change my finances for the better, I must change my mindset first.

Great information and interview. Subscribed to both of you now. All of this should be taught in high school just like all major subjects.

Never retire. never never never. Live and love being productive. That's the handbook we need. I must say there are some real gems in this discussion. I've used them for my son to help him beat the challenges and fears he is having about taking on responsibilities. So I realllllllly want to thank you for those tidbits. I'll just repeat that retirement is not the ultimate dream in life. Working is rewarding. Working your whole life should not be seen or taught as something that's miserable. I have so many family members that would have went insane if they did not work work work! lol. Okay, thanks, good people. Find the place where you want to fit and work on being a happy go-getter and put the yummy things on the table and put smiles on the faces of your fellow humans.

This is a beautiful advice, "never retire. Work should not be looked at as a misery" I never thought of it in this way.
