Both of these men are great listeners and great interviewers. So much good content and lessons here. We are all the same at the core. @steven please go and do what Lewis did with his dad, with your parents, before the die. I had a terrible relationship with my dad as a teen and twenty something. I grew to love and appreciate in my 40’s. Sad to say my dad passed a few years ago. Though we had a great relationship at his death, I still wish I took more time to BE with him and better UNDERSTAND and APPRECIATE who he was. As you grow and get older, you will understand and have more appreciation for what I said here. Thank you guys. This was a powerful podcast. I rewound many moments to make sure I understood what was said. Love you both. A true fan of your content.

Lewis and Steven what your talking about is deep ,it's touching me deep inside, it reminds of a Dr Phil Macgraw book that I read back in 2005 called "SELF MATTERS" I didn't know I could be changed by a book like that, it changed me to the core in more ways than words could explain, I mean after reading it and doing the very intense exercises in it,I knew that I was never going to be the same, this conversation your having reminds me of that moment, you what I still have my notes from that book and the book is still in my library, My goodness what a book, Thank you Dr Phil

Lewis, I am one of your fans that watch but never comment on a video.... until this one. I have learned sooo much from the many of people you have interviewed, however, I want to comment on this video. The exchange between the two of you have been so refreshing and authentic that I am grateful that you had this young man on your show. I am a woman hoping to wed a black man and to know first hand (via your podcast) how they view hurt and past and future, I am thankful that you are being faithful in your calling to provide such content. I watched your interview with Jason Wilson, and I have referred his book to several people because we don't know what men, specifically black men, go through on a daily basis. Thank you for your openness and vulnerability. Women like myself are learning a lot so that we can properly love the man we are to wed. Martha is a blessed woman to have found a young man like yourself. Forever a long time listener, Tiara.

THANK YOU!!! Omg I resonate with soo much of this!! I'm also the youngest of 4, and I too asked my parents to split up when I was 12, and I'm so glad they actually did! My mum was the repeating shouter, (no blame of course, it's just trama patterns passed on from her dad and so on and so on...) And I first went to therapy when I was at rock bottom in my early 20s when I had got sober, and then developed bulimia... going to therapy set me on a spiritual awakening path that completely changed my life and it's why do what I do now as a coach. Knowing our own mind is the most important thing we can do, for ourselves and society at large! And I also recently realized my biggest fear is people thinking things that aren't true about me, so thank you also for the discussion on that! I know I'm holding back because of this! I love you both so much, thank you sooo much for being such amazing examples of conscious heart-centered men, you are setting off such powerful catalysts of influence, thank you, thank you! It gives me great hope about the future of humanity to see you two. I would love to see you do more podcasts together.

Lewis, I am just so proud of you. You have no idea . . . The person you are becoming will eventually blow your mind because you are actually committed to going through the viciously hard work of facing those terrors, those ghosts from your past. That therapy piece is CRUCIAL. The fact that you were not afraid to face “the opening and sifting of the dreaded box” (well, you WERE afraid, but did it ANYWAY) is the KEY. I went through something similar, but with a sad ending because the other was not ready to face truths, go through therapy or be accountable. It’s was a devastating loss . . . Half a life really. But I truly feel that continuing to pursue TRUTH, no matter how painful, will still be the best course, for me anyway. I used to say “Once you take the head off of the BEAST, it is dead, dead, dead.” Keep going, keep digging, keep facing the beasts, until they have no more power over you. A better life and more authentic love (even if it is just for yourself) is on the other side of that battle! Great conversation . . . Carry on!⚔️

A person who screams as a means to be heard has not been heard growing up, and usually needs hugs. If that was their way with others. Yhen It's defensive out of fear. I confirm that and I am a changed person because alk through the years, my son listened to me and taught me that its okay to speak softly and I can still be heard. One hug a day with a Mom or sibling, or mate, is survival, two for communicating, three and four to be happier and it shows acceptance. A hug validates and shows we care. Boundaries show we care, and speaking softly and paying attention show we care. Neighbors don't need hugs, but friends sometimes do, but everyone needs a smile, and everyone needs word validation, especially family. Try saying I love you to family all day long. It becomes the polite thing to say and that shows we care. I enjoyed the interview. Our mission should be clear, service to those we love. I like the book The five love languages. Mine is word validation and hearing others voices, and food gifts. Everyone is a little different.

Chills watching this! Did not know Steven's story but admire his strength of character on Dragons Den here in the UK. Could listen to you both all day, please interview him again soon. Got to say it is so refreshing and appreciated how you both talk so openly and vulnerably about your pasts. I'm going to listen to this one again, so much to learn from it. Thanks both 🙌💙💙

Yes it's taken me this long to realize what you did at 1 hr 10 minutes in. I don't know if I would have been driven the way I was but I am happy I finally realized I am enough and I have some time left to do what I truly want for myself no matter what others think. Thank you.
