This was so helpful for me to hear the story of how you got your girlfriend back, and that resolution was "she spoke a different language" and you asked what she likes. 🙏

This was a great interview, the love he has for his woman is beautiful and so sincere they clearly are fortunate to have found each other. I do wish he spoke about his relationship with his mother a bit more and how that affected his relationship to black women. he often speaks about her he say ‘black loud Nigerian woman’. Maybe he didn’t today because he was with a black woman but His characterisation of his mum -particularly in his book - always has negative connotations. I find it hard to believe this didn’t play out in his dating preferences

I don't think the interviewer was at his level here... I just feel like maybe someone like Wumni Bello would have brought out a lot more from him (she's just who kept coming to my mind w this interview). His intervention was very interesting though, I just think she needed a bit more insight on this topic to be able to discuss about it, it sounded like he was teaching her basically

Very interesting - I have always been able to communicate better with my dad about the more personal things. Not really with my mum - when I have tried to bring it up with her, I sense that she mentally shuts down when it comes to conversations pertaining to mental health, psychology, self-improvement... I feel that stems from her childhood, so she has overtime learnt to just leave that valve switched off. So I can only really (and she is more enthusiastic about) speak to her about current affairs, celebrity gossip, tv shows, movies.

Maybe we should stop labelling anxious people " needy"? You are only as needy as your unmet needs ... How about we start calling avoidant neglectful? At the end of the day it's all about communication, being honest about your needs and treat your loved one like you would like to be treated.
