She was trained in ballet jazz tap and ballroom. I'd say a bit too heavy to pursue a career in ballet but the foundations were there in her toprock and were sound. She just didn't have the athleticism to perform the floor moves. Which, we have to admit, have now evolved into contortionist circus acts, perfected by Asian athletes. Hard acts to follow for those of us who do not have those inherent abilities. Another matter to address is the fact that she competed in ballroom, so was known by the ballroom people and possibly still had membership with them. They were the ones who put this Oceania debacle together, and that is no doubt why she became involved. But not in an official capacity. She had her own crew, but from the looks of their clips, they were all at beginner level, bar a couple of the blokes. So that was all the ballroom people had to work with. Independents not interested and not organised for Olympic registration processes. Established crews all professional, so not eligible for the Olympics. So Ragun had to "step up". Sadly though, she is a terrible break dancer, even in other events she has participated in. She just hasn't got it.

@ Interesting and informed comment. I do think Rachel’s ballroom experience helped her score better points in local comps, as the breaking scoring was derived from ballroom. I think this is common, because I was looking at some Zaouli dancers from the Ivory Coast, and dancers are rated on originality, creatively and couldn’t repeat a move - which is the same. Apart from some issues with the qualifier - which I just think were beginner mistakes from the volunteer organisers, female dancers aren’t incentivised. It’s not a lucrative or enticing sport (dance), teenagers can’t afford to go compete without fundraising (whereas Asian countries are investing in the sport) and older women had careers or babies. I think Rachel wasn’t athletic enough and didn’t train enough. Even as she won the qualifier, it was a huge mistake having her husband as coach. Just the wrong person. Errors got reinforced, and there’s no way she trained as hard as the young J-attack.

Raygun has the exact same personality disorder as Mrs Prince Harry. Dramatic body language while saying simple things. Disingenuous smirking while slowly shaking head side to side. Finishing sentences with a long pause looking over her shoulder, as if she wants viewers to admire her side on appearance. Then timing next sentence to finish looking over her other shoulder, for another long pause. Referring to strangers with a familiarity that suggests a long term friendship. Constantly omitting or embellishing her description of events, so she ALWAYS sounds either flawless or a victim. Last but not least, it's always media misinformation if it happens to make her look bad.

Great summary of the situation. Furthermore, Raygun blames "her legal team" and "her management team" like they are completely disconnected from her instructions and totally going rogue. All of their decisions were made at the least with her consultation but more likely, at her instruction. She got famous but without the benefit of money, resources or a lasting talent so she's clawing at any opportunity to cash in before it all fades away. Very poorly played.
