All these people trying to criticize the guy but I don't see their million dollar car cleaning business :thinking: I think I'm gonna trust this guy a bit more than some kid that worked in detailing for a summer.

This man is a genius, charges that much to clean a car and people pay it.good on him.

No two bucket system, washing in sunlight, and doing the wheels last. Amateur hour.

Just so whoever doesn’t know what the British money is in American money. The carnuba wax costs $8,452.26 (about $8,500). Even though at the end the narrator says it’s a $6,000 wax, it’s really what I wrote. The citrus degreaser costs $77. The car he’s washing in the video costs $704,355. To repaint that car he’s washing would cost between $35,000 & $42,000 just to repaint. The wheel gel he uses costs $105 for 5 liters. His customer who owns the GT2 Porsche bought that car for $169,000. The clay bar he uses costs him $28. The ultrasonic depth gauge(s) cost $4,226. The compound he’s using to correct the paintwork for waxing costs him $49 per bottle. Hope that helps you get a better understanding of why his car washes are so expensive. Every product he uses are not cheap.

This Maserati didn't have Paul's £5k wash. For that there's a 61 stage process taking over 60 hours to do. If not for that specialist carnauba wax, it wouldn't of been a 'rich man only' detail at all.

I was actually just going to apply bed liner to my entire vehicle :D. That way I don't have to worry about scratches, mud, corrosion or anything...But that's when I turn my Jeep into a strictly off-road only vehicle, right now it'd my DD and I only do very minor wheeling

Why did he use a 99p shop sponge and do the wheels after the dry and not use 2 buckets for the contact wash?
@msantana10111 жыл бұрын
no one's acting like they know everything, I would figure it would be much easier to wash it in the shade is all. How's Rondo's torn ACL?

1:13, this guy spent $100 on a fucking bucket.
@KhoiBoa8 жыл бұрын
That bucket is made out soft plastic. Won't scratch the paint. Also won't scratch the soap. That would scratch the sponge. That would scratch the paint. Fuckkkkk.

I dont know why, but its fun to watch people watching washing cars.
@jonathanmarshall178711 жыл бұрын
When drying the car, You should use forced air, preferably filterd. It gets all the water out of the cracks, emblems, trim, and mirrors etc. If you do this, you wont have to deal with your DA polishing pads getting wet from drips. Every time you touch with car with a "high tech micro fiber towel" your putting tiny scratches in the clear. Just my 2cents.

@beebs beeb I use a lambs wool mitt to clean my car. Works very well. Used a sponge before I learnt how to properly clean a car.
@DanSVT0311 жыл бұрын
Just do it yourself. Griots Garage sells awesome car care packages with polishes and waxes. It will cost about the same $250 that it would cost to get your car detailed, but the products last, and you can detail your car over and over again with them.
@MsMaxmotivation11 жыл бұрын
I am watching this because I am wondering if I should get my car detailed. I just bought it, it's a BMW , year 2000 executive.. looks nice.. and i think the detailing will make it look even better.. but will cost $250 and they'll work on it for 4 hours lol

Love reading all the criticisms from the so called pro’s. There’s at least 100 companies claiming to be as good or better than him, but he continues to get the business. There’s a reason for that idiots.

lmao the guy used a sponge to wash the car i stopped watching it there he has no clue what he is doing and people go to him because it's expensive and rich people dont buy cheap things.....there are 100000 companies better than him.... lmao
@luxurycondobbmg7 жыл бұрын
so what are you supposed to use to clean a car?
@hardcore44557 жыл бұрын
+myrips2fat, yes a sponge, a Zymol sponge; top of the line FYI. Paul uses the most expensive, and best products in the world. Do you get 5k for a detail? I don't think so. Pay attention to what Paul is doing instead of criticizing him.

sponge and pressure washer.. yeah professional my ass
@mesothorium9 жыл бұрын
I can agree on the sponge, but pressure washer has added a lot to my detailing arsenal. If used correctly, you can lift the dirt off before hand washing, or even negating hand wash all together. Making it almost a touchless clean. So i wonder what your reasoning is behind not using a pressure washer?

Why is he shampooing the car in direct sunlight for the suds to dry up before he even rinses the car, leaving residue...?
@Guitarplayer21910 жыл бұрын
With pH neutral shampoo you can wash in direct sunlight if you wish.
@mesothorium9 жыл бұрын
Captain Cocoa Puffs The pH levels have nothing do with washing your car in the sun or shade. For example, you can perfectly wash your car in the sun in the winter months since the heat from the sun is far less then in summer months. The reason for not washing your car in the sun is that the product would dry up too fast and leaving water marks, Neutral pH or not would still leave these marks. Mainly the minerals in the water combined with the chemicals would/could leave a stain. That is the sole reason.
@bigfishpondhome19 жыл бұрын
mesothorium Considering that he goes over the car with clay after the wash (under cover) I am pretty sure it does not matter. Grow a brain.

Wool mitts scratch more than the sponge he's using. Wool holds the grit and releases them on the paint instead of the grit guard. You should try both instead of being a forum listener/sheep.

Nothing actually wrong with washing car in the sun. It's just most people (even with experience) get watersports if they're not careful. I think he can handle washing it in the sun, if he's spending 5 grand each time... don't act like you know everything...
@chadswood6 жыл бұрын

Well, He is degreasing the car in three stages, and he does use a grit guard. If he wasn't going to do a paint correction, he probably would do it differently. A maintenance wash isn't the same as a pre-polish wash.
