@@paulinechapman9319 True ferals do not want a home, but cats like Cinnabon who were abandoned do. I do TNR and I've had some feral get lose at my house (and at the vet) and they are wild! fly around the room and attack. Some abandoned cats have grown wary of people and take a few months or more to learn to trust. A true adult feral will almost never make a good housecat. My 3rd cat was a TNR stray who lived in front of a convenience store. Dec 2017 he was sick with stomatitis and chased after me crying. I went back the next day with a carrier and he went right in (I was telling myself IF he went in the carrier I would take him). He's my sweetheart now! He cost me a fortune in medical, but he's so loving and appreciative.

I have loved watching this gorgeous kitty's life with you. I am 63 years old and have had the pleasure of caring for many different cats during my lifetime. My 22 year old Russian Blue left a huge hole in my heart, I swore I would never care for another kitty again, but then I agreed to caregive my 11 year old nephew from a foreign country. Well he was hardly here for a few weeks when talk came around to him having a pet to love and care for. We visited a local farm and found our "Smokey" ... a beautiful ginger tom who is now 9 months old and reminds me so much of your precious Cinnabon. Although his Mum & Dad were ferral kitty's - he was born in a ban in a paddock with cows all around - he has tamed nicely but still loves the great outdoors. I adore Cinnabon's ear but am so very sad that he was captured and marked in such a terrible way. Thankfully you were there for him, took him, loved and treasured him, and he clearly is very grateful to you. Trust is everything with our kittys and Cinnabon has come to trust you despite his difficult start in life. Hugs and hisses to you both :)

Hard to believe Cinnabon was ever afraid to let you close, as he obviously adores you now! My cat was a stray too, but unlike Cinnabon my cat jumped right up into my lap as I sat in my van the first time we met! I think she must have belonged to someone, she was so friendly. And she had been spayed too, so someone took her to a vet for that. She does not have a cut ear though, so maybe not a TNR. Perhaps someone just dumped her, though hard to believe because she is such a sweetheart. I've had her almost 7 years now, so I'll never know her back story.

About 15 years ago, in Texas, I adopted a male cat. His left ear had a V-shaped notch cut out of it. When I questioned his rescue mom, she told me that it was a universal sign (that was a fairly new system) of being a neutered cat. I've never had a cat before or since with a notched ear. In fact, I don't think I've even seen one until I saw your Cinnabon. I thought maybe the practice never caught on, or had stopped. But now, with your TNR info, I have learned something new.😊 Thank you for that!! You and Cinnabon keep on giving us great videos. So beautiful and so relaxing!! Love it!!💜

Outdoor cats, called community cats, routinely get TNR here in Palm Beach County, FL. The reason being was that our County animal care and control was getting very tired and sad euthanizing thousands of strays and ferals every year. The cats are returned with a microchip as well, designating their home territories. It has significantly reduced euthanasia over the last 5 years, and this law protects our outdoor friends. Cinnabon is one of the fortunate ones to be able to live in a loving home, and he won't be looking for fights when he goes out. Neutering is a big mellow-outer.

My mom had a feral cat colony living under her back porch. Cats will breed like crazy if you let them. To control the population, we had to let a feral cat organization catch the cats in traps, get them spayed/neutered then released them back into my mom's yard. A few stuck around and actually still live under the porch. She feeds them, but they won't let anyone near them. But at least the population of the cat colony is maintained. Those cats also have had their ears clipped as well.

TNR is one of the best practice to control Cat Population and to stop spreading diseases. Sadly, not all feral cats can be adopted. It took months for Cinnabon to establish rapport with his hooman. Neutering a cat is the best you can do. Thousands of cats/kittens are killed every year in shelters (not mention dogs) because no one adopted them. There are too many 😔.Feral cats have a rough life. No food, human danger, fights for territory etc, etc. Cinnabon is one of the lucky ones, whoever neutered him made him a big favour. We love you Cinnabon and LEX for all his patience and dedication....🐾🧡

Most TNR (the R is for “return”, as the cat should be returned to its colony) are programs by municipalities, rescue/humane groups, or cat mom/dads- not so much hunters! I TNR here in Korea at my local colony, and one of my cats is a TNR former street kitty! When I bring ferals, I also get t HR ‘‘em a round of vaccinations. Not only does TNR prevent feral kittens, but females are less likely to develop cancers, males are less likely to fight. Thus, TNR cats are less likely to get cat diseases spread through fighting and mating! Thanks for helping spread the word, and thanks for being such a great cat dad to Cinnabon.

I'm retired and living on a farm and our nearest neighbor who lives about 3/4 mile gave us two kittens. We put them in our large barn, fed them there and there they stayed. There was a "feral" program going on in our community whereby cats are spay and neutered for piratically no cost. Anyway that's when we learned about the clipped ear thing. That's their badge to roam free. They are very happy living in the barn, with plenty of places to roam, hide in secure places, and lay in ambush for mice. We've seen them asleep on the backs of our sheep! We still feed supplement our two "feral tenets" just in case they are not catching enough mice. Even though they're wild we gave them names - Samson and Susie.

Well, this is very true. But sometime, unfortunately. A cat could have been outside and gotten frostbite in a freezing cold winter...that is just what happened to a pregnant cat I took in....both of her ears are like the cat's in the article here. Frostbite..she is such a sweet cat. I can't imagine enduring that misery all alone freezing with no relief...figuring on her age when i got her. She was about 9 months old when she was freezing outside...not to mention having had a few litters of kittens I'm sure...when I got her she was about 18 months....so don't assume all cats that have ear tips are in a feral cat colony. They may be lost and alone....my little cat will never be cold and hungry again. Plus we moved from Michigan to Nevada. .But her ears are a reminder of what many cats go thru alone...and some feral cats can be tamed...and found a good home...sometimes a lost cat finds a colony and joins in. So be sure to check....

That box is a great "kitty fort/ jungle gym." 😸 Maybe one of the rocks your going to remove from the fire pit will keep it stable. Just put it in the back, at the end. I've always heard TNR w/ the "R" standing for Return, since they are returned to where they were taken from, since they are familiar with the area, so have to return there. There are groups that do TNR, just like there are rescue groups.👍 My little black panther girl, Sammie had also been TNR'd. Cinnabon looks so sweet & snuggly sleeping in that chair on his blanky. I just want to run my fingers through all that soft, fluffy hair. I'd love to wake up with him on the pillow next to me. Such a cutie! 😻💙 We have a lot of pretty birds here in NC. We put out bird seed for them & the squirrels, & keep clean water in our bird feeder for them too. 😊 Its relaxing & nice to watch. (& Sometimes funny, when squirrels chase each other!) 😁 We mostly have large black crows, doves, & Cardnals, as well as some pretty little blue birds. They love to flutter around in the bird bath. 🐦 Occasionally, but not too often, we'll see blue Jays. Then of course there are plenty of Robins, little chick-a-dees, etc... I took a video a couple of months ago of the little blue bird's in the bath. I think there were 5 in there! I sent ot to a friend, & said, "Its looking like Disney over here." 😊 He watched it & said he was just waiting for Snow White to walk by. 😄 Hahahaha!! Last week, we had a lot of Dragonflies flying around, it was pretty cool.

He ran over and peed blood on the Plastic. Even though he was very sick w the UTI, he wasn't going to show me until he could do it without making a mess. A genius of a cat.
