I bough this bike just over a month ago, new. It's my first bike and I love it. One thing I want to say, you may get a 2 year warranty but they want you to service it every 3 months to keep the warranty valid, that's a bit of a joke and personally I chose not to do it. The "pull away" was mentioned and maybe it's because I have no experience with any other bike but I think it pulls away great, every time I'm sat at lights and pull away, I leave every car behind... I love it. I had one issue, with the electrics, when I turned the indicators off, the right indicator would slowly come back on by itself. I stripped the switch down, sprayed it all with WD40 and after just sitting for a minute and moving the switch side to side, it works great, no more issues since. I love the look of the bike, I have the black/red version (do wish I had the blue/white one and I may get it repainted at some point), that aside I do like the look of it and most people who see it think it's a 250cc or higher. All in all, for a first time rider, I love it. Yeah it may be lacking in power but I live in the city and on a CBT I can't go on motorways meaning the fastest road I have been on was a 50mph (I may have hit 60... oops) so why would I need a bike that can do 80 anyway? Edit: The service is not every 3 months, it was 300miles, 900miles, 2400miles and onwards, this may not be too bad but at the speed I am racking up miles, the first 300 miles was one month and I don't ride a lot or very far. 900 miles will be here in about another 4/5 weeks from now... 2 services in 3 months, seems a bit too much to me but like I said, it's my first bike, maybe that is normal.

Thanks for this Tristan, really helpful and I think this is the one. I just a learner rider but been into bikes since i was a little boy. Ive watched a lot of videos on the Venom and seems like a all round decent bike a fairly reliable for me riding to work. You got a overall rating for this bike in the sense of reliability and maintenance in your opinion :)
@TristanTradgedy4 жыл бұрын
@@t0byxspts4m35 Well honestly I have only had it since just before Christmas so I can't speak too much on reliability/maintenance. I did have that indicator issue and today my dad (who was behind me in the car) pointed out that my rear light (not the break light, if you look at images of the rear light you will see that three of the LED's are slightly more orange then the others and these should stay on as a rear light) are currently malfunctioning, they keep going dim and flashing, so this needs looking at. However even combined with the indicator issue I am not not complaining, it is a very cheap bike new (and used) so as long as it's not an expensive fix then I am still ££ ahead of buying a more expensive bike. The indicator issue, though being annoying as it was only a few weeks old, was easy to fix and free for me as I had the maintenance spray sitting around at home. There seems to be plenty of parts around online for this bike if something does break and they are reasonably priced (not that I have much knowledge on bike parts but they seem reasonable to me). One tip, my exhaust started rusting very quickly, maybe because I don't clean it often enough, get some WD40, spray it onto a cloth and lightly coat your exhaust in it (and the rest of the pipe leading to the engine), do this every few weeks, combined with a quick clean it keeps it looking new. The mirrors are one thing I am looking to replace, I am 6'2 so have slightly broader shoulders then most and I have a slight blind spot behind me because of this. If I took my elbow in and lean to the side a bit I can see the blind spot so it is not a massive issue but I could do with wider mirrors, you can get some called Bar End Mirrors which make them wider apart if you are a tall or wide person. I love the handling, again, I have nothing to compare to but when I hit a bend at speed it is such an amazing feeling and as I get more comfortable with the bike, I am having more and more fun. I live in the city centre so I do a lot of slow, stop / start roads and a lot of tight bends etc which it handles fine. Out on the faster roads I push it hard around those corners (I have a past with two wheels, I used to do cross country and down hill mountain biking, I have two videos of that on my channel, so I like to push my machines hard) and any fault is always my own but when I am confident and commit to those corners the thing leans hard and doesn't loose grip at all. Millage seems pretty decent, the tank can hold a fair bit and doesn't cost a lot to refill, from completely empty it cost me £14 to fill. This does bring me to one other thing, the fuel gauge, now I am not complaining because I know a lot of bikes don't even have a fuel gauge but I was out one day, my gauge was showing half full and I suddenly started getting sudden loss of power, turns out I had run out of fuel, so now I always top up when I hit that half way mark on the fuel gauge, once you know, it is not an issue and still better then not having a gauge at all. This is not so much about the bike but just some extra info, I got myself a lextek 32L back box, I had to drill two holes in the rear grab rail (you can buy a luggage rack but if you want to save £27 then two holes in the grab rail works fine) and it fits great which is a huge help. I also bought a phone holder which attached to the mirror and has come in very handy for GPS. Sorry this was so long xD If you have any more questions about this bike, please ask away. Good luck and have fun.

I've got a venom and it's an easy bike to learn. I'm about to do my CBT hopefully by end of this month. I've had a little ride around my back yard on this thing going up and down the lane where no cars come sticking under 20mph. There are two questions I'd like to ask though and they're probably dumb ones too lol 1) Why is it when I'm shifting down gears that I sometimes can't go further than gear 1? What am I doing wrong to not let my bike go in Neutral? The lever to change gear seems loose as if I cannot go down in gear. 2) On the dash at 5:35 why are there two lines there even though the bike is completely off? Does this affect the battery at all?
@Google_Does_Evil_Now Жыл бұрын
Neutral is between 1st and 2nd. Click all the way down to 1st, then half a click up to find neutral. The Green N Neutral light should come on on the dashboard. Down all the way, half a click up. Check for green N light. Always let the clutch lever out carefully, ready to pull it back in just in case the gearbox is stuck in a gear. Some riders, when slowing to a stop will go down through each gear, letting the clutch out and the engine sync to the gearbox, then down another gear, clutch out, clutch in, another gear, until 1st. Then half a click up, neutral. Relax.

The sliders are made of a very hard plastic. I came off mine and they protected the bike well, ground down but didn't shatter. The usb under the rear seat is not a charger, not enough power to charge a phone, its actually for the speaker system. Put some tunes on a USB (mine came with a USB), stick it in and you can play music from the USB.
@spicy1102 жыл бұрын
That is odd, the bike has a 12v system, it should be able to power a 5v 1amp charge. Unless it only has data lines and not power.
@TristanTradgedy2 жыл бұрын
I will have to trace the wires back to see how it's wired up out of interest but when I had my phone plugged into it with a long extension ran to a phone case on the handlebars, it just didn't charge. In all my time with this bike (first time rider), my only real complaint are the electrics. After just a couple of months I had an indicator issue which was resolved easily enough by simply taking the switch apart and spraying everything in WD40. Now the switch on the front brake lever has gone faulty and the brake light is doing odd things, I'm guessing a similar strip down and spray will fix it. Yeah I sometimes wish the top speed of about 65 (68 on a good day) was a bit higher but honestly, I have much more fun on the slower bendy roads then the fast but boring roads. Like you say, handling on this bike is good, not that I have any comparison as a first time rider but I find it extremely fun ride and very responsive. For £1500 new and as a first bike, I really couldn't ask for more, I absolutely love this bike! Couldn't imagine ever selling it. The day I upgrade with be bittersweet!

@Xenro665 жыл бұрын
Spicy, during the intro where you were showing cinematic views of the Venom, did you use a tripod or camera gimbal? I noticed a lot of "micro-shakes", which I assume is from the digital stabiliser not being enough to get the smooth motions you were (probably) trying to get. If not, a 3-axis gimbal for phones can be had for about 100 quid. Quite a lot, but filming anything with it will look buttery smooth.

I have a lexmoto 125 scooter. You can get 70mph if you’re going downhill with full throttle. 😁😂

....sound suspiciously like my Rieju Strada 125
@spicy1105 жыл бұрын
The Rieju strada is the same engine as the lexmoto Zsx-F, Michigan and tempest. The Venom is similar but made in a different factory. Some seem to not full understand how Chinese bikes work. The factories make the bikes and then different companies buy them and then sell them under different names, sometimes with sight changes to design but really it's the same bike. This leads people to say one company is copying the other and the reality is they both just got them from the same manufacturer.

You could put a sandwich under the pillion seat,gear lever iiiiiisssss really off putting

It's not a deal breaker and if it's your only bike you will get used to it. Where I have 2 other bikes and review loads its harder for me to ignore.

@@spicy110 i was thinking of riding to wales on my heavy 125 ybr cystom but i dont think it would make it because of how steep it is, for best mpg because you compared your 600 to 400cc Would you take Derek to wales instead of divi?
