Lexus ES350 Review by an Owner

I have 2021 ES350, I just purchased it. It has 6400 miles. An older couple had it and used their other car mostly. It’s not even broke in yet. I love this car. It is plenty fast for me. I bought it for its ride, comfort and reliability. Great video.

I had a 2017 es350 and I upgraded to a 21 in January of 2021. The 2017 was good but this one is way better. Yeah it’s a little slow off the line compared to other cars but once it gets moving it’s decently quick. I noticed my car felt a lot more responsive and quicker after the break in period and my first oil change. No need to spend almost $50k more for an LS500 because this car is as smooth and spacious as some older LS models. For slightly under $45k it’s a a lot of car for the money… yes some of them go into the $50k range but I don’t need navigation and different rims and few other options like a better stereo that the ultra luxury model comes with. I have the exact spec the KZbinr has in grey on black,mine has the F sport spoiler on the back. Those 18 inch wheels are not standard either. The safety systems saved my ass a few tones already and unlike the 2017 the new model has radar cruise control that works below 30 mph unlike my 2017. Also I’m a big guy,I’m tall and got some weight on me yet I fit comfortably in this car with no back pains while I struggle in the 5 series… I was shocked how small the 5 series felt inside compared to this. Great car and I recommend it to anyone looking for a really comfy daily driver on a budget. Even the previous gen was good but not as roomy. Can’t wait for the next gen,I hope they don’t ruin it like they did with the new RX/NX models or god forbid discontinue the ES like they did with the GS. The Avalon is finito and the ES uses the same platform.. also I really hope they don’t stop using the 3.5 V6… the engine choices on the RX/NX in my opinion is shit.

Toyota and lexus continue using what works. This is why often many features are similar or identical in different toyotas and lexus models. They look dated becuse they keep using what works! This is why they make the most dependable cars available.

The ride smoothness in a newer Lexus is like driving on marshmallows.My dad still has the 2016,and I swear,I can barely feel any bumps on the road.Also the cabin noise is almost non-existent.Lexus folks definitely know what the people want.

Awesome review I also drive a ES350 but mine is a 2019 model and has only 21,056 miles on it. I absolutely love it and it is atomic silver color. I have some videos of it on my channel. I used to have a 2014 IS250 but I sold that and got a 2019 ES350. I eventually want to do some upgrades to it right now it's currently stock. Nice looking ES350 you got as well.

5:15 I actually prefer the "outdated buttons" for features I am going to use everyday. It's ridiculous to have to navigate through menus in my infotainment screen to activate seat warmers or change the temperature of the A/C, like with Tesla. The only issue I have with my 2020 ES350 is that the infotainment and the climate controls are hard to operate without looking. The trackpad is awkward and the climate controls are all in a line so you need to take your eyes off the road to use them.

Thanks for the great review. I heard you say the car "struggles" for power but can you comment on complaints I have heard about the 8 speed transmission being "jerky and hesitating" from a rolling stop? The typical complaint for this 8 speed transmission is when the light turns green while you are still moving at a low speed, you step on the gas, and there is a long delay. Also hesitation while merging onto a highway and harsh downshifts when coming to a stop. If you are used to the performance of a BMW, I'm sure you would have noticed these issues if they were obvious. I know there was a TSB to reprogram the transmission in earlier years, but some owners still report problems in 2021. The Title of your Utube is "2023 Lexus ES350 " but you said it was a 2021.

I have 2021 and honestly it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. I noticed the transmission got a lot better after the car got some miles on it… I think it learns your driving habits and becomes better. The car also got alot more responsive after the break in period and the first oil change… I don’t know if they updated software or not but car feels great. Any 8 speed or 10 speed transmission car will have gear shuffling issues. I think You notice and feel it more cause the car is really smooth and quiet.

And yeah it’s a sluggish off the line. It’s a front wheel drive car and it’s not exactly small. Once it gets going there’s enough horsepower for it to feel decently quick. My younger brother has an older Mercedes e350 and his car is quicker off the line but on the highway we are neck to neck.

You comparing a GSF with a V8 which lacked in power compared to its German rivals to a ES350? Shows you don’t know shit about cars besides googling horsepower. I had a GS350 and this ES has the same amount of horsepower as the GS350. This ES is bigger and more roomy than the GS350 that was discontinued. Two different cars. One was rear wheel drive platform while the ES is front. GSF was commanding nearly $100k. Nobody was buying them. They stopped making the regular GS because sales were low on it. They had to “facelift” it somehow so they added that dumb little change and moved up the screen closer to you. I have 21 that looks exactly like the video only in grey and I have a spoiler on the trunk but no triple beam… I think I needed to get the ultra luxury version for the triple beam and all of them on the lot was over $50k while mine was $45k. Great car,can’t go wrong for the money.

Legroom is plentiful. Headroom is borderline unless you recline the driver's seat considerably. Surprisingly, it doesn't make much difference which sunroof you have. Of course, try before you buy.

I’m 6’3 and 280 lbs. I fit great in the car and have great headroom… I like to sit low too. I couldn’t fit into a 5 series which was shocking to me. Definitely try it out before you buy cause if you like to sit high you might have an issue but other then that it’s really spacious and roomy… even the rear passengers can sit behind me without me having to move my seat up.
