Awesome video with great tips…especially the recommended 12mm ratcheting wrench for the fan nuts. I had some SAE ones but no metric. Grabbed a set from HF that also have a pivoting head so you can adjust your angle. Did this job today on our 2011 with 153K miles with a kit from Gates. Worst part was dropping a socket..had to remove the skid plate. Thanks for the video!!

Thank you for the video! Only one exists on KZbin - I just did mine, i used a hanger to hold on to the fan nut from spinning counter clockwise, while breaking loose the other bolts...i wrapped some electrical tape around the bend of the coat hanger hook, to prevent any damage to the nut. Putting the nuts back on the fan bolt is super tricky, because if they fall, they go on the skid plate...and then its a whole other project to retrieve it. I put a little double sided tape on my 10mm wrench but the nut in and used that to place each nut on the bolt... Note: the belt i took off doesn't look bad at all (63k miles) but it was squealing bad, and squeal went way when i put water or WD40, but only for about 5 min or so.

Great video, I have been looking for one on the gx. Mine just crossed 100k so was planning to replace it soon. Also I am surprised the parts were that reasonable. My Camry tensioner was 300, so this is really reasonable for a Lexus. Thanks

There are several companies that make torque adapters that would probably work to get those fan bolts torqued.

I have a 19 GX 460. Do you think changing your dry belt to 60,000 miles is too early

@@jinheu5119It's a bit early in my opinion, but it wouldn't hurt. I would check the drive belt every oil change (also check for water pump leaks) and only change it if there are cracks. Then change it at 100k regardless
