There is one more helpful trick about the key fob many people don’t know. You can link each key fob to a distinct memory seat setting so that the car can differentiate each driver by the key fob. To do so, after setting up the memory seat, mirror, and steering wheel settings to one of the numbers: with ONE key inside the car, press and hold the memory seat position number on door while simultaneously press and hold the Unlock button until you hear two confirmation beeps.

One other tip that I just found out about. I think it works on 2018 models and up. You can use your fob to remote start your car. President lock 3 times, and hold it on the 3rd press for about 5 seconds. You do need to be in close proximity but there are times when it will come in handy, e.g., do it on a hot day (leave a/c on) and let the car cool down before you enter, same on snow days, assuming heater/defoggers are in. You can clear the snow from your car while it’s warming up and avoid the avalanche falling in when you open the door. I think it will cut off after 10 minutes, and will definitely cut off when you open the door.

Video is great I replace my battery extremely easily. The only problem is key fob won't lock and unlock my car now it is currently starting it I replace it about an hour ago and just checked it still starting so fingers crossed it still work thanks for the video

The induction cooker warning was funny but then I just thought of something. Sometimes I hang my keyfob on an ID necklace which positions the fob right around the middle of my chest. I also have an induction cooktop and I can see now how the fob can may damaged if I wear my ID necklace when I cook. So yeah, that info turned out to be extremely valuable!

Can you have your car locked while it's still running I have a 2010 rx 350 when I hit the lock button to lock it I went back out to my car to check if it's lock and it opens up. I'm not sure if it has the remote start feature, I've tried it once it didn't work or either I didn't do it the right way .....

Do not put my key fob in a pressure cooker, is very good advice ! Thanks for showing battery replacement. You should see some of the videos on YT showing how to test, and change the battery . Jewellers screwdrivers,,, etc. What’s worse is that they don’t show how to start the vehicle when the fob has a dead battery, or someone cleaned the fob in a pressure cooker ! Thanks for clearly demonstrating the simple procedure.

You will need to remove the metal key inside the key fob. Press the button on the side of the key fob that says "press" and then pull key out. Then use the key to open driver's door. Place key fob close to start button and it should start as normal.

If you loose your keyless remote and you don't have another one then you will need to go to the dealership and have a new motherboard installed (expensive). I wish there was another way but that's what has to be done.

I was thinking perhaps they had a number that was registered to the owner of the car it belonged to or something similar to that. I found someone’s key fob and was trying to return it in the wrong hands someone could do that very thing and thieves don’t need any more help taking a car besides that I have no clue how much it cost to replace something like that ultimately I’m just trying to help .

Excellent question! It will recognize the key fob for a while even after the battery doesn't properly work. You will just need to have the battery replaced soon.

Dear Brock, I have a question related to 2016 RX 350 that I recently purchased. I need an advice related to a setting that I am exhausted trying to find. So, whenever I am ready to park my car and I push the ignition (start/stop) button, the music/audio system completely switches off and my steering wheel goes back to default position. This is frustrating because to continue listening to music or talking via bluetooth, I then need to turn back the ignition on. Is there an intermediary step I am missing?? WHy should everything switch off without leaving me an option to simply sit in my car listening to music etc without turning the gas on. Please help!! Thanks much in advance!
