The cool thing about the LC500, you can always look at another car and say "Oh, that's nice!".... and not have a bit of buyer's remorse. All the coupes you listed are amazing.. C8, 911, F-type, and the Benz. The Benz AMG GT looks great but I would get a LC500

I just recently became aware of the Lexus LC 500 and I think it's one of the most incredible cars I've ever seen. With that said it being a Lexus and no turbos is just absolutely off-the-hook incredible. My dream is to get one of these before they go off the market. Preferably brand new. And I might just very well have the opportunity to do that so long as I can find one of these things at a dealership. That's where the problem is, is finding a unicorn. I love how you do 2k rpms in the LC in comfort mode and its already screaming ,i truly understand the way you feel about that car .BTW you said you usually drift that car? I've now finished watching all this video and it is one of the most sensible car videos on KZbin. You are so right. Having been away from Lexus F products for three years and owning an AMG, I am seriously now looking at getting an LC. It's not all about power. Having said that, off the line, I'd put my money on the Lexus - traction is so much better than an AMG's. When it comes to the twisty roads..... same again, the Lexus

The amg gt goes 0-60 a whole second quicker than the lexus. And for handling... the lexus weighs 3-400kg (850lbs) more than the amg and rides on 21 inch wheels + runflats!

As a former Z enthusiast (3 variants), I just purchased the LC500 2024 edition as my new Z. Some months ago, I had purchased a 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF as my next Z and found it to be an excellent sports/luxury car blend that is very enjoyable to own and drive. The MX-5 is in the 5 generation and is well refined and very well engineered/evolved. I can recommend the MX-5 as the best sports car for the price point ($30-40K) new. I had in years past, previously reviewed and liked the LC500 but was annoyed by the electronics in the platform. And to my surprise, Lexus Corporate listened to the market and updated the infotainment for 2024. So the Miata is now going to find a new home and the LC500 has earned a spot in the garage. Having owned and driven many vehicles over my baby boomer life, the LC500 is the penultimate Lexus blend of GT/LS art/engineering and is actually priced well, with respect to the competition. I appreciate your review and agree with many of your comments. Stay safe and happy driving!

I had my eye on the new 2924 AMG GT, and that car is sooo beautiful, but I am worried about the long term reliability. I always looked down on the LC500, but after looking at one in Lexus dealership while servicing my wife's GX, it is growing on me. I did more research, and this car is almost hand built and one day might become a collector. I am tempted on submitting an order for an LC 500 Bestook edition with Mica blue exterior.

The RC 350 F sport is such a phenomenal car along with the IS 350 and GS 350 F sports. That V6 is a gem and I find it to be perfect to wring out on the streets has character too. Yea Derrick sorry to hear about that ticket but doing 10-15 over is a breeze in these Lexus cars, AMG GT would be flying with all that twin turbo power just too much 😆

Yea my friend they are almost never compared especially since the LC is just not an accepted vehicle by the car society even tho I can go on and on about how solid it is and fun it is on a street, reality is it doesn't have any of the 0-60 numbers or other specs that get people giddy about it. People just think it's heavy and it's merely a cruiser

It’s clear you love your LC, but you were quite balanced with the Benz. This review is quite useful because you highlighted the pros and cons of each. As you suggest, in the end, if you want an unapologetic big beast, get the Benz,. If you want something more everyday car with a luxo touch, and a great sounding NAV8, get the Lexus. I think the buyer of an LC is more likely to be thinking about a slightly used M8 or the S Coupe. You started to compare the latter, but if you could review the three side by side, I’m sure you’d do a great job.

i went and saw your S class comparison,. Well done. I like the way you compare cars in a similar price range like a slightly used S coupe or Amg gt with a new LC. That’s the right comparison. Otherwise , it´s hardly useful to compare a 110k car with a 170 k dollar one. So I commend you for that and I also commend you for being forthright right up front that you own an LC and love it.....so your bias is right out in the open. Somewhat surprisingly, the LC can take on those other cars even if they are new, but it´s not so surprising when you get in an LC and drive it. I have a six year old SL....love it and all that, and I’m not a retired dentist in Florida. But this LC is in a class of its own and apparently it´s taking a while for the market to catch on. And that´s fine. Two months ago I would have never even dreamed of buying a Lexus. But after seeing you rreview and a few others, I went to the dealer and drove it. What you say seems spot on. I ordered the convertible yesterday. Hope I dońt have to wait 4 months till it arrives.

I've noticed LC sales picked up a little bit when the mainstream reviewers started rubbing themselves to it last year but as a whole, cars like this are on its way out and most don't want an Eastern branded car at this price, they need Euros and specs. When i mention to people i own a lexus there response is wow you have gone up market very nice, but if i mention acura they don't no what it is until i explain the brand to them , so it goes to show that lexus is really established as a prestige luxury brand. Lexus also has great resale value as well. I must ad that i am not a lexus fanboy i like mercedes and other brands as well , most prestige brands are desirable. All brands have strengths and weaknesses, so its horses for courses.

Totally agree with the review. I've owned an IS-F, an RC-F and driven several LC500s. I currently drive a C63 (bi turbo). Definitely a wild ride in comparison to the LC500 Build quality wise, Mercedes is dire. Lexus is amazing.

Man how wide that gts is!!! I love both!! Lc500 is an amazing looking and sounding car, I just wish it came supercharged or twinturbo, it would be that much more amazing having 550-600hp with plenty of tuning abilities, I know it’s it a gt cruiser, but I’m really on the edge on picking one up as a nice weekend cruiser! Gts I sat in was the convertible in which I couldn’t fit at all!! I’m 6”6 245lbs!! So the salesman sold me I have a better chance with the coupe and not the convertible.

test the bentley contintenal vs the lexus

I really wanted to do a vs between the F12 and LC but I feel like the crazy V12 is also another motor that just can't be exploited properly on the street Bentley with Twin Turbo W12 is probably the same

Let's imagine this MB car was reliable and not totally ugly. Let's imagine the MB had enough horsepower for the real world and was appointed beautifully on the inside. Well, son of a gun...now it's beginning to sound like an LC 500 more and more. Unfortunately, the design studio at MB can't design a good looking, reliable car if their butts depended on it. What they can do is slap on a turbo, destined to break, and make so much horsepower that it will put your life in danger. For the life of me, it's hard to believe anybody would buy anything made in Germany. Whether it be a P, B, M, V or an A, all of them are money pits. You will find that out within two years of your purchase. But, the cool thing about human beings is we're not all alike. Some of us are total morons and morons love cars that break. So, the way it works out is there are cars that break available for morons. See how perfect that is? Some of the other high horsepower useless cars will always be available on used car lots with about 5,000 miles or less on the odometer. Usually young, stupid guys think such and such a car will make them happy and they soon find out what we smart people already know. For instance, do you lust for a McLaren? Go buy one and watch it disintegrate as you leave the lot. Chances are, if you make it home, it will be in need of repair. This reviewer is my kind of reviewer. He's smart and sensible. He realizes, as do I, that we all live in the real world. The basic idea is "don't get dead". That's job number one. Your best chance of doing that is to avoid cars built to kill you. The LC 500 is designed to get you where you want to go safely, reliably and in total comfort while looking fantastic inside and out. My advice to everyone is...if you can find a better car than the Lexus LC 500 - go buy it.

Twin turbos are expensive to maintain and Mercedes is one of the most expensive cars to maintain to begin with. LC's don't break. The AMG GT weighs about 1300 pounds less than the LC 500 and yet it's only marginally faster from 0-60. It's also a very UGLY, UGLY car from every angle. The interior looks like it belongs in a strip club with pole dancers. So, of course if you're a knucklehead and believe the hype about German cars, you'll want to buy this one...because that's what Mercedes counts on. Ah yes, German engineering is wonderful and with all that money you will spend, you will get cheap plastic relays, sensors and other critical parts...all horribly expensive to replace. To me, there is no comparison anywhere in the world to the LC 500 if you live in the real world of motoring on public roads. However, I wouldn't want it any other way and people should be free to choose what they prefer. Great review again, bro'. I still love my 2018 without the performance package. It's an awesome car.

To your point please go to the website of this Mercedes dealership Hoffman Mercedes in Chicago. They have listed over 15 2022 SL 63 AMG as a lemon. I am not joking please check it out. The original sticker price for these SL AMGs were between 190-$200k, and they are selling them as a lemon buyback for 120-$130k. That is when I said to myself if I spend that much money on a car that is so unreliable. No way.

Great review but the Lexus drives like a marshmallow on steroids. There is ABSOLULY no comparison whatsoever between these two vehicles. When I see the Lexus on the road I just assume it's being driven by a retiree. I don't care how you dress it up.
