I bought one of these a month ago and I love it. Serves me well and great economy for a large SUV.

Hi Bob and other Chaps, I am thinking to Buy either Lexus NX300h or Bmw X4 20d. My main concern apart from design and interior quality is reliability and maintenance cost. I have done a research and i know bmw is not as reliable as lexus but it may differ from model to model.In addition, I am not such a person to change my car every three years. May i have your opinion please? are Bmw diesel are as reliable as lexus. which is best value for the money?. sorry for long message.
@fikofikret15222 жыл бұрын
I dont know what u have decided but lexus is more reliable and way cheaper with a better total cost of ownership.
@zureai Жыл бұрын
Certain bmws are more reliable than others yes. Bmws are just expensive to maintain. When something does go wrong, it's costly. Especially if you don't do your own labour. But if you can work on it yourself, then it's OK. Just regular maintenance. Whereas Lexus can take that abuse. If you're not up to maintenance, it'll still run. And if it does break, it won't cost as much.

Hydrogen cars are the answer, not hybrids or Evs. Look at the Toyota Mirrai and the Hyundai Ix35 fuel cell.

Hydrogen is an energy carrier - what energy will you produce it with?
@toyotaprius799 жыл бұрын
Aaah. There, at 5.00 As much as I agree with that and as much clearly don't hate hybrids as you can see, Lexus and Toyota do certainly don't see that image so well. I must say that since 2011, Toyota and Lexus have been very disappointing. All they've done is blown the populist, PR horn that is for everything hydrogen while getting any attempt to smear anything with a plug. Don't think that the Mirai would be making mass production very soon, or in its first year. Neither should we expect it to ever come here! Toyota hasn't even bothered selling the plug-in Prius here! In fact, hybrids hold no incredible for the Irish branch of Toyota/Lexus. They're commonly sold with luxury in mind (only one high spec for the Prius), no base option to sell in numbers. To be honest, the Nissan LEAF outsells the Prius here every month, by a wide margin.

Actually toyota sells the most the cars in the world and since they sell mostly hybrid we can easily say it was the biggest succes toyota had. And still hybrids will be a long time with us.

but currently there are not EV/PHEV/Hybird cars on the market which are suitable for people with normal budgets (without looking like a wierdo in a twizy)
@oliviersourie2809 жыл бұрын
Yes there is: look at the Nissan Leaf (with battery lease) or a second hand Leaf (battery included)...
@toyotaprius799 жыл бұрын
Jonathon Churchill Last time I checked, a base Nissan LEAF can be bought for the same cash as a base VW Golf with a 1.6l TDI BlueMotion. Roughly €25000, the LEAF costs that without the €5000 grant that's made to help those with normal budgets to afford an EV.
@Mr-Curious9 жыл бұрын
Olivier Sourie The leaf is a very nice fun car to drive. It still lacks usable range. It needs a range of 200 km at highway speeds. The leaf is just too expensive for what it offers. You are buying a comprimised car. The leaf can`t do what a 8000 new car can do. But i have to admit electric cars are so much fun to drive.
@jonathonjchurchill9 жыл бұрын
when you've only got £4000 to spend on your first car - there is no hope for a decent EV. You need more like £30,000 which isnt possible for me
@fikofikret15222 жыл бұрын
@@oliviersourie280 nissan leaf is like one of the worst ev's out there. With a range of 150km its nothing

Only place you'll ever see a hybrid of this size is parked outside D4 gated residence's along side BMW 5 crossovers. Illogical to own as a hybrid. Pointless even. Cars like this are a contradiction in terms.
