These tools have been on the market for a while. It's worth the extra $$ to buy one that spans all brands and has bi-directional bluetooth so you can have the dongle plugged into the OBD port and the computer with you anywhere around the vehicle. I started with a Launch and moved to an Autel with TPMS capability. I will say that TPMS is a bit overkill but it's nice having a built in activator, I can read all 4 sensors to the device then upload the latest location configuration all in one shot after a tire rotation. My wife didn't understand value of this device until I rolled down a window from outside of the car!

@@drewd8697 If you’re imagining doing all your car diagnostic and fixes with your laptop within reach then that’s fine but I can bring my scanner everywhere I go and use it at a moments notice. There’s no way I’m storing my $3000 laptop in my truck to go on a 4 day camping trip in the middle of the forest. Left side cargo area compartment has a perfect storage for your scanner.

That i'm not sure of...1. Because i've never come across that issue and 2. I haven't gone thru the scanner options to mimic that issue. The good news is you have 30 days to play around with all of its functions per Amazon return/refund policy.

@GXBOB I wonder if it can do the stuff the dealer would normally do for you - not sure what they are called - but settings like if the unlock door button unlocks just drivers door or all doors . Sir, this X431 Toyota does not support duplicating key fobs, and currently only supports the key programming feature for keys prior to 2010.

Sir, Launch x431 Toyota supports diagnostics for the 2021 GX460 vehicle if it is not modified. (OBD2 interface supported) Also, if the 2021 GX460 itself is not an OBD2 interface, x431 Toyota does not support diagnostics.

i have been thinking about one of these but with each review i see it seems like my 02 camry will not have all the features your '17 does. tho i like the graph and the price, i question whether its going to really tell me any mor than my basic think 100 will - fuel trims, ectº, etc... do you know how compatible it is with a 22 yr old camry? point being is that theres going to be more need for a good scanner the older the vehicle is getting more DIY maintenance and repair. any thoughts? thanks

Whether you're driving a 2017 Lexus GX460 or a 2002 Toyota Camry, our vehicles are full of sensors that are seen, read, and activated through the OBD2 ports in both our vehicles. Your 22 year old car is no exception to the reach and ability of newer scanners loaded w/ options you don't find in older inexpensive scanners. Do me a favor. Buy the scanner, hook it up, and play with it for an entire 29 days and figure out what you can do and what you can't do. Even if you don't have an engine light code on your dashboard, you can still use the bi-directional ability of this scanner to play with all your actuators/motors in your vehicle. Test it out. If you find out that your old scanner is good enough, then return the product to Amazon and get a full refund. I can't help you more than just recommend going that route because i don't have a 22 year old Camry to demonstrate the scanner's benefits. But i can assure you that most cheaper scanners don't read automatic transmission oil temperatures. That's a huge one that pushed me to give this scanner a try. @@deldeek Google it and it’ll direct you straight to Clublexus forums. There’s a lot of answers there for you. My issue was with the secondary injection pump and EGR valve that needed replacing in which I have videos for but that’s only a start to figuring out what your issue is.

@@prestonwatts7179 Hello, sir. The previous version did have support for the TPMS reset feature, so there was a description of support for this feature inside the details. However, considering that Toyota vehicles come with tire pressure sensors, this feature has been split into a separate retail component and needs to be paired with the 5011E Tire Pressure Device to use the TPMS Reset feature separately. We have sent the issue back to Product Operations and the new details will remove the TPMS reset feature.☺
