The Grand Highlander also has 5,000lb towing for the hybrid max and base turbo gas/350 engine… only one that doesn’t is the CVT hybrid mid trim that has 3500lbs..but that gets 35ish mpg on regular gas! You really are solid for choices in the Toyota family in this category. I like the sound and power of the GH hybrid max for slightly less than 350TX with less power, price delta with 500h is too big to justify IMO; but the rear steering and adaptive damper somewhat justify the price increase-but does one NEED that is a 3 row family SUV. I’d imagine people coming from Germans (Audi merc bmw) may say yes.

For me if I want a lux 3 row in this price range the MDX Advanced or Type S just seems to be better value. Yes not as much space and some weird tech choices but does 85% of the family thing with more personality
@cbotten106
@cbotten106 8 ай бұрын
If you want to put full-sized humans in the third row that is not really a viable option. The MDX Type S dynamically is a whole different animal though.

You guys are the best duo in the industry and its a pleasure watching you as usual. In this category the more spacious and comfortable rear seats, storage, luggage space and towing would be ideal for a growing family. The additional Lexus dealership experience and Toyota reliability would be a no-brainer for me. Lexus owners tend to prefer conservation styling and a less-is-more approach to luxury and these cars deliver that.

I want a Grand Highlander; but I have to wait forever to get one! Not to mention the dealer markup! That is a total BS! That is why I order a TX 350. Good reliability and good service are worth extra money to me. This will be my second Lexus.

We drove a Honda Pilot and a Grand Highlande. The dealer told us the GH hybrid was going to be 5k over msrp so we figured well heck lets just go drive a lexus then. The ride quality sold us. We're spending more money for a non hybrid car but I think were ready to be comfortable.

It's quiet, silent, reliable, large suv subtle luxury. It's not asking for any rave. If you like it, buy it. If not buy something else. Who cares what others think. This is the one I choose. LOL>

I love the fact that it is not a Merc or Beamer. Buying a TX would be money well spent IMO. This is reliability and functionality one step above mainstream, which is all I’d want. If I want a sports car, there are better options. If I want style, I’d go Volvo or Rivian. I’m totally digging the TX. The 500H is actually a good effort in trying to make it a little more interesting. I’d probably go 350 and save myself 10k though.

Not that I am in the market, but I would really appreciate if you guys would take the time, especially in 3 rows, to take the time to ride in the 2nd and 3rd rows and give your thoughts. I have heard that the suspension set up on many of these, Rivian, TX on lower trims, Grand Highlander and many others can be atrocious for back passengers.

FWIW, I'm a big guy - 6'5 and stout - and even in the biggest Lexus and in the first row, I am uncomfortable. Toyota's engineers don't understand 'Merica. Some of their less-than-biggest SUV's are drivable for me but only the Tundra/Sequoia is one I would tolerate for more than a few days of renting. Highlander, can drive but like a sardine. RAV4, can't drive but can ride (uncomfortably) in passenger seat. Anything smaller than that, including all coupes and sedans, I can't even get into. I sat in a convertible LC500 at the last LA Auto Show and the top of the windshield was about even with my mustache.

See the problem is and the reason why lexus im sure would love to go all out on every one of their vehicle's but cant is...they simply know its not a smart move being tht everyone loves to compare Lexus to every toyota...Lexus for 30+ years was toyotas final form globally...now according to recent news...toyotas new global final form will be Century...yes century has been around but only in Japanese market...i say all tht to say this... u dont compare goku to super saiyan u just know who is the better of the 2...and now when century begins global sales... century would be like ultra instinct...none the less...great video...subscribing.
