Good review. Definitely, the RCF. It is crazy how people tend to diminish the difference as I drive both cars on the track in a Lexus event. RCF runs laps the LC500 and LC500 is not meant for it. It overheats, rolls and drags the front wheels excessively under roll when you start pushing and transmission car go into limp mode abruptly. The 400 - 500 lbs weight difference and the RCF being much smaller size and shorter wheelbase makes it feel so much faster everywhere. The LC500 is amazing on the streets and RCF does not justify it unless you really start taking the cars over 6/10th where RCF is in a league of is own
@sly9263Ай бұрын
The issue is that the RC F track edition is grossly overpriced for it's performance. There isn't anywhere close to $33,000 in performance (or design) value stepping up from the base RC F to the track edition. In any other car you'd be getting forced induction with a 15-20% horsepower increase for that kind of money, or more. The track edition, in truth, is more of a fanboy and collector's car. Anyone who wants a track worthy vehicle with a $100,000 budget is not looking at this RC F- it's not even in the top 10 at that pricepoint and there's numerous $80k vehicles or below that vastly outperform it for the same purpose. The LC500 as you said, isn't designed for the track but fills the role of a sporty luxury cruiser- you can see value in the unique design both inside and out, as well as the ride quality and general comfort. The LC500 transmission is vastly superior and more responsive than the RC F's and I never understood why they didn't offer it for the RC. The RC F track edition doesn't excel in either role of being a high end performance vehicle or a luxury cruiser. If anything, the regular RC F is a nice, sporty luxury cruiser at an acceptable pricepoint for those who can't afford the LC500.

LC500 is an amazing grand touring halo car that is decently quick and somewhat sporty, but I would not call it a beast with lots of real world experience. It is not what the car is meant to be. A great luxury grand tourer, but at 4400 lbs, it is more of a 13s car.

RCF all the way. Driven both in the track in the Lexus performance event. No comparison. RCF does everything much better as a performance car except stock sound. However, LC500 is the better luxury street car. It is not about the numbers, but how they feel. RCF feels much sharper and precise while the LC500 feels very soft, squishy,vague and floaty at times when you push them beyond 6/10th

The LC500 is built on the LS500 chassis. The RC-F is based on the IS250/350/500 chassis. Very different vehicles.
@BrosFOURRSpeedАй бұрын
Yeah of course. Still fun to see how they stack up both being a V8 performance model from Lexus
@2ZZGE100Ай бұрын
RCF has its own chassis. It does not share with the IS and I own both an RCF and a 2019 IS350 F-Sport. The RCF chassis is a lot stiffer and is shorter wheelbase while being wider. The RCF chassis was originally created to form the basis of the RCF GT3 cars, which is why they did not simply make a two door version of the 3IS platform
@salimrandallАй бұрын
@@2ZZGE100 RCF does not have a designated chassis. 2/3 IS and 1/3 GS to be specific. LC500 is on the LS500 chassis. I don’t care what you own these are the facts.
@2ZZGE100Ай бұрын
@salimrandall That sounds more accurate now. I own both a 2019 IS350 F-Sport and a 2016 RCF CF/TVD. RCF chassis code is a unique chassis code called UC with the unibody is designed from the 4GS, 3IS and IS-C platforms and the monocoque is shared with the RCF GT3. The LC500 uses a shorter version of luxury platform of the GA-L platform of the LS500. For the brief history of RCF development Lexus need to build a high performance chassis without having to build something from scratch. That is why the front part is strengthened and more rigid version of the 4GS for wider track and long hood, the middle portion is from the IS-C convertible to have a very rigid core and short wheelbase and the rear section from the 3IS for a compact rear section, but RCF has it own rear subframe and it's own suspension not shared then with the base RC.

The LC is the ultimate cruiser and its own vibe. You get the F car for doing that and track duty. Same heart but only one will perform much higher around the track and eventually lap the other car.
