Abraham, you never cease to surprise me with your initiatives... May I suggest that you add some strobe LED lights to some of those airplanes I've seen around in your workplace? I'd do if I had your methodical devotion & refined, technical skills. Just don't forget to make a video out of it - and send me the link! Cheers!

As a matter of fact I do have an airplane with many added options. Problem is that I am too busy to work on it. I will do a video on job done so far. It is a major project on a tiny model.

Having read through the rest of the posts I have a few further thoughts and comments. The one pictured is a sounddock 1A which uses firewire 12v to charge early ipods. On all the Bose 1A I've checked this is nearer to 17v and I have no idea why. For 1A if you place a 390kohm resistor in series with the switch shown in the video this reduces this voltage down to around 3.3v which is required to switch on the sounddock and is much safer. For sounddock 1B this uses 5v to charge later ipods and the apple pin notation between the firewire 12v and 5v are different (1B does not provide a firewire voltage). If you connect the switch shown in this video between the 5v rail and the 3.3v switch on rail with a 6.75kohm resistor in series to bring the voltage down to 3.3v then this video is along the same lines although you can also use the 5v charging voltage to power the bluetooth module. The Bose dock pin numbers are different between apple and Bose and can cause confusion.

Great info,if you are already using a bluetooth adapter made for the bose 30pin,why would you need to make it 5v then? The adapter should handle the 16v from the start?

Good morning Thank you very much for the great contribution. I have a question, will it be possible to take the 18 v directly from the power supply connector instead of taking it from the 30-pin connector card? Thanks a lot

Very nice gov To get rid of that noise u need to a dc to dc 5 to 5 volt isolation power supply converter module u can find on ebay for a 1£ or a buck

Nice info, but you really have to get to the point in your videos.

If you just need aux in without bluetooth, so don't need voltage converter, but only need on/off switch, so dock amplifier can work, is that right.

Hi I have a type B sounddock series I with faulty docking board. How can I hack the main board for aux input. I mean can I use this without that docking board? Unit power on with beep sound without the docking board. But when I connect the docking board connector ribbon, its with shhhh sound

Hello thanks for your explenation how it works . I have a question ? i found a companion 3 but there is not a cable for feed do you now how manny volts its use and there are 4 pins wich are foor voltage thanks for your help

Iaw the apple pin notation pin 18 from the ipod provides 3.3v which Bose use to switch on the sounddock. By connecting the switch as shown in the video instead of 3.3v switch on volts nearly 17v (firewire voltage) is used in my view this is far too high and likely to cause long term damage.

¡Excelente información... ¿Puede indicarme en cuáles pines está conectado el interruptor de encendido y apagado? Quiero hacer lo mismo. Gracias.

buy the item direct and plug in and it works. No need to open up and solder the wires.

you can buy a 30 pin blootooth adapter online

Excellent! Why not see if you can eliminate noise with Bluetooth (better device, or shielding cable or???). Thanks, this can be a real RRR win!
@Mac1PC4 жыл бұрын
its a cheap bluetooth device that has the feedback. Not shielding. Better bluetooth device would fix the problem.
@uliseslay243 жыл бұрын
@@Mac1PC could also be power supply noise from the 5v converter coupled through ground loop. Maybe try an old school audio isolation transformer in between the audio out of the Bluetooth and the input to the Bose. Great detective work.

Bit late but I'll share this. Pin 12 is audio ground, pin 13 is right and pin 14 is left. On 3.5mm jack the top section is left the middle right and bottom is ground. Pin 19 and 20 needs be connected to turn series 1A on. Some use 2k resistor but someone on comments called Paul mentioned to use 290k resistor. so far I'm still confused how to fix this issue without spending.
@JohannSwart_JWS4 жыл бұрын
Impossible to follow because of your excruciatingly slow presentation. Just get to the point already! Further, you get noise because you have to use co-ax cable for all signal inputs. That's what they are made for.
@scottvance743 жыл бұрын
TDMA noise could be coming from the BT itself (i.e. the radiation). It could be a number of other things as well (including noise on the power supply line). I think you would have to do some hands-on trouble shooting to determine the exact source.

Nothing wrong with thinkering. But calling it money saving is a lie. If you count your time, you can buy 3 new such things.
