Very interesting video Archie, I think overall Leyla was a good person, her universal peace message, and that war should be outlawed and everything should be worked out through negotiations is a top notch message, and something I wish all nations could agree on. It was rather puzzling though about the Putin poster she was holding though, they had probably worked on her and forced her to show support to the “ regime “ as an extra symbol of strength etc , I don’t trust Russian government at all.

Unfortunately, teachers, doctors and all public sector employees in Russia are absolutely dependent on the government. It’s a shame, but it was they who helped Putin stay in power for so many years by falsifying election results. And now they are feeding children propaganda. I don't mean this woman, but it is simply impossible for an honest person to work in a public school.

24:25. The 15 deadliest mountains in the world. (Source internet) Measure is the fatalities per 100 climbers. No absolute number 1. Annapurna 32 per 100 2. and 3. Manga Parbat and K2 with 22 to 23 per 1oo 4. Dhaulagiri 16 deaths per 100 climbs follow peaks in the Himalaya region... Nepal, Pakistan, China... 9. Deadliest peak Mount Denali USA with 9% mortality rate (the deadliest weather ever met) 14. Mount Huascarán in Peru.. 8% 15. Mount Everest. with 6,5% fatality rate Noticing that the Fatality rate is often closely related to the risk of avalanche, rock fall, crevasses and weather, more than the technical challenges posed, with the exception of some peaks like K2 and Annapurna This comment about the 47 fatalities of mount Elbrus is surely sad but is a non sense as to the mountaineering risks measured accurately.

"Her call to peace never reached its intended ears" I don't understand why or how anyone thinks this video of her call to peace would've had the smallest amount of impact on warring countries. No leader is going to say, oh let's stop fighting because this woman decided to climb a mountain and record a video. It makes no sense. Her own want and need to summit the mountain covered up by a so called call to peace.

The political statements regarding Russian politics severely shortsighted. Re: Ukraine, the Kiev govt spent 8+ years bombing the Donbas killing countless Russian speaking Ukrainians. This was done with NATO assistance that continues today.

Why Donbas is Donbas in the first place? Its legitimate part of Ukraine that only became rival under Putin’s funding. Also check the numbers of killed over the last years before the war its not big at all. On the other hand, Russia does not let Chechnya leave although everyone aware Chechen ppl wanted independence but instead of blaming Russia for not letting them leave you guys made a war and killed - how many?

@@Mountainhikers55 war is terrible for both sides, the goal is to make it worse for one side than the other. There has been war since 2014. Russia has done similar during their first push of their special military operations. And even before that the occupation of Crimea. War is not meant to be viewed as a team based spectator sport. Putin’s interests lie in rebuilding imperialist Russia, reclaiming the lands that are “historically Russian” in his own words. The rest of the world doesn’t want that so much, thus you have the situation you see now.
