(Sigh) Umm.. Okay. I've been staring at my keyboard trying to figure out how I'm going to articulate my thoughts without my comment being as long as a novel. I knew the Leafs were going to lose before the game ever started. The team came out behind the bagpipes all looking like "we're the bad guys". The look on Dominic Moore's face said it all when they were lined up for the anthems. (Not to mention, they had just played the last two games in sunny Florida.) The Leafs were billed as "The White Walkers from the North" And, as the announcer so perfectly bellowed, "YOUR WASHINGTON CAPTIALS!" were the hero's. All dressed in red/white/& blue. Don't forget the fireworks and the JET FLYOVER!! Oh, come on, who's kidding who.. It was like watching a Harlem GlobeTrotters game & the Leafs were the (other) patsy team. Of course the Leafs played like shit. The Caps were having the time of their lives, (hero's that they were) and the evil White Walkers from the North bore the weight of being the villain. That must have been weird for Patrick Marleau. Long rant.. Sorry..

Is it just me or am I getting flashbacks of the 2013/14 season? Leafs basically had a playoff spot locked up, then lost 9 straight while teams behind them got hot. I think they had a 11 point cushion with 14 games to go and still missed the playoffs by like 5 points. Not saying it's gonna happen, but damn I'm starting to get a little scared.

That was the worst hockey game I have seen all year. And I don't mean the effort (which also was poor)....that was the singularly most boring, bouncy puck, sloppy and slow game. Dress whites are a bad idea. My guess is they were hatched by a female interior decorator that never played hockey. Looking at each other in the dressing room before the game, the demoralization would have been palpable. The uniforms lost and good riddance. The real Leafs return against Buffalo. New uniforms for an outdoor game and the whole concept officially beaten to death.
