I've been a life time red wings fan growing up in detroit and I'm a huge huge maple leafs fan as well and I'm shocked the red wings are playing as well as they have. They look a lot different so far this season the one loss they had arguably could have been a win but Gibson steals games for the ducks sometimes. All I know is I dont think Saturdays game will be an easy ride for the leafs i hope it's a great game and I'm happy with whoever wins. The leafs are going to have to shit down the red wings number 1 line if they want to win because that line has been on a tear they have almost all of the red wings goals to start the season i believe they have 13 goals amongst the 3 of them cant wait to see the game.

Spezza needs to be on that 4th line not dressing him for first game was a very very bad decision on soooo many levels. This team wants to be dynamic, Babcock is pulling on the reins, there is a clash right now. This defense will determine how far the Leafs will go in the playoffs if they make it. The Blues record last year after 5 games was 1-2-2, they were in last in January. It's not unheard of for teams to start cold and heat up later in the season, This is especially true when they have only played a handful of games. If one thing is going to screw them though it's Babcock's unwillingness to change when things aren't working. The guy put our 4th line out against their 1st repeatedly even though their 1st was making our 4th look foolish. It's just plain dumb.

The Point vs. Marner cap hit anger is going get a lot more interesting when Hyman comes back. It's going to be a mess in terms of what it will do to our roster and our ability to compete over the season (because forwards will get hurt, it's inevitable). When people realize that if Marner would have signed for money more like Point, we wouldn't have that problem ... it's not gonna be pretty.
