keefe is the most winningest coach of all time. of all time. better than scotty bowman, better than all. except thats regular season stuff. fact is, keefe isn't a great coach. he wins because the team he has. keefe cannot adapt midway through the game. if something isn't working, he keeps trying to force that square peg into the round hole over and over, failing, over and over (see their powerplay and how they enter the zone, or lack there of). keefe is terrible with line matchups and constantly gets outcoached. this is nothing new, but if keefe hasn't been changed yet i doubt he will..............unless the leafs don't even make the playoffs i guess.

Bad officiating is something EVERY team is a victim of. So since we all suffer, we can't sit here an complain. The difference between Colorado and Toronto is that Colorado refuses to let the refs be the reason they lose 2 points. They fight back and are so determined to overcome any bad calls.

Look, I like steve and drew as people, passionate fans and showing their passion, but steve's right, especially on the podcasts. The leafs are way too top heavy and not a good team around them. Flashes of things done well, but nothing substantial, IMO. I'm a canuck fan, so I feel steve's pain too, I mean I'm worried with the pettersen contract how bad that'll hit us as a team, but we have better defense (which has always been an issue) and reliable goaltending this year. If your guys can't play to set a tone, or go "well ok, at least we will show them we are here" by playing physical, it's going to kind of me going like this alot. I'm sorry steve, and congrats drew, The avs are still looking good this year.

Good points. I'll add: the winningest coach in NHL history - Scotty Bowman - believed that hockey was a game where defense came FIRST. Not high-flying offense, but defense. And that's a guy who had Yzerman, Federov, Shanahan, and some other high-flying forwards on his team. He BENT THEM to his will, especially Yzerman, so that they put defense ahead of all else. The result was a team that won three Stanley Cups under him, and one more later under Mike Babcock...as part of the NINE he won in his career, and three more as coaching consultant for the Black Hawks.

E.g. in the last game: with four Red Wings at their blue line waiting for you to come over, what the hell happened to the dump-in and chase, particularly on the powerplay? Is that not a thing, anymore? And why were there so many cute passes without a shot? Instead of creating chaos throwing it at the net? That's what got them the first goal.
