I have a Lg pj550 that does exactly that, power cycles with relays clicking on then off, so might change that ic you pointed to that ic people mistake for a regulator but its not its a switching driver and mosfet in one package for the standby power circuit that's why it has so many pins

It's a nifty little part for sure. A few parts around it can also cause it to not work.

Veikra Awesome video, thank you! I am working on the same board, Initially the only thing that jumped out was D304 was open, so I replaced the diode, then realized it's good and that both sides of D304 are open on the board. Any ideas? The unit clicks 3 times initially when it's plugged in, and never attempts to turn on (power light remains red). It clicks a 4th time when power is removed.

one side of D304 is grounded, the other side goes to CS on the ICE3BR1565. Fix this first, the ICE3BR1565 is common failure, but confirm D304 is really open circuit both ways. Go through it with the schematics and you'll find the problem

Great video, my LG50pk550 power board just went after a couple of weeks of random clicking and shutting off and then not working at all this week with 3 rounds of clicking then nothing. After taking out the power board and testing the fuses diodes and resisters with my multi-meter, it looks like my fuses and resisters are ok but D304 is getting continuity in both directions while in circuit. I am guessing that IC301 is probably bad as well. I really like the picture on this TV so I was going to try and repair it but haven't been able to find a good repair kit. Most on e-bay take 6 weeks or more from China with free shipping or are from US and with the shipping costs, I might as well give it to a professional to repair. Do you have any suggestions on where to get these parts in Canada (closer to central Canada the better) or a good parts site?

I have the same board I get the 5 volts stand by voltage but nothing else. turn it on 2 clicks blue light then one click and red. no picture at all. pulled d304 has a .25 forward voltage . r305 which is a .36 ohm ?? I pulled out also. could it be the switch mode power supply? mine is # 3BR1465JF

the whole board is a SMPS. Whats your voltage on the big capacitors?

Is there any way of testing it with a multimeter after I pulled it of the board? I know a 3 leg transistor can be checked by testing input and output voltage but one like this with 6 legs how do I go about it?

Just a notice to some people. I just today repaired a 2011 50pk550 that was cycling, clicking (powering on and right back off) It was intermittent, than went completely dead. Turned out nothing had FAILED on the power supply board, but some of the main power rail solder joints were cracked and failing. Reflowing 10-12 joints and the thing is back up and running

@@Nordic_Mechanic Yes it was quite obvious to see which joints take the most amount of power and heat cycles as they had actually discoloured and started to oxidize with age and built up resistance. Most of everything else, and anything carrying low current seemed to be fine. I noticed how the PCB developed a bit of a sag and wave after 11 years too. Certainly not straight anymore.

I replaced 3BR1565JF, worked for half an hour and then just after a "tzzz" noise (like short circuit or something) it came back to the continuous clicking. Like something else causes 3BR1565JF to fail. Any ideas?

white resistors at edge of board sometimes do that.

Check your high voltage at the output of this board. Sustain board failure may have damaged it

I just found one of these and think it has the same problem. Do you think it is worth repairing? I do not feel like doing all that work but know it is probably salvageable. Let me know if you have anything you can tell me about it that might help.

They have very nice picture, but you may have to replace the capacitors on the X and Y substain board as well as they often are the cause of the repeated power supply failures. They are usuallly fine for a year or two before they fail again if you dont fix the other boards

shipping and import fees would probably be expensive. The repair is only 100$ Canadian, so $70-75 USD I can do it but it would be better to find someone in the us, cheaper shipping charges and no import fees either. Still want me to check for a shipping quote? It is a very nice tv set all things said

Verifique para ver la placa "tcon" debajo de la fuente de alimentación. hay un regulador de voltaje que podría estar muerto. Si no, la placa lógica puede tener problemas. Verifique todas las conexiones.

check voltage when it boots up, if Va and Vs arent staying up then you have a issue
