Hi, my LG 55UH8500 turns on and after 5 seconds the screen goes black; using a flashlight directly to the screen i can see the image……dies this issue can be solve changing the LED strip (what you do in this video)?…..i tried replacing the power supply board, but same issue happening….thanks

Taking the tv apart was easy till I forgot how ribbon cables worked. I looked up another one of ur vid on how to remove ribbon cables😅. I’m so used to the plug configuration that I forgot about the clamp style

It's 90% likely that it will. However you want to first make sure that your power board is not the issue

I have done mine backlight. It all works however bottom left has bit more bright light. What could be reason for that possibly?

well I managed to make it 99% of the way but cracked the LCD screen right at the end, powered it on to see and yeah would've been great didn't realize how fragile the screen really is... Very upsetting but I got the TV for free so it was just a $24 lesson to know what to not do the next time if I ever do it again lol

I figured out the problem, when the led stripes fail, they make a sh​orr changing all the voltages, if you wanna know your problem try tu unplug the upper cable on your power supply, the one that has 4 tiny cables on it@@jzaden10

Check power on a main power board. they are market on board itself. Replace caps to begin with.

Question . My edge light led melted a little bit of the thick diffuser panel which sits close to them. After replacing the strips I noticed a bit of light scatter around the bottom edge. I think it's because the led had made a little melt mark on the edge of the panel. Would it be OK to sand that edge with a fine sandpaper to bring a smooth finish back again? The panel is not the easiest thing to find anywhere used online. Any advice welcomed. 👍

Sorry no one answered but no it won’t bc the surface the light hits will be curved so the light will be curved. If you somehow managed to make the whole section blend into that, then it probably would not be noticeable.

@@Ari-Verm The next most straightforward way is to open up the TV and test if it's backlight vs power board Easy way to check your power board: disconnect the cable between the power board and the mainboard. plug your TV into a wall, if the backlight turns on then your power board is good. if it doesn't you either have a power board or a backlight issue.

LED strip set is 69 Euro in The Netherlands. So i ordered them at Ali Express... 13 Euro, free delivery and got them in 8 days. Followed this video and the TV is still working. Would be stupid to trow away for that money!

@@Izhtronaut no. I’ve owned LGs before. Two of them. One lasted two years before it’s Wi-Fi receiver gave out, the other lasted three and half before the bottom half of the TV was no longer lit up. I ain’t doin it again. Id rather pay twice as much for a decent television that will last three times as long. LG gets two thumbs down.
