SUPER excellent presentation of information! Our Whirlpool Duet front load washer died suddenly after nearly 12 years of wonderful service and at age 75 dealing with many health issues, I was finding it overwhelming to be making a decision on which brand to go with. Had considered sticking with the Whirlpool brand, but seriously considered going back to GE since that is what we had prior the Whirlpool (when we did major upgrade to laundry to include pantry as well). Then several people kept telling me to go with LG. But everything was just so confusing, and the average prices for laundry pair with pedestals (an absolute MUST for me due to back issues) were just daunting. THIS video helped me make my choice: The WM400HBA. Now I can put in the order at our town's reliable appliance center and get not only a great laundry pair, but also the visual appeal of the great design. ¡Mil gracias!😊

Waiting on my W/D delivery tomorrow; I've been rewatching this video for a week, lol! I'm soo freaken excited! (Got the 4000 in Black Steel). It may be common sense to some, but def check your existing hookups before purchasing. I thought it was no big deal to go from Gas to Electric. Turns out, my outlet isn't compatible... I was able to make the switch for about $150 more and 2 more days of waiting. I'm glad I made the switch early and not get all excited and have to deal with the return and rescheduling policy.

Excellent comprehensive reviews, much needed & appreciated! Any clue as to why the WM4500 was discontinued? It *really* did check all the boxes & almost identical to the WM4270 which we are having to replace. It also had the interior drum light that could be illuminated during the cycle to monitor the wash if needed, something most wouldn’t miss until it’s no longer available. Apparently it’s not offered on any of the newer models, I wish LG would reconsider adding it to their next line up. Electrolux is now at the top of my list; our LGWM 4270 lasted 5 yrs-2 repairs plus a final issue finally put it to RIP. I hope the Elux will fare a bit longer.

Is Bigger always better? I wonder if any downfalls from washing small loads in a larger washer? I'm having a problem finding out how much room I'm going to need for the dryer (DLGX9001V) "taking into consideration the gas vent tubing going out the side). I think specs say 34" depth, but I wonder if the vent outlet is receded into the rear, meaning I don't need a full 8" or 9" additional inches for the tube to curve and exit to the side. Thanks for the great video.

Great Review. Quick Question… I love the LG4500 with 5.0 capacity and Auto Dispenser, but Im torn on the 7.4 Capacity Matching Dryer… for the same Price, the 9.0 Capacity 8900 (formally 8100) LG Studio Dryer is available. Other than the size difference, does either offer any differences in Features…. I do follow your channel which is very educational. I wonder if you will be able to help answer a question, I see you very strongly recommend Electrolux 763 Washer & dryer. I love it but the only flawback I see is the absence of preload of washing liquid- which dispenses detergent over a period of time. Would you suggest spending an extra $400 ish for this for the LG4500 series? My other concern is LG lack of customer support as compared to Electrolux.

Thank you! Unfortunately mold is a universal issue among all washers (front and top load). So our rule of thumb for any washer, including LG, is to always wipe down the gasket when you're done and leave the door open to air dry. That should significantly reduce any mold or bacteria build up.

I have a brand new LG washer and the little washer that goes under it. Wash cycles take a minimum of one hour and 7 minutes on medium soil setting and over 2 hours on normal setting. It doesn't clean anything. I washed my king size quilt that had one dirty area. Ran it through twice on a normal setting (2 hours each load). It was still dirty when done. It doesn't use enough water. Over half way through the cycle, areas of the quilt was still dry. I have washed this quilt in my old, much smaller Maytag front loader and cleaned beautifully. Machine doesn't spin completely after washing. Have to do 2nd spin even with small load. I can only wash half the amount of clothes at one time than a smaller machine. I hate this washer!!! It takes me all day to do 2 loads of laundry because I have to spin a second time then rewash a second or third time. I told them about this and they gave me another washer. Its just as bad. I am disabled and is too difficult to go up and down steps.

Can you stack the pedestal washer with a washer and dryer on top?
@DesignerAppliances Жыл бұрын
We don't recommend stacking on top of a pedestal. Mainly because it's dangerous since the pedestal wouldn't provide much support when the washer is on. Think of all the movement and noise it makes during the high spin speeds; it needs to be grounded for max support or else it could fall over. Also, it would make the dryer controls a lot higher and even more difficult to reach.

Speed Queen makes great machines. Both their front and top load machines have commercial style DNA. In fact, many front loaders at laundromats are Speed Queen. He is why you SHOULD NOT BUY the LG. The problem with LG is that if it ever does need service, there is NO service and parts!!! First time our washer went out, the place we bought it had to simply bring us another one. The second time it went out, after warranty expired, we could not get the new part to get it repaired. It went to Scrap Metal. We have the Electrolux now, and it is GREAT!!!! Works wonderfully.

@princesssweetpea9205 In his defense, he specifically mentions LG’s lack of service. Reliability, customer satisfaction, backing products etc. is a huge deciding factor & sadly, many companies fail miserably. Why??? Because they can. They have products we all rely on. The worst that can happen-they lose a customer…w/plenty to take our place. They already have our money why bother when it’s cheaper to replace customers than a heap of “scrap metal.” We had an LG 4270 & 3yr ext warranty; the bearings failed in 2 yrs. we waited close to a month for parts incl the drum (pre-2020). As soon as the warranty ended it developed a leak-detergent boot deteriorated from friction bc the geek squad didn’t tack it up, we purchased the part & replaced it ourselves. Another yr passed, the unit filled ~4.5 cu ft of H2O, timed out/unlocked & husb unknowingly opened the door-a deluge of whatever couldn’t suddenly be pushed back spilled out & luckily only ruined our flooring & not the floor below. It was replaced w/a $1k GE Profile top loader, ‘back to basics’ right? I’ve wanted to drag it to the curb ever since-a washboard & bar of soap would be less frustrating! Whites are dingy, the drum flops/bangs in the metal housing waking the neighborhood w/ only a few jeans & at 5’1, I could count on bruised ribs every time I’m forced to readjust water logged THROW blankets 2 max. in a 5.0 cu ft basin, then watch it +/waste H2O bc it can’t ‘balance’ itself despite having loaded it correctly! No thanks. So…here I am…seeking out yet another washer in less than 5 yrs. Perhaps another LG? Bc when it worked, I loved how clean our clothes got w/min. effort. However, your comment along w/my in depth research thus far has solidified why Electrolux is now at the top of my list. Having read hundreds of customer reviews, yours is the first I’ve seen comparing experiences btwn the two. I feel much better taking a chance throwing my money at Elux than risking a possible LG lemon & having the door shut in my face. Thank you so very much! You just made my choice that much easier 😊

LG is now unreliable. LG used to be a great brand because it "was" reliable. The LG washer dryers break and stop drying clothes, with observable decrease in performance over time meaning they don't wash as well as they do when new and get worse the older they get. I think this is planned obsolescence so don't expect to get more than 3 years out of them. I have two LG front loaders in my house and have experienced problems with both, one is completely broken and flooded my laundry. At over $1000 each, buyer beware.

Thank you for sharing with us. I currently own a top load LG washer, the most basic one. I miss my front load Maytag Neptune from 2002-2014. I’m still not convinced that the Normal cycle mode (which washes with minimal water) is actually completely rinsing out the detergent from the clothes (the entire rinse section is like 4 minutes max). I’ve thought about getting a Bosch or a top of the line LG front load. Not sure what I’m going to do.
