This was very instructive, I have a doubt, I am not sure if need to replace the entire set (display+crystal+touch sensor). The crystal is clearly destroyed, and the touch is not working. The display turns on, it does not seem to have dead pixels, not even any apparent run-off. But, I observe next to the cracks the colors are little tanned in yellow. If so, do I need to replace the whole set?

Need to repair my mothers G3, the LCD is fine, perfect picture, but the glass is cracked across and there's no touch function whatsoever. I'm hoping what I need to get is just the cheapest option from eBay listed as "touch screen digitizer glass lens" ? I don't own a heat gun, will a regular hair blower do? (or maybe not hot enough?) well, thanks to your little tutorial, I know that it is possible to fix one of these. only question is, should I keep it or get something newer. my LG K7 bit the dust last week and I got one of these G3 phones from a friend. has a couple dead spots on the digitizer (the thing that senses your finger)

if you dont have a suction cup, you can apply alight force from where the front facing camera lens is.thatll be enough to take out the screen as well

Thanks, this was massively useful when I swapped out my midboard/screen/digitizer assembly. The charging control board is most easily removed using a sewing needle to slowly slip beneath it and work it loose, incidentally.

Hi there. I'm a bit confused on what exactly I'm supposed to be buying for my lg g3. I dropped it the other day and it ended up getting a deep cracked spot right on top of where it shows the time(the time while on lock screen) The cracks are spread out around the crack/hole thing like a spider web and there's also cracks that seem to be under the glass that go all the way down almost to the bottom of the screen and they go all the way to the top as well. The whole top of the screen doesn't work and the only numbers that it will let me press on the lock screen are 2,7,9,0 and 5. It can't be unlocked at all. What exactly should I be buying to fix this problem? Thank you!

Can the screws fit in any hole that you place them into, or do they need to go back exactly where they came from, I know from the iPhone you have screws that are bigger and smaller, so you have to place them exactly where they came from. Thanks

I need to replace the rear facing camera (I'm assuming) because I see a black spot in the display, but only the camera. so it has to be the camera. do I have to remove the logic board, or even the rear housing to replace it? can I just remove the two rear (short, and regular) camera screws and replace, ??

Dropped the phone and put some ugly mangled chips on the corner of the bezel. You think it's too much work just to replace the bezel? All damage is cosmetic, maybe I should just sand it down to make it a little less ugly? Kind of ocd about my phones, dropped it the first day I had my case off.

It seems east to disassemble the G3. I want to purchase a new front frame housing, as my current one is damaged. Where can I order a original frame housing? What is OEM? Dafuq97 Just put "OEM" after any google search for the part. You can probably use a hair dryer instead of a Heat Gun (Thats what I use)

You still don't want to overheat it or the frame might possibly deform. Use the 572 setting it is plenty hot.

Hair dryers do not reach the temperatures quickly that a heat gun does. Also notice the smaller nozzle. Heat guns are inexpensive, shop around.

my G3 apparently has something loose with it's GPS. I was hoping to see where it is located on this video but never came across it. What the phone is doing is not staying locked on a fix. I kept reading that it was an issue with Lollipop but yesterday when i upgraded to M it made no difference. I downloaded GPS Test and it said I could see 15-20+ Satellites, but the phone would never Fix. So I removed the back case and started squeezing the phone. When I squeezed together the top left (facing the rear of the phone) or down the side, GPS Test instantly started showing a much greater signal strength from all the satellites and it would lock. Removing the pressure and replacing the back cover, the phone goes back into "no gps fix" condition. Any help?

+Glen Novitsky There are little brass colored pins that make contact with the black plastic frame of the phone. These are the contacts that touch the antennas on the black plastic frame. My guess is they are not making very good contact. You need to pull them up slightly but be careful they break very easy and if they do it will not work again. There are about 6 of them in that are in that area of the phone and they are for WIFI, Cell Signal, GPS. I am not sure which one is for GPS. They are right above the round vibration motor and right below.

I have a issue with my screen it looks like it has to do something with glue underneath the display and when i look to the phone from the side i can see some lights undearneath display (little space between display and bezzel) is there some easy way how to fix it ?

+Václav Chochola You can use super glue to get the screen to stick to the frame. Iused a small needle (for sowing) Put some gorilla glue on a piece of paper, dip the needle into it, then put the needle in between the screen and the frame to allow the glue to go between those two pieces. Do it as many times as you think you need to. Then hold it down for about 1-2min, then your all set. Also make sure to wear eye protection (I wore goggles) because super glue gives a bad reaction to your eyes and will make them burn. Also wear gloves because if super glue sticks to your skin it is very hard to take off.

Make sure you show all of the tools needed prior to disassembly. Some people are actually going to use this as a guide and if they get halfway in, and they don't have that tool, it kind of sucks.
