I have viewed this TV model in a showroom, and it just leaves all the rest standing. So well designed the aluminium frame still looks ageless and the 2nd gen MLA with 144hz is a gamers dream. Let's see if this will end up being TV of the year...

144 isn't a big deal. It would of been cooler if they had 240Hz.

@@Lewis-jn8ry It's not a big deal but it still makes a decent amount difference. 144hz feels smoother than 120hz and it's noticeable, at least for me (this is probably subjective). I doubt a 240hz 4k TV like this will be coming out soon. First off, HDMI 2.1 doesn't have the bandwidth for 4k@240hz + 10bpc - so a lot would need to happen to get it to work well.

Great review Andrew. I was wondering whether you had a chance to experience an IMAX enhanced movie with this TV set. I couldn't find anything anywhere about whether or not this tv fully supporting the IMAX enhanced content exploiting the metadata that may change the image settings as intended by the director. I know a sony bravia does it but was wondering if the LG panel does it at all or only change the image ratio without changing any other settings. THX

Just wanted to say thanks for your coverage of the G4. Your glowing words on the G4 (along with reviews from other creators) helped me make the decision to get this TV. I went for the 83 and got it yesterday. It is insanely, mind-blowing good. I am way more impressed than I even thought it would be. Hey great video. I got the G4 yesterday and love it. However I think there is an issue with VRR on 120hz games. Have you noticed that Gran Turismo 7 micro stutters quite a bit with VRR enabled. I found that turning VRR off and then back on whilst in game rectifies this. Be good to know if you see this and anyone else who has the G4

I currently have the 65 inch LG OLED65E6 from 2016. I see LG does not have an E series anymore. Have had some burn in throughout the years and was thinking about finally upgrading to a 77 inch G4. My E6 remote is awesome, wonder why they stopped using them? With 8K seemingly loosing momentum I may just get the G4 now. Hoping even with going from E to G, the impact is noticeably improved :) after 8 years.

Hi Andrew, about the picture settings , you mentioned that you’re using filmmaker mode base, but on the video it shows cinema home. Did you change it by any chance? I also noticed that clarity on the video shows at level 20. But the filmmaker mode level is 10 could you please clarify this? I’m assuming that the brightness states standard according to which format you are watching. Thanks for the great video!

I think the content he was watching on that video was Dolby vision content which doesn’t have a filmmaker mode. Cinema home is only available on Dolby vision and hdr. I’m assuming he was referring to filmmaker mode when watching sdr content, it just so happens that he was watching Dolby vision when recording.

I just bought the lg g3 83 inch but ended up returning it because the whites weren’t true white. It had a blueish/greenish tint to it. Also when viewing the tv in different viewing angles, it shift to a very strong blue/green hue color. And tended to look super dark. Does the g4 have any of these issues?

The peak brightness is about 1500 nits. I have a 77" G4. The panel supposedly can do 3000 but I'm guessing it's limited by firmware.

G4! WOW Andrew the G4 sounds incredible! I have the c2 and I love its picture quality with the Apple TV 4K so the G4 must be out of this world! :) The only thing that bugs me slightly with the c2 is if I display a white screen, the right hand side is slightly brighter than the left - noticeable when I'm watching skiing & snowboarding :) is this panel uniformity? I don't notice it any other time so I'm guessing that it's LG and the c2 mass production quality control bloops! :) For OLED the G4 really seems to be the one to go for! Paul

I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but usually, on LG OLED TVs (with this subpar remote), holding the back button works (while using HDMI CEC) when a single press doesn't.

I'd avoid Samsung soundbars in general. They're buggy, constantly disconnect (especially if you have rear surround speakers). I'm not familiar with the LG ones unfortunately but all I can say is avoid Samsung.

This TV and the S95D are built for movie enthusiasts and PC gaming. Otherwise I say go for the Hisense U8K or the newer U8N hell even the U7K or U7N. Both the U7/U8N both do 144hz gaming and are Mini LED with QD and 1500 to 3000 nits. So most people in my opinion should go for those tvs.

I have a Lg G2 and still works and looks good, and I know there's big difference now between G3 and G4 but for me unless my G2 broke down I don't see a big reason why I should change it or upgrade it, I'll star thinking about it when the G5 or G6 come out

Great video, G4 is fantastic, in my opinion it will be affordable in 1 year, right now the G3 is the winner in price. G4 costs a lot more than it is better. Approximate prices: 65G3 2200USD 65G4 3400USD 77G3 3300 USD 77G4 4600USD.

agree mate. have the lg g3 77 inch also. not worth to upgrade. its only 100 nits brighter. if you are a pc gamer. yeah go for it. 144hz while the g3 is 120hz. but i am a console gamer. not worth to upgrade. also wrgb oled is on the limit. can be much better. i wait till next year or 2026. hopefully blue ph oled !

That’s not the pack in stand we get here in NA. That looks like the G3 stand in the video. The new one has no backwards tilt. That’s saying you are getting the included stand with the 55/65inch. The bigger sizes has only wall mount included and I’m not sure if those sizes would get the same stand or not if you had to order one.

I walked into a Best Buy yesterday with polarized sunglasses and noticed I could not see the 77” G3 screen. If you wear polarized sunglasses and are constantly walking in and out of the house this may not be a good tv. I’m looking at the 83“ G3 because it does not have the Anti Reflective technology. Thanks for all the helpful info and maybe this is something you can check out.
