This phone came out in 2017. What year are we still in? Can we please not buy into the whole your phone is outdated after 6 months thing? I've received probably a total of 7 updates already with my G6 on Sprint. But these were Android/LG updates. There is absolutely nothing outdated about this phone and it holds up with today's flagships. Only base your decision on what makes you feel good. Not other people saying that your phone is old. This is not an old phone!

CeeStyleDj Word. The G6 is now one of the best value for money top end phones out there. I look at what's come out these last few months of 2017 that could potentially be an upgrade and a lot of those phones have major flaws at extortionate prices: the V30 and Pixel XL 2 with bad oled screens - looking at you LG - the current Samsung phones with poor fingerprint scanner placement, and the iPhone X with that notch and extra fragile build. As it stands, I honestly think the G6 is the most underrated phone of 2017 and as such, crazy good value for money, especially if you can get the international + version with the extra storage and Quad DAC. You basically get 80 or 90% of the bells and whistles of the latest flagships for less than half of their price.

ProGamer lol. Ridiculous. You're wasting your money because marketing tells you that something is better. There's absolutely nothing a 6-month newer phone can do than a 6 month older one. But, whatever makes you happy I suppose.

Alboravin I agree. I probably spent a solid 4 hours before I decided on my purchase - and that was on the evening of my purchase - not to mention the weeks and months prior to getting a new phone. You're right; I found that a lot of the phones that are competing with the G6 had flaws or issues I just couldn't deal with. The only thing I still don't really like about the G6 is the 18 by 9 ratio screen but I have definitely gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore. I just prefer the with that my G3 had as well as the height when watching a video. As for performance, I really can't see any other phone out performing it even today January 28th, 2018. It's not like we're editing video on these phones. Anything that you're doing on your phone is probably going to be performed at the same way with any Flagship. As for benchmarks numbers, that's all they are: numbers. It's like saying your car with 207 horsepower is better than my car with 204. It's ridiculous. Go with what you like, with what you think looks cool, and be happy with it. If someone judges you for having an "old" phone ( which is ridiculous because they are still selling this new at the carriers) they have personal issues to deal with. I really don't care what anyone thinks of what I own. I do my research, I know what's a good product and I stick with it.

I've got Lg G6, from the day 1 when the phone was released, and I can say that the battery life i great. I am a heavy user and at the end of the day my G6 got left between 30% and 35% juice. No lag, No studder, No freezes. LG ALL THE WAY !

For some reason LG doesn't lag or stutter....it powers through and probably would heat up. I have an LG g2 on 4.4.2 kitkat and it plays games with high graphic levels with no problems. All it does is heat up.

Colors are more accurate on the G6 to be honest. OLED is nice and vivid, but the colors are not really true to life. Only Pixel 2 got it right but everybody hated it because the grass doesn't glow in the dark :)

I have own a G6 for 8 months now, and I LOVE this phone. I play Pokemon Go daily and live in Canada so it had got cold in the last few months. Video is pretty accurate with his depiction of the phone, I personally have no issues with the battery but I do partial recharges(30%-80%) a couple times a day. Accubattery says battery is at 90% health after about 300 charge cycles. I bought an early model with some slight screen bleed from the backlight at th bottom of the screen but it's only noticable in the pitch balck with a dark background and later models shouldn't have the same issue. Regardless the screen is beatiful, very accutate colour representation like past LG LCD panels which I prefer over Samsungs oversaturated Amoleds. Makes reading and using the phone in dark settings a joy.

I picked one up for $280 brand new for a friend. It's one of the best cell phone deals I have ever gotten (thanks to poor advertising and the boot loop reputation), and I got my Galaxy S8+ a while back for $500. The LG G6 is amazing for the price and I find myself jealous of the wide angle camera sometimes.

i have an issue with the setting "always on display " , this is turned off but when i watch movies (youtube / netflix or homemade vid) and i accidentily cover the middle section (speaker and 2 leds) my screen switches to ALLWAYS ON DISPLAY this is so annoying , is there any other setting that causes this ?

What other phone is as good or even better at this price point? 370Euro and up. Im looking to upgrade from my Xperia Z3 Compact and Camera quality is important to me and same with battery life. Speakers i use occasionally but it's not THAT important. Im not looking to pay a fortune for a high end phone and this one seems pretty solid for the price it's at currently, does it still get updates or is there any other phone that might be preferrable over this one in this price range?

For the most part I loved my LG G3 and had it for about 2.5 years until the screen started flickering and fading. Now I need to replace it. Is it worth upgrading to G6 or should I look elsewhere?

6 months down the line I'm also loving my G6, and not one bit convinced that the latest flagships out there are enough of a leap ahead to fork out an eye and a liver for. The G6 is probably the best value for money phone on the market right now. Most of the bells and whistles of the latest 2017 phones for less than half the price. If you get the international + version with extra storage and quad DAC on the cheap then that's definitely a win.

Is the battery life not so good because of the battery size or how the phone operates? I've heard people saying the V30 has great battery life, but it's the same size as the G6. Trying to figure out which phone is the way to go and battery life is important to me.

The G6 is an amazing phone but I still think the LG G3 have the best screen and it still holds up today, if not better than today's Flagship phones. There's something about the calibration of the LG G3 screen. Don't get me wrong, the G6 looks awesome and so do today's current phones but there was just a little bit more sharpness with the G3 and everything looked a little more true to life.

LCrum20th I didn't want to replace mine. But I was having issues with something corrupt in Android. Also my battery was starting to go low. I would have still been on my G3 if it wasn't for these issues but I'm happy with the G6.

Agree completely. It is a steal right now! SDG 821 is about 30 percent slower than the SDG 835; but in real world usage, I can assure anyone that they are not going to notice it. Thanks for sharing here Nick! More people should know about it and make conscious decisions of buying such gadgets.

It's closer in performance than you think. Probably Closer than 10%. You guys have to remember that the 821 in the G6 is not the 821 and other phones. It has faster clock speeds specifically for the G6

I recently bought a LG G6, and I soon noticed that the photos shot with the wide-angle lens were very disappointing, based on the reviews I have read and seen. Turns out the LG G6 is produced with two different wide-angle lenses. One has a focal length of 2.01 mm, the other one is 2.09 mm. You can check which one you have by taking a photo with the wide-angle lens and in the native camera app go to the info of the photo. Unfortunately I received the 2.09 mm lens, which is far more blurry and less detailed (as can be seen on posts such as Reddit). If possible, could you check out which version of the wide-angle lens you received? It is even possible to physically determine since both look different. Terribly disppointed but with severe pain in my heart I had to return my LG G6. The store where I bought it from said they were going to look into it, but I am afraid they will not be able to provide me with a device with the "correct" wide-angle lens, as the box has to be opened in order to determine this, and even retailers do not know apparently which ones they receive (it seems to be super random).

I have the phone now for about 8 months and here is my honest review: The battery is really good and last easily a full day, the camera is brilliant and alot of people say that the selfie is not good but i find it good and its not disturbing me, its not slow and not getting slower, i find the phone really fast and powerfull. I've dropped the phone for not less than 10 times and it didnt break or anything( I have a cover for the phone but not a screen protector). I still find this phone amazing and not looking to change it anytime soon.

You lose Removable Battery, IR Blaster , Second Screen , HiFi DAC.(exclude v30 for that feature. Because it has it. ) , headphone jack *Khm khm Pixel 2 XL* And muc more. And gain Water-Resistance and "Wireless" charging. For me not worth it

Nick, if you use a Dark theme then Battery life would be better and could be all day with 4 hours SOT over 15 hours usage. But, considering 3300 Mah battery life should have been better

The problem using 820 is not about power, is about battery life. Phones using 835 usually have longer battery life

The G7 comes out in less than a month, if you're planning on getting this phone, just wait til then, because when a new LG phones comes out, the previous version drops in price alot. However, you can still find one for less than $300 so that is pretty sweet

I cannot agree with you more. The battery just sucks big time. I am on a 4G+ network all the day and it just drains the phone so much. My usual SOT is about 4 hours and struggling. But I loved the wide angle cam. I upgraded to the V30

Im from Brasil i see your video and like it.. I Buy one LG 6 and love too.. So i agree with everything you said in the video, my critics are just for the battery, I must be doing something wrong in the flash also that a white in the photos and maybe it can be a little messed up in the icons in the sense that they are consuming a lot of the battery would have to review what I can disable in order to improve this ... If you can make a video of how to improve this would be of great value to me and I assure you that other colleagues from the internet. Thank you very much for the review. Joe Al S8 isn't worth the price difference. The G6 is selling for under $200, S8 still selling for $400 on ebay. Even tho the S8 has a better CPU it does not perform any better due to touchwiz. If you watch side by side comparisons they are mostly the same.

I have the LG g6 and also used to have the LG g3 which was a great phone at the time. Have also had the Samsung Galaxy s3 and s6 edge. I way prefer LG. LG g6 has a great battery life better than any other phone I have had. Great camera and performance. Really like this phone a lot.
