After using both the g6 and the U ultra, I can honestly say that the U ultra is the better device. Gaming performance is a lot better, audio is alot better,more refined and defined despite my LG G6 has the quad dac(DS nodel). The U ultra already got the oreo update while the G6 stuck at 7.0. The G6 wins over the U ultra in camera and ergonomics. But overall, definitely the U ultra is the better device.

Very well said Jaime. The U Ultra is like a 2016 flagship delivered late. Its shortcomings may have been excusable last year, as there were quite a few phones without water and dust resistance, most phones did not support wireless charging and bezels were considered ok. In 2017, however, everyone seems to be going bezel-less as best they can, water and dust resistance has become a staple of flagship devices and wireless charging is likely to become a big thing. Even the iPhone 8 is rumored to have wireless charging. All of that combined with the U Ultra's inability to deliver other things people expect from larger phones (e.g. longevity), it makes it hard to recommend at the price that it is being sold for.

Dingleberry Tech the only phones that will trade blows this year are the S8 and the highly anticipated 10 year anniversary edition of the iPhone which nobody knows the name of yet. Either the S8 or the Note 8, we don't know yet, but trust me when I say that by the end of the year, the LG G6 will be a great handset only because of the price, but not when compared to those two.

The 10 sold well. It's a great phone. It was priced just too damn high and still sold well and much better than HTC's expectations. It had everything saving AMOLED and IP68. But those were fair compromises for HTC's sexy full metal body and buttons and vastly superior audio processing. But this...HTC you may as well just become a subsidiary for Google.

Am I slow at picking up on this? I noticed you covered the speaker on the LG G6 on the bottom left side of the phone. My LG G6 has the speaker on the top right side of the phone, so there's little chance to cover it up when using the device in landscape mode. It was one thing extra that I really liked about the design.

here's something that nobody seems to be talking about and I'm not sure why. reviewers, once again, seem to be reading off the spec sheet and not using common sense. yes, having a good screen to body ratio is important, however, there is some bs when it comes to the new screen sizes. the issue is that the new 18:9 displays are not that practical. for example, both of these displays are 5.7, however, look at examples at both 2:54, 4:39, and 5:00. it is quite evident that actual video sizes, apps, and games are larger on the HTC. a lot of the space is wasted on the on screen buttons in regular apps, black bars in video, and once again black bars in games. not to mention since the display is now taller, it is still difficult to reach the notifications bar. this 18:9 aspect ratio is, for the majority of the time, a gimmick. yes, in cases such as scrolling up and down, you'll see more on the page, but in general, you will benefit less from them. so it'd be nice if they would market these screens based on the 16:9 area instead of the full screen. and yes, the HTC still sucks in it's use of space, i was just making a general point about these 18:9 ratio displays

Yeah the thing with 18:9 (2:1) displays, is that their screen area size is smaller. A 5.7" 18:9 screen is equivelant to about 5:2-3 16:9 screen phones.

The only flaw of G6 is the 2016 processor, that's why other models handle better the battery. also The htc camera gap with the body is not a good design approach but it compensates with the stereo speaker. Amazing phones

It should be cheaper, yes but in this review, the camera is just as good as the g6, the battery life is similar and the screen/audio is better. The g6 overall is the more versatile device and a better buy but why does the make the ultra suck? Why is it the worst phone ever? Because a popular reviewer said so? Yeah that's it... 32Natban the duel lenses are a win on the LG my mom has the v20. but I read the some US versions will not have wireless charging on the mention above. when it comes the camera chassis on the ultra it looks the same has the old HTC HD2 and HTC M9 to me. the secondary screen dual display LG copied from a 2013 Chinese Mobil maker "qukitel" I wish HTC bring back front facing speakers I loved my m8. the U Ultra actually leaves a lot of room for debate. It literally is the largest flagship of 2017 and with no major selling factors as to why. In fact, it has a slow processor then lets say the pixil with only 4 gigs of RAM (Samsung we would like 6 gigs here in the US also) and only 3000 mah battery. The user interface is nothing to write home about even with the extra screen on top (haven't I seen that somewhere else) all and all for the price the U Ultra is not worth it. If HTC thinks they can change my mind by all means, TRY

HTC sense looks outdated, seriously. I'm a big HTC fan, having multiple HTC phones over the years, and currently having an HTC 10 right now. But seriously, no change in software (or very minimal) for 3 years and still no transitions which make everything feel forced and not smooth. Also, 3000MhA battery is not big enough for such a big sized smartphone. Ugh. HTC, exept for the design and screen apparently, you have got everything wrong with this phone! I really do hope you won't mess up the HTC 11 (or whatever they are going to call it) as it would be the end for you this time ... Unfortunately.

LG actually got it right this year and the...only...reason...why I'm picking the S8 over the G6 is because the S8 looks even better than the G6 and the G6 looks pretty good. I like how LG gave it some thought this year with design and making the bezels much smaller....the water resistance...the dual cameras....they did great. But Samsung one-upped them again this year. The G6 will likely sell better than the G5 and the V20 did.
