See why the LG HU915QE CineBeam laser TV is quite possibly the best UST projector available in this first look video review. This triple laser, super bright, 3700 lumen, ultra short throw projector is absolutely amazing lights on and off. If you're thinking about buying a laser TV for your living room you should be looking at the new LG CineBeam HU915QE UST.

The Formovie Theater will continue to beat anything that AWOL produces. The 3000 appears to just be a dimmer version of the 3500 and with the reduction of brightness it loses it biggest strength.

@@ProjectorScreen so out of all UST’s that you reviewed and also i saw some reviews that came out after your Showdown are summarizing formovie theatre is best of all? Even when compared with this LG HU915QE, but this has HDMI 2.1 post and what differences that make this superior or formovie theatre superior and what key things that we need to note while buying any UST?
@ProjectorScreen
@ProjectorScreen Жыл бұрын
@@Nagarjunapathuri I wouldn't say the Formovie Theater is the "best of all" , but I would say it certainly provides the best bang for the buck. The HU915QB is the only model I would say right now could be considered better from an image quality standpoint as it has the best contrast ratio and black levels of any UST currently. It and the QE however have a more narrow color gamut than the Formovie and cost 2x as much. There are certain features such as HDMI 2.1 that if are crucial to a person, could make one UST a "better choice" over others that may have superior properties in other areas.

Thanks! No edge blending that I am aware of, but we’ll take a deeper look. We will be doing a shootout video between these two very soon. What I can tell you is that the LG has better contrast, but the AWOL can be much better calibrated and has a wider fl color gamut. You’ll have to wait for the video for more ;)

This looks like a great projector. For my space I'd need to project a slightly smaller (approximately 80") picture in the higher portion of the projection zone (there is a light switch on my projection wall that means my projection needs to start around 18" above the stand). But I can't find anything on cropping or making the image smaller than 90". In your experience setting up this projector, can it project 75" or 80" in any region of its throw or would the only way to get a smaller output be to somehow mount it closer to the screen...
@ProjectorScreen
@ProjectorScreen Жыл бұрын
You would have to position it closer to the screen and if you go smaller than the projectors stated image range, you may lose some focus/sharpness.

@@ProjectorScreen thanks for the reply! I also found this: "This sibling projector is essentially the same but differs in some key respects. Along with coming in black chassis, it is spec'd at a lower 3,000 ANSI lumens output. This lower brightness should hopefully help it not only reach deeper blacks for more demanding home theater environments, but it also allows LG to expand the color gamut to something beyond 100% DCI-P3, rather than the 94% DCI-P3 achieved by the HU915QE. in this case I still think the QE version is better except you are only watching in controlled home cinema environment, then the 10%-20% bigger color gamut may be more important to you.
@ProjectorScreen
@ProjectorScreen 2 жыл бұрын
@@DanielRechberg I agree about bright room viewing and the QE as a "tv replacement" whereas the QB is more for a dedicated cinema room. Supposedly our QB unit is on the way and we will get that measured/tested and put it side by side with the QE as well.

Crazy inflated contrast measurements like 1,000,000:1 are meaningless marketing jargon. Ansi, native or sequential contrast readings such as what we measured at 2,700:1 are far more accurate and provide a realistic representation of the contrast that a projector can put out.

Why can't we get accuracy from 3000+ lumen light cannons? It's always down in the 2k range for the best picture. Still waiting for a proper light cannon ust for living room 120" duty. Not currently happy with my lsp9t. Brightness is needed in projection. Tv's are just so many leagues and bounds ahead in terms of color saturation, volume, and brightness, along with gaming features, when we COULD have better. Sony showed that in the gtz380 demo. On a 150" screen they were over 400 nits. Hdr actually looked like hdr, the picture was MASSIVELY saturated like a Sony oled, and black levels were stellar. We need that experience to come down to real person levels, and we need it to happen fast. All these companies so focus on pitch black room performance, and forgetting the massive markets hare they are giving up to tv's by simply not being good enough. I'm happy with the lsp9t in my gaming room. But I need 150" in my living room. 😩
