This is crazy, usually you have to buy a new tv to get a brighter screen mode. LG has come along way with software. No wonder they passed Samsung and are inching closer to Sony. Once they match the colour it’ll be harder to buy Sony or Samsung. I’ll hold my tongue and wait though.

LG builds better TVs and has better processing. So if Sony, LG, and Samsung all use the same WB-OLED panel Sonys set will be slightly better than the lg in some (not all) areas. LG has better build quality and better processing, which comes close to Sony. Samsungs processings is the worst, but that doesn’t mean Samsung has bad processing. When u watch old content the processing is so important. Newer content not so much as not as much processing is required. Thanks like and subscribe

Got the update for my C3 the other day. I was surprised at first because I didnt think LG would be including this for the 2023 models. I was wrong and happy they did include it. From what I have experienced so far the PQ looks sharper and there seems to be more vibrant colors on my C3. As for the brightness while gaming? There has been a boost for sure. So this new update has improved the experience for me with my C3 not that it would have made any difference on how I feel about it. Loving the C3.

​@@heatwaveps5you don't do it at all, unless tv brings up a notification or you have some image retention (not burn in, cause that's different) Default recommendation is +2000 hours at least.. which would be using a tv for 6 hours at least for 365 days.. so yeah, definitely don't do it monthly

@Need4FPS so only do if tv pop up a notification then & now lg did a big web sos update & have they increase the hdr brightness on my c3 model it was at 800 hdr nits on standard before so now at around 1.000 nits doesn't sound right to me but will find out when get my ps5 pro

Paul i have LG G3 77' and my tv got 13.40.75 update but i didnt update (someone said its a step update for webOS 24. Also i have 03.33.25 now). Somebody said that update ruined screensaver. Screensaver delay increased 3 min to 30 min and i shocked when i saw that, so i didnt update my tv but i want to ask you for that situation. Does this problem continue? Actually lg did this on purpose i know but i want to know does webOS 24 have that thing?

I do have something negative to report (AUDIO) in my 23.20.50 update on my external speaker before this update it used to sound louder and used to get multi channel pcm which is LPCM 2ch even on youtube now i get stereo pcm which is what im really supposed to get originally,did they loose some kind of audio license?

This update bricked my HDR game mode as well as all other HDR sources. It’s fixable by changing back and forth between inputs but it’s quite the inconvenience. It also wouldn’t allow me to exit out of game optimizer mode after changing sources. Any others with these issues?

It's amazing what can be done via an update these days. A car can be given more power via an OTA update. TVs are often limited in brightness for one reason or another, especially OLEDs. So a few tweaks via an update can easily increase, OR decrease brightness if the manufacturer feels the need to do so.

Most people don’t know you can get extra brightness on Lg Oleds by just turning off Power Save / Eco mode. It makes look so much better in my opinion.

On the one hand it's great they increased the brightness. On another hand, I don't like that Companies can play these type of games with Firmware updates. If the TV is capable of being this bright, why not just release it at the proper brightness. We all know we can squeeze brightness out of these panels via Service Menu Modes (if you know how to do it, I don't). But us consumers should have to do that or wait for Firmware to unlock a TV's full potential. The G4 is capable of getting QD OLED like colors if you know how to fuss with the Color luminance stuff, but we all don't know how to do that.

Extra brightness is not really needed in so many cases. It just makes it for more uncomfortable viewing. Unless you are unemployed and watching daytime tv. Still the tv I will get in the new year. 77 inch upgrade from a 55 inch CX.
