TCL has practically slapped Samsung in the face. The difference is unbelievable. If you're a nitpicker like me. Thank you for video.

Honestly Paul I am shocked by seeing a TCL tv beating a Samsung tv. Yes the Samsung sounded a little better but when it comes to PQ? The TCL was the better of the two. And not by a small margin but to my eyes alot! The blooming on the Samsung was horrid while it was more controlled on the TCL. Great comparison video Paul.
@barryjones2366Ай бұрын
Ask more questions, why did it look so much better compared to the normally better Samsung? Settings! They were probably both in Standard Mode OOTB. On Samsung Standard Mode uses Contrast Enhancer.....this ruins the picture lifting everything (making it much brighter) making highlights look less tightly controlled causing blooming. Much better to use Filmmaker for any comparisons on a Samsung and Movie Mode on the TCL. Truly a terrible comparison! He didn't even know that the QN95D has around the same amount of dimming zones. We need another video Paul with more comparable settings! I think most don't realise how important they are for HDR comparisons shown in SDR. This video is totally and utterly misleading like most comparison videos on youtube..... Also Max Chambliss has a video showing how Game Mode on the TCL is terrible.

That’s why it’s lg oleds in my house,you can see the massive difference the self lit pixels make in a completely dark room once a black screen is on. I think the reason for this diference in black levels is the fact that some QN65D (depens on market) are using an IPS panel vs VA panel on the TCL. Local dimming helps but native black level on IPS screens is poor, then if you add mate finish...

Can you tell me the settings you used on both? There is definitely something wrong with the Samsung here. My QN90B with Filmmaker Mode looks much more like the TCL here and the QN95D has much more dimming zones so couldn't possibly be this bad with the right settings. I don't think anyway. Never use Standard/Dynamic Mode on a Samsung comparison they use Contrast Enhancer Low/High even movie mode might use Active Tone Mapping, so use Filmmaker only and it should perform much much much better. 😀 Can you make another video with accurate settings?

Interesting comparison. I have the previous years top of the range TCL Mini-LED and I wouldn't swap it for anything. Black levels are brilliant as long as you sit directly in front of the TV. Even the audio is superb. Black levels are miles apart on this comparison - it really puts the Samsung to shame. However possibly the TCL is crushing blacks and losing a bit of detail and it's probably not doing the Samsung any favours having it at such a low level but the TCL looks far superior. You can see why Samsung are going to transition to OLED as they can't compete with the Chinese - they will very soon have the whole LCD market to themselves.

Samsung Tizen OS comes NO way close to Android OS based on functionality and availability of apps. I own 2 Android OS 65-inch TVs. The TCL C725 and Toshiba Z770KN. Both TVs are amazing in terms of picture quality and sound as well. But overall, the Android OS just runs so smooth on them. Best part of the Android OS for me is that I can side-load APK files or use the Downloader app to install apps that I might not find on the Google Playstore. No other OS running on current Smart TVs can do that. Will definitely be looking to get the TCL C855 as I have seen a side by side comparison between a QLED and Mini LED TV. TCL FTW.

The only thing I will say is that Samsung, Sony and LG are probably price higher for 3 reasons 1) because they have customers loyalty and retention over the years so they can charge a premium price especially to people who are brand loyal. 2) the big companies probably know or assume the average person won’t read into the details of the TVs or even compare TVs as they have customers base. 3) maybe the higher end TVs last longer 10 years and won’t experience burn out, while the lower end brands won’t This is just my opinion I’m open to correction

This is the third comparation on youtube that I know that compares the TCL C855 vs Samsung QN95D. This makes me think that it's a promotional video. It's nothing bag, but the video should be labeled. I don't think it's a concidence that there are at least 3 youtubers that are trying to say what a great value is the TCL compared to the Samsung mini LED flagship. Regarding the review, I understand that TCL has a lot of strainghts, but the thing that rarely is compared, are the viewing angles. Samsung uses a wide view angles filter. For me it's important. TCL does not.

Definitely didn't do his research well enough. I suspect he just turned them on and filmed them.....which means Contrast Enhancer Low on the Samsung lifting everything making it look worse than it is. Whenever you do any comparison on youtube you should use Filmmaker Mode on the Samsung/LG, etc and Movie on the TCL for a better one to one comparison. So Static Tone Mapping is used on the Samsung and CE is Off. Basic errors like this on almost every comparison on youtube makes you realise these are bottom tier type videos. And no real content!
