There is not way to create a short, the negative and positive pins are far away from one another, also if you decide to do this is because your battery might be dead by now, so what is the risk? Use a hand sewing needle, if you take it to shop they probably will do what I did and if they are not honest they will charge you as if they had replaced the part

Welp, that didn't work for mine. I even used a hand sanitizer wipe and let it dry out and plugged it in and it still says, "slowly charging...".

Slow charging is due to a cheap cable or a less than 2 Amperes wall charger, Try a different cable and a different wall charger, usually 2.0 or 2.1 Amps wall charger will charge faster. Please let me know the results

Hi! Thank you for asking, you could be right about that, find a small needle and carefully slide it inside the charging port, the majority of times the lint from our pockets start building up until the charger won't go all of the way in, a few times the worn out or sometimes the poor quality cable causes this problem but not very often

Thank you for your comment, I understand that some viewers think that doing this sounds a little bit crazy and however I am 100% sure that there is not risk at all since the BATTERY is dead and the charging port PINS have a decent separation that the sharp metal will not get 2 of these together to create a shortcut and the other safety thing is that the positive and negative are far away from one another

After charging my home button blinks repetitively(like activating google) and screen blinks constantly. Could this need just a simple clean?

If Screen blinks could be a bad screen or not connected correctly, disconnect everything and reconnect

I tried that and it didn't work. I bought a small screw driver set from dollar tree. It is very weak aluminum. It's almost like sunglass repair screw drivers. I used the smallest flat head and it worked. I started by scratching the top of the flat piece.

Hi, yes you are right and however the way I do is with sharp tweezers and assuming that the port was already damaged, we risk nothing trying to clean it, after all if it doesn't work we replace it

@@ez-fixit4044 but if it wasnt damaged and you damaged it while trying to clean it, and then you assume it was already damaged when in reality it only got damaged when you put the sharp object in the phone, then you have to replace it not because the phone was damaged and there was nothing you could do about it, but because it wasn't damaged, it was only dirty, and you were the one who damaged it. (Hypothetically)

@@zsnako5466 Well..... this is something that most people not familiar with charging port says, if you take a look at the inside of the port you will see little pins on the walls of the port, imposible to touch them while sliding the thiny objet, thinner than a bobby pin and nothing will happen to the pins, also as someone else says that may create a short circuit, that is imposible as the phone is dead due to bad charging port, on the other hand a tootpick it's too thick and if you aren;'t careful then you will break the center of the port or damage it permanently.
