Just got this phone through T-Mobile. Had my Galaxy Note 3 for just over 5 years and it was awesome but it was definitely time for a change. I can honestly say I love this phone, it has been amazing so far and I definitely recommend it.

Hey Kevin, great review. Yesterday I walked into my local Best Buy and asked for the cheapest best phone I could get, and this is what they pointed me to.... so it's what I got. So far I like it but I'm coming from a Galaxy Note model, so it's definitely a step down. However, as I get older I realize that I don't need all the bells and whistles I once thought I did. 😉 I'd love to see you do a video on "hidden tips and tricks" for this model, ie, alphabetizing apps that are put into application folders--seems once they're in, they're in there in the order in which they were added _only._ Thanks!

See I used to be the same, started with a shit flip phone in early 2000s, then flip phones start getting smaller and smaller, until phones start gaining touch capacitive screens, then they start getting bigger and bigger again, with more and more memory and cameras and glass and aluminum, and I always felt the need to get my upgrade every 2 years... But now I only tend to buy phones a year or 2 after they've been out, as to avoid early adopter problems, and to try and get them for as cheap as possible lol... Because as phones started getting more shiny stuff, I realized I don't need a phone for all that, I only use my phone for KZbin, Facebook, and texting/calling, as well as an alarm usually... I have a PC for anything else, and I have a Switch for portable gaming, so I literally only need a phone for the most basic of tasks, why should I spend $1k on the newest galaxy every year? Lmao. I do wanna pick up an S10e though just because I'm fairly sure I could find one around $200-$300.

But I'm trying to decide whether to stay on the Galaxy A20 or go back to the Stylo 5.....I don't like the fact that you can't move apps and games to the micro SD card unless there's a way that I have no idea I haven't been able to find a way to move apps and games to the MicroSD card yet 😕😔

Got the Stylo 5 free with switch from Metro PCS. I'm now a Cricket customer and I'm really satisfied with the service and price. I love my Stylo 5 phone, but the pictures are great but the video could be better but all in all...great phone and great service....thanks for your video 😁👍

Thanks, Kevin for the video. I just purchased a Stylo 5 from Total Wireless. I already owned a LG Rebel and had it for 5 years and had no trouble. But now its time to upgrade and I am not into the really fancy and expensive phones so this one is perfect for me. I already have a contract with Total Wireless so they gave me a great deal for the Stylo 5. It won't be unlocked but that's ok with me.

I have had many Android base phones since I got my first one in 1990 and the Stylo 5 does just fine. I just use it for calling and a little texting and the phones features work for me. A good value so far. Good luck.

I've mostly used LG phones going back 7 years. Having such bad luck to bear with phones, read: they make heads with concrete, this has proven an excellent option for me. Boost Mobile sells them on deferment for an extra $10 per month / 18 months.

I was eligible for an upgrade at Boost so I just purchased the Stylo 5 . Replaced my 4 Plus . I'd broken the stylus pen and the factory charger was destroyed in a house fire and the battery life wasn't as good . I can say the stylus pen is better quality than my 4 Plus , Speaker is louder and sound is clearer than the 4 Plus . Like the look of the phone better . Have to have it awhile to see. Think I'm done with Boost after the in store experience I had this morning .

So far I've had the 5 about 3 months and it's great. No broken screen this time. My last one was a 4 cracked in the first month with a shock proof case. I will say I'm using a better case this time. Triple layer.. Including front protection. Lol.

Ok heres the deal. This phone is incredible. It may be a little slow, deceint camera and only 32 gigs but really only 15 gigs but this phone rocks. Their is no real reason to be dumb enough to buy a 700 to 1100 dollar phone. This phone is great and deserves better reviews than what it is getting. If this phone had 64 or 128 gigs then it would be the worlds greatest phone on the market and would smash Samsung Note 10 especially at its low price point

The front camera video was O.K. but you could definitely tell the difference when you did a video from the rear camera. Love the close on the palm tree! Those damn things are indestructible. Here in Vegas I have seen many folks destroy their cars by running into these trees and the tree does not even get a scratch.

I have a Stylo 2 from Boost I've owned since Feb 2017, Android is no longer supported for it but the stupid thing is a TANK of a phone. It's never glitched out on me with 30+ months of daily use, and I am not exactly gentle with my phones. Cheap E-Bay case has been her only protection and I've broken 3 of them so far lol. Even the original battery still last a full day, mind you it used to last over 2 days easy when she was new... Looking at reviews of the newest Stylo just encase anything happens to my grandma of a phone so thank you for the review.

It choked after 8 months, sent in for work and LG broke it at the receiving place and tried to tell me I had to pay for the work. I just got the stylo 5 and its just okay. I don't care for where they put the speakers on the bottom edge. Sometimes i touch it and the sound volume will go down. Also i find its hard to hold in hand i definitely need a cover. I liked the stylo 3 it fit nicely in my hand. But that's my preference. If those 2 things wont bother you then the phone is okay.

I have had all the stylo's up to the 4. Great mid grade phone for the price. I got all mine free or for 30 bucks. I am using my phone a ton more now besides making calls or sending texts. Just got tired of having a slow phone so I splurged and bought a One Plus 7 Pro after much research. What a fantastic phone. Definitely recommend the Stylo though if you don't want to spend much money on a phone. Especially if you like using a Stylus.

I originally got a Stylo because I have nerve damage in my hands and wrists. I was basically working full time with my smartphone at the time and my thumbs would lose feeling and I would get nerve pain. Also the stylus can be more efficient for some things, Swype is very easy with it.

Michael Lodge I left Verizon 4 years ago. They were charging me $56/month, for talk and text and no data.Boost gave me a free phone, not necessarily the newestd model,, but it was free plus $35/month talk, text, and 3gig of data. I've only using .75g, at most, streaming you tube, I've never regretted it. Bottom line, we all are looking for ways to maximize our outgoing dollars.

How about the speaker? I wouldn't expect audiophile quality, but good clarity at reasonably loud volume is what I'm looking for. I am looking to replace my ZTE Max XL, and the speaker on this thing is shockingly it blows away all other phones I've ever had. I listen to podcasts and stream movies on it all the time just using the external speaker.

For me, the stylo 4 was a really good budget phone. The only issue was the sd card compatibility. Being that nothing would download to my sd card but pictures and a little music. Aside from the limited storage it worked great.

I got one from Cricket as an upgrade from the Stylo 3. I like that it has 32GB internal memory as opposed to the 16GB on the Stylo 3. I like the phone and thought it is well worth the money. I was surprised that it has a Type C USB connection instead of the micro USB. You will need adaptors or new charging cables if you charge your phone in multiple places. I don't know why LG went to Type C USB.

Did I miss how much ram this device has? I have the Stylo 4 as a backup and it has 3gb of ram which makes it basically good for calls/texts, but anything else it is a little slow. If the 5 has at least 4-6gb of ram I will buy this asap.

Boost is having a deal for these phones. I think this phone is a good fit for me. I use to play alot of games on my phone, but since i got my switch i only use my phone for services and youtube and Facebook. I also draw so thats a plus.

Thestylis is good for people who have a physical impairment too. I had parts of my finger pads removed by a deli slicer and so they don't have enough pressure to activate the screen.

Think its worth upgrading to from the E5 Plus? I myself don't think it is, considering the Stylo 5 is almost identical to the 4. My E5 plus has been an awesome phone for me over the last 6 months.

Great review I saw it at my local carriers (Sprint) and was wondering about it. I wouldn't pick it up just for the simple fact that I need something with more under the hood in terms of chip set other then that it looks amazing. I currently have a LG V30 and love it (just wish it was on Android 9 Pie) and that gives me all I need for the gaming I do and what not. If they upgraded the chip set from mid range to flag ship I think a lot more would purchase it. Or have two options at least (budget and flag ship).

I have the LG Stylo 4+ through Boost Mobile running Android 8.1. Am I completely happy with it? No. I think I should have just ordered the LG V-10 and stayed where I was. The 4+ can not turn off Call Waiting, limit the number of messages to keep as on EVERY other cellphone I've had. This includes LG, HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Windows. Who knows, I may just go back to using my K-20 Plus.
