LG TV has no backlights no picture: fixed!

I have an Element smart Fire TV. It turns on and after a few minutes the video goes but I have backlight and sound, if I turn the TV off and on then it works again for a few minutes.. any idea? TCon board?

can you test the LED's with a multimeter?

You can test it with the diode function. But it has to be out of circuit. So. You can't really. You need a led tester .

I have LG 65ub9500 and I get no sound or video however if I leave TV on for 20 mins or so both video and sound come on and it’s fine till I shut it off for awhile. Sound like tcon, power, or main board? Thx

My tv is set up the same as far as the configuration and components. Where is the led inverter board? I'm assuming its built into the power board or the main board.

The lg logo appears before the screen cuts out and I have audio but no back lights. I'm hoping just to switch out the board that has the inverter built in. If it's the back lights themselves I'm probably just going to buy a new TV I guess. I really dont want to dig that deep into it

+ TECHIE LIFE I have Samsung TV 2016 and it has the standby light blinking. I changed the power board and the main board but still doing the samething, what other things could be the problem?

TECHIE LIFE there’s no sound or anything just the red blinking light by the power button. The model number is UN65j6200afxza

Cruz Ortiz check the back of the TV.. do you see a red light on the optical port. What about using the flashlight test. Could be that the tv does turn on, but maybe you have bad LEDs. Or maybe, you just got bad boards. Here's an easy test. Plug in only the power supply and the LEDs. They should come right on. Dont connect the main board. Then you'll see if you lower supply and LEDs are good.

Wouldn't it have been easier to unplug the main board from the power board and then just plug it and let the led's light up to see which ones don't light up?

No. LG does not turn on when the main board is disconnected. Only samsung will do this. Also it would depend if the led is in series or parallel circuit.
