Exceptional Video. I ordered the replacement screen with frame, this thing was a cake walk to fix yourself as long as you are delicate! Though a heat gun is needed, I did not have one, so I used an hair-dryer which worked just perfectly fine. Great!

Worked great for me. Parts are a little harder to get out than the video presents but that just means. You have you be VERY careful on removing parts. Also make sure you get all the old adhesive out before trying to put the new stuff in. The card didnt work for me to remove the screen i even bought a good heat gun so i just pried out the old shatter screen. Was careful not to bend the phones frame but in the end it worked great and everything works.

They always fake the damn screen removal ! Factory ones have GLUE !

its always annoying that these have been opened before prior to video.....screen doesnt come off that easy
@Chris-go9ti7 жыл бұрын
LOL it took me like 3 min to get the speaker off. Most of the items i was hoping would not rip. I guess if one were to watch this video you would probably destroy everything because you think it just falls off

Great video review: everything is very clear and understandable. But this refurbishment is only for people with skillful hands.

This looks like a little bit of a PITA but not the worst I've seen. I've repaired a lot of phone screens.

Total noob here and I was able to do it with no issues. Didn't even have the tweezers, just a tiny flat head screwdriver and all went well. Got my broken screen fixed :D

Is that whitish gray blob just above the battery some thermal paste? if so is it recommended that I put a small dot of arctic silver (I have plenty left since I do CPU stuff) if theres a bald spot on my replacement frame (it appears my frame/lcd is a working pull)?
@Jsfun6 жыл бұрын
Yes, remove the old thermal paste and put a new dot there. The stock thermal paste is very poor quality and can cause poor performance.

Does anyone know what the tiny green tabs are either side of the edge of the screen near the top of the phone? I have just bought a new LG V20 and one of them is sticking out from the phone.
@ibamars8 жыл бұрын
Thx for the video. I noticed you replaced the screen and digitizer by heating it up. If I buy the screen with frame, this removes that process it looks like as they are already assembled together and would just need to move over the extras such as headphone jack etc? Thx again for the awesome video. First time I ever broke a screen on a phone.
@Repairsuniverseusa8 жыл бұрын
Yes for a display with frame you would just need to transfer all of the small parts over to the new screen.

At about 3 minutes and 12 seconds you can see an item in yellow to the left of the speaker. I ripped mine removing it, looks like some sort of antenna, what is it?? They do not reference it in any of the screen replacement videos.Thanks
@nonstopfox7 жыл бұрын
kevin bell it's probably just a security sicker or strip. The manufacturer uses them to tell if the device has been tampered with
@Craig19675 жыл бұрын
I know what you are talking about. It goes to some sort of antenna that is paper thin on the top of the mid frame assembly that goes under the top bumper. I have yet to figure out what the antenna is for. I destroyed the antenna when trying to move it to the new screen assembly, but everything on the phone still works perfect.

Im wanting to know the same thing, I ripped mine trying to peel it off, everything seems to work on the phone so far though???????
@nonstopfox7 жыл бұрын
It's probably just a security sticker for the manufacturer to keep track of device tampering
@Chris-go9ti7 жыл бұрын
i take it you got the one with the frame. That is an antenna. its as thin as clear tape. I removed it but the whole " move everthing' took longer than i wanted. Plus nothing is replaceable if you destroy it.
@Chris-go9ti7 жыл бұрын
the white thing on the top of the phone is an antenna.

hey man im wondering the same thing. is your phone still working fine without that yellow sticker thing? Are the signals, reception, gps etc the same? did you notice any faults?

is it possible to just replace the glass?
@tmthylthm8 жыл бұрын
I'm wondering this as well. Spending $6 for just the glass as opposed to $100 for the whole assembly is something I'm willing to consider, if I can find a guide to replace the glass instead of the whole assembly..
@Repairsuniverseusa8 жыл бұрын
Glass only replacement requires specialized machinery and is outside the scope of our videos.
@MrCheeesee7 жыл бұрын
I just tried and busted the LCD. Now I had to pay $100 for the whole front assembly lmao. Oh well, live and learn.
@SJBrianexe7 жыл бұрын
I've put up with my glass being broken for about 2 months (LCD/touch were working fine) until one day I started getting lines and broken LCD ink blots in some spots (and the phone was gently used without any accidents after that cracking) My point is, the LCD/digitizer/glue layer/front glass is such a very delicate sandwich that it is more than likely that almost any attempt to fix just the glass will screw up the entire project if you dont have very fancy machinery that shops use. I am just a DIY'er and I bought a glass and I couldn't ever muster the guts to replace just the glass. So now i am replacing my entire lcd/midframe assembly to be safe.

If you are one of those people who say. Oh i will just buy one with the frame on it . DONT. I have been fixing phones since the razr flip and this phone frame has too many non replaceable parts that can rip. One being the thin as tape antenna up top. Just buy the LCD and some good tape .
