Great video, and interesting that one can install the door gasket without taking the machine apart. IMPORTANT NOTE: Unless I missed it, the video does not include reconnecting the drain line after reinstalling the rear spring clamp 🙂 The video mentions the drain line and putting its spring clamp on at 7:20-7:40, but the video does not go back to that after the rear clamp is in place.

I wished I saw this earlier. I took apart my 20 year old LG washing machine and changed it out. Now I have a door lock problem. Switched out the lock and the door is still failed. 20 years. I gave up and got a new washer

Great video Scott! Would you happen to know if the process is the same on the LG Washtower? We got some clothes stuck in the door and it ripped the gasket.

Hi Edward, Can you please send me the model number for your wash tower to scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com

The noolze connector was damaged by a rat. I have a washer tower too . I was wondering if I could replace it without opening the front panel
@chaiti278 ай бұрын
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I had a rat chew up the connector nozzle . I have a thinq washtower. Can I replace the connector nozzle without having to remove the front panel for the tower. It's really heavy and I can't seem to figure out or find a vedio on how to remove the panel

is the inner spring the same size as the one on the outer door? I believe mine is broken & will need replaced. Thank you for this video btw. Very informative & saved me a lot of money!

For anyone who doesn't have the fancy pliers, you can use a wrench and some zip ties... something like a 10m open end/12point other end.. You zip the spring looks to the wrench ends and get the same results as the 80 dollar pliers. It works if you don't do this often and don't need yet another tool that never gets used and take up space in the toolbox Just an idea Thats how I got my seal off to clean and reinstall as it wasn't as bad as the one in this video, so I reused it. All I did is soak it in a pail of hot water with one of those washer cleaning pucks and scrubbed it clean than rinse, dry and put back on

Also a q tip worked great to clean the little drain connector for the the seal bottom, just like in this video mine was completely full of gunk and hair. A steam cleaner works really well for cleaning these washers .. no need to soak the seal or replace it.... just blast the gunk off.

Is it possible to take off the rear clamp without the pricey pliers? Going to DIY in a week..at least I will try 🤞🤞
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Жыл бұрын
You can sometimes borrow that tool from a local tool library 👍
@EdFiggs6 ай бұрын
I was able to do it with a flat head screw driver. But be careful not to over do it.

I found it easier to take the whole front panel off, to have more space to work with.
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Жыл бұрын
Yep, This works well if you have a stacked dryer and it’s hard to remove the dryer 👍

Amazon sells the same pliers for 15ish bucks. Work just as good
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Жыл бұрын
They only work if you remove the front panel. The bent type works if the front panel is still on but they’re pricey.

One of the worst repairs I have ever done. If you do this, save yourself hours and look up the wrench and zip tie hack. No human can stretch that spring by hand

Worked for me, but had to incorporate a knee to hold the left side in place. Lol
