Thank you! I watched many other videos and tried quite a few things, to no avail. I was ready to give it up given the generally reported 10-year life-span for such machines. I made a last-ditch attempt after watching this video, ordered a HAL sensor on eBay (half the price than on Amazon), replaced the old sensor it worked! So glad I did not have to recycle such a big machine. A mistake I made at one point was to use liquid lock when I suspected the thread loss being the problem. It wasn't but then I could not take it apart again without damaging the plastic rotator. Fortunately that part was not too expensive. In total I spent about $50 (on Amason and eBay) for the two parts, and a week of wait.

Super helpful video. I just replaced the rotor. I have some questions though because the machine still gives the LE error...and now also getting a PF error. When doing a full load after replacing the rotor, the washing machine kept giving the LE error and the PF error. I took out 1 sweats and 1 sweater and it stopped giving the LE error. However, when on the spin cycle I can hear a metallic hitting clanking sound as it ramps up in speed and comes down. I'm not sure what I need to replace at this point. With no load it spins at 118 rpm during spin test phase. Is this just a full replace at this point or can is this a way to fix this by myself?

@juslookin36 ай бұрын
Because you replaced the whole motor, with the Hall sensor, I'm unsure of the diagnosis. To get the LE error, I'd think that the spindle was not turning the rotor completely. You did mention a ratcheting sound. For clarification, did the splines look truly stripped--as opposed to just worn--as if the rotor wasn't rotating 100% with the spindle? Also, for clarification, the stator didn't need replacement?

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Thanks. For my GE washer. WPGT9350COWW, officially, the sensor is considered part of the stator, and wasn't sold separately by GE when they still sold parts for this 20 y/o washer. However, a guy online said that an LG sensor is compatible. (An eBay seller also sells an LG inverter board as compatible with my washer.) There's no part number on my sensor. I can't find a trustworthy source online to confirm such compatibility assertions. What is your reference for such part cross-brand compatibility? More specifically, if you have reliable source that I can't see, can you tell me the part number for the sensor I need to replace? Question: I have replaced the rotor, wire housing and the sensor and I still get the error. One other piece of info, after changing the rotor and sensor, I heard the grind and received the error again after about 15 mins, however I was able to do spin/rinse cycle all the way through with no grind noise, but still eventually received the error, so I ordered the wires and replaced that Today, still receiving the error. Yet when I choose a normal "cotton" wash , the digits on the panel show "5 : 35" , that's over 5 hours ! @@vilentlycalm6869 I'm sorry, but I do not really catch where you are going with your reply. It does not answer my question.
@NicBroo2 жыл бұрын
@@vilentlycalm6869 so basically their 10 year warranty on the motor is a way to get people to think this is somehow superior to anything else out there, or as though they stand behind their product, when in reality they don't. At all. It still cost us almost the same as if there was no 10 year motor warranty. The service call fee, the pricey LG technician rate to fix anything wrong with the motor, on a 5 year old machine, was incredibly frustrating after buying what was supposed to be one of their top of the line machines. I'm mad that I fell for it. We faced either paying hundreds to LG to repair/replace the motor, with no guarantees on how much we'd end up spending on repairs and service calls in the end to get the machine to run for another few years, or we had to scrap on a 5 year old, VERY expensive washer, and replace it with new. The motor was not the first issue we had with this washer, and while I LOVED my pedestal washer underneath, I don't think I can ever feel comfy with the risk of another LG appliance. My recent Whirlpool experience was that they were much more accessible, cooperative and reasonably priced for repair issues, compared to LG.
