Thank you so much for your DIY video and directlng me to where and what part to buy. It solved the problem and I'm happy to say the repair, done by a friend with the right tools, cost a total of about $12.00. What a relief to be able to avoid a $200 or so repair on an LG service call.

Your wonderful video combined with one other one, just saved this single gal HUNDREDS of dollars! After having a battle royale with a terrible appliance repair company (I know they are not all bad), I ended up fixing it MYSELF! Your video specifically taught me it could JUST be the hall sensor, which it WAS!!! Mine, just like the one in your video, JUST ended up being a bad hall sensor, which I purchased for $17! I also purchased the new stator assembly and motor harness, but will be returning them both since the new hall sensor did the trick, on my old stator assembly! Thanks so very much again! GIRL POWER!!! (with the help of your great video!) And...2 loads of laundry done so far, and working like a charm!

Is there a way to test the sensor to see if it’s OK or not? I’ve got the same problem I have removed it. I’ve seen other videos where they do a test on the sensor. My sensor appears to be OK the stater appears to be OK.

Is it also called a rotor position sensor?
@samh409311 ай бұрын
Did you arrive at the Hull sensor being bad because the rotor moved fine and there was no breakage in the wiring? I just wanted to know how you figured that to be the culprit?
@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel11 ай бұрын
That right, that points to a bad Hall Sensor.

Steve the appliance guy in Las Vegas .Some of you people out there in LG land or Kenmore( yes if you bought a newer Kenmore front load washer in the model number starts with 796 you have an LG) washer land may have bought a front load of that does not have a Hall sensor. If your wire harness checks out good and the teeth on the road are good then unfortunately you're only choice is really to replace the main board which now takes the function of the hall sensor. Main board is usually attached to the back cabinet of the machine it is a pain in the ass to replace but for those of you who do not have Hall sensors it may be your only choice other than a new washing machine.

Good video with one MAJOR flaw. You apparently did not put LocTite on the flywheel bolt when you replaced it. That is used for a reason! You are setting up a future problem where the bolt can loosen and cause damage to the spline... that metal piece you pulled off costs about 90 bucks....

What do you do if you have NO hall sensor,?
@daveengstrom92502 жыл бұрын
My machine was purchased in 2015 or 16. I have that "quiver" sort of thing going on and an LE code. I replaced the Hall sensor and also the motor wire harness. It did not fix the problem. All of the videos I have watched replace the same part as you did, some also replace the wires I mentioned. There seems to be no videos of what to do next after that does not fix the problem. Got any ideas? I don't want to just "try" the stator as that part is about $200. I was willing to gamble on the first 2 parts as they cost about $70. But, I am done trying. I need to KNOW what the bad part is.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I thought my problem was a worn out hub but it was effectively a sensor issue. Thanks. The funny thing is that the LE error went away when I replaced the hub. But after I replaced the hub, it made a grinding sound and I kept thinking the rotor is rubbing against something. I do not understand how a bad sensor can be the root cause of the grinding noise but it was the root cause.

remember ...careful...things are sharp inside the machine...i cut myself every time,still...200$ would be a cheap at home service call...dont fear, you can do it...even if its the board...a bit more expensive tho...ive seen them as low as 150$...not high at all when you consider its a 1300$ washer ,and it has done so well for a long time...and on the sanitize setting i think this lg washer is unbeatable...not as durable as a kenmore 80 series, but gets stuff way cleaner...i did buy the service manual for like 20$..it had some specs that i could have found on the internet, but i had to be sure..and thats the only way i could be sure...something else that might be helpful that i dont see on any of the tutorials...there is a fuse in the little box where the power cord first comes in...if you are getting no power at all check there ...i got zero reading from my hall sensor...easy fix ,right??replaced it , still didnt work...im gonna ohm the new one, and then find the old one and check again with my new multi meter...yay meter !!! stuff piled up that needed fixed...this will be fun, i love a challenge...good luck and happy tinkering...safety first

Might want to check the wires coming down to the hall sensor from the controller. You might have an internal break where the wire stay is.
