@@gjopp7251 um, but inclusivity is defined as giving people equal opportunies in representation and rights and so many more important parts of our lives. Cishet allo mono people who belong to the majority of the straight demographic cannot be classified as non-cishet allo mono people based on how supportive they are of human rights. Thus including them in the category doesn't make much sense... however this doesn't mean that they aren't allowed to live with and support the community to the fullest. A straight person can accompany their bi spouse to a parade A cis person can accompany their trans spouse to the community. A CHAMP relative can support their relatives Even if you dont have connections, you are welcome to support LGBT people. Just maybe not be classified as one. However since I am heterosexual, I'm "excluded" from the community. It's contradictory - discriminatory based on MY sexual and gender orientation. I was wondering... I was thinking for the bisexual, it shouldn’t be shown as a point between heterosexual and homosexual because many bisexuals have a preference or a leaning attraction, or the majority of their attractions are to the opposite/same sex. Bisexuality can also be fluid and change over time. For myself, for example, I find that generally I have a leaning towards same sex attractions, physically and emotionally, but it's also fluid and I find myself more interested in the opposite sex some days than others. I think you should have showed it on a spectrum like you did intersex. Other than that, fantastic video! How this would have made my life easier to see in school...
@bamboo-31256 жыл бұрын
Your sexual orientation could be fluid. I get this a lot too, actually. I'm mostly attracted to people of the same sex but there are days that I feel like I like the opposite sex way more than the same. I think it still counts as bisexual because you still like males and females it just fluctuates.
@keck3216 жыл бұрын
That's what Bi is... You don't need a spectrum for that, just love who you want.
@checkmate24896 жыл бұрын
keck321 but many people have a leaning towards one gender. Some people may have more attractions to the same gender more than the opposite, but they identify as bisexual just like someone who has more attractions to the opposite gender more than the same. That means it shouldn’t be shown as a point between heterosexual and homosexual. It can also be fluid, another reason it should be a spectrum.
@checkmate24896 жыл бұрын
Bàmboo - yeah, I identify as bisexual pretty much because it's the easiest for people to understand, but I also could go by/connect with/ identify with others, like queer, fluid, pansexual, etc. Basically, I think anyone who is attracted to same and opposite gender/s can identify as bisexual if they want to. I don’t like to think of it as a limiting term that is 50/50, only includes binary genders, only attraction to 2 genders, etc. :)
@keck3216 жыл бұрын
Wolf Heart you just made my point... bi is exactly that... you like both sexes... maybe not equally, which is rare as fuck. We don’t need 50 definitions to say that you like both. Why do we need all these definitions to say “I like guys and girls?”

No, this doesn’t need to be taught in school. There’s never been a specific class for discussing sexual or romantic attraction, and the problem with that would be bias with teachers probably teaching more in favor of their own and making it something that should be on the forefront of children’s minds. No kind of attraction is taught; it’s something you discover within your own life. Yes, it’s more common for heterosexual and cisgendered people to exist, but it’s not taught. If it were, then people who don’t fall under that category wouldn’t exist. Wonder how long it’ll take to get this reply taken down...

Much appreciated and thank you. Inherently, your last slide of respect and empathy is the core, I mean how else do people go about existing with each other, but the terminology is a god send. Thanks

sexual orientation is not based on gender. It's based on sexual attraction to either the same sex, opposite sex or both sexes. If you are attracted to someone because they look like a member of the sex you are typically attracted to, that's ok, sexual attraction has a lot to do with appearances.

I really want to show this video to my parents. I identify as lesbian and they claim to accept and support me, but they don't respect me. My mother thinks that I'm lesbian for attention, and my father completely ignores my sexuality. For an example of my mother: Once, I asked my parents if I was allowed to have a girlfriend since I was at the same age my sister was when she got a boyfriend. My mother yelled no and gave me a angry expression. For an example of my father: When my sister asked if she could go out on a date with a guy, my dad turned to me and said, "It's too bad he doesn't have a cute younger brother."

1. Allies aren’t part of the community. A is for abrosexual, abroromantic, asexual, aromantic, and agender. 2. Bigender just means someone who experiences 2 genders. Not necessarily male and female. 3. Your pronouns don’t necessarily have to match your gender identity. Some boys use gender neutral or feminine pronouns, some girls use neutral or masculine pronouns, some non-binary people use feminine and/or masculine pronouns, some non-binary people use both they and he or she. There are way more terms, but I’ll give some grace there because it’s impossible to fit them all on a single paper. You’re welcome for correcting your mistakes. (Sorry if I misheard/misunderstood some of your words.)

Honey, I get that allies will never fully understand the experiences that people in the community go through, but there are hardships that aren't necessarily about sexuality/gender, and as much as we support you, it's kind of mean to say we don't belong in the same space as you do. I feel like every human goes through an identity chrisis once in their lives, and maybe our chrisis have more in common than you think.

I am a Gay man and it has taken me many years to get to the place i am at with acceptance for myself and the many others whom surround me. When i came out at 14 the acronym was LGBT and as the years progress more and more letters have been added. I agree that some letters fit and some don't. I just wonder how long it will become before it morphs into its own language. I have started an outreach program that strives to educate and create awareness about the LGBT community. This video is packed with a lot information that can be used to educate almost anyone and the bottom line is Acceptance. When we are able to reach into ourselves and shine our lives become better as a whole.
