鏈縁无現里 ～ Evanescent Existence - Unreal Mode 1cc (Tsubakura)

From the same guy that makes those April Fools PC-98 Touhou remake videos.
Evanescent Existence is the first game in JynX's Len'en Series, with two games free to download and the third being released this Comiket.
Unreal is the highest difficulty in the game and it's quite a thing.
Tsubakura, the shottype I'm using, is unlocked by beating the Extra stage with the normal shottype Yabusame. Whereas Yabusame's specialty is screen coverage and homing with a powerful shotgun, Tsubakura's specialty is powerful forward focus attacks.
The stage 3 boss therefore changes depending on what character you're playing as, as you'll always fight the other main character.
Stage 1 is quite difficult with Tsubakura as she's too weak at low power to effectively kill everything. Her level 3 power is also awkward in that it's actually weaker than her high level 2 power. This is of course offsetted once you reach level 4 and 5.
Yes, the controls are reversed on the final spellcard of the stage 3 boss.
It doesn't translate well in video but the first spellcard of the final boss pushes you down and the second pulls you in. There is a same effect going on on her bomb spellcard.
You actually get a screen clear for collecting a 1-up, which you can use to cancel the first two waves of her first attack. I kind of messed it up.
In general for stages you want to quickly speedkill everything as you'll quickly get destroyed if you don't.
1cc'ing Unreal Mode unlocks Absurdly Extra Mode.
I haven't had this much trouble unlocking an extra stage in 5 years, it's quite nostalgic.
More games should do this.

This game is awesome! I really like how the bosses stick with their gimmicks instead of being all over the place like in many fangames. 12:08 makes my head spin. 24:11-24:43 - cute trick! 28:30 - looks like authentic ZUN art! Congrats on the clear.

Danmakuklopper-kun Nope. In the Story Mode, you still play the Tsubafake. In the Extra Stage however, you play as the normal Tsubakura.

In a way I feel the game wasn't designed for Tsubakura, considering how many spells you can beat before they really get to you. Of course, I'm not complaining, I wish I could play as Tsubakura! Beating the game with Yabusame is hard ('^ ^)

if you look closely at 27:57 , that last spellcard phase, i think theirs a way to dodge it by going up close to the gravity circle and moving left right while unfocused. my input from what i see if that works XD

I have been ever thought this game is not possible to finish without continue by playing as Tsubakura. She don't have a wide shot and homing shot. And 2 initial bombs stock is not enough. But you can done this eventually. Monochrome Ray is powerful!

What in the Green Hills is even going on here? I only needed some context because VGM Extensions extended the ost for something I had zero idea about but instead I ran into one hell of a language barrier instead trying to get context for a game that looked like something ZUN would make in the past. Never really noticed how easy it was to mimic his older art style.

I got this game, but it crashes at varying times during Stage 1 or early on in Stage 2. I might be ignorant of something here; does anyone have any ideas? Maybe it's just the fact that I'm running Windows 8.1, or perhaps a bad dump during download?

You must download v1.20a and use english patch. Choose Easy Mode and choose Light Level. You re %96 successfully can clear game.

Credit Clear. It's an old arcade term. "1cc" means to clear the game on one credit (continue). Something I've unsuccessfully been trying to accomplish with this game for several hours now...

Mea K Thats normal, this game is pretty unbalanced tbh. Yabusume's shot type is 2x worse than Tsubakura's in every possible, the difficulty of stages seem to bounce around an you barely ever get extends. Also, some of the spellcards in this game are just ridiculous.
