Thank you for sharing, How about sealing your pieces of paper a few time in mod podge before adding the resin. I do that each time I want to do a book mark with printed paper!

I was pondering this as well... but I feel like because the covers are larger, there may be a bit of wavy-ness or wrinkling... I may have to test it though!

It still looks pretty and I am sure you will find a better alternative to the mistake. I was thinking maybe a clear spray varnish should help coat the paper better. I have tried it with photos printed on cardstock and then added to resin with no problem.

Thank you! I have had hit-and-miss success with spray varnish on paper that goes into resin... so I wanted to try something a little different on this one...I may try both on the next one!

Super cool design...I made 1 of these and thought I got a bad mold with the flaws in it but glad to know it's not just mine. They should really fix that issue. And hate that it only comes with 1 mold.,.hard to color match if u can't pour all at once. Can't wait to see the fixed version.

Whatever your preference is, it can work either way 😊 I prefer this way so the spine of the book is on the hinge of the purse.

You should have smooth the contact paper on both sides of each paper design before sticking to resin box half’s and then resin ~ that usually works for me!

Interesting idea... why on both sides? Would that have helped with the corner issue? Not sure how that would've been different...?

I have thoughts... put all sides on the clear contract paper so it's all 1 sheet so u can fold it like a box. Take a nails sponge buffer n dull the surface since resin doesn't like to stick to shiny surfaces. Then u could just put it n2 the mold n cast it with clear resin. Ur the expert though n it was just my thoughts 😘

I would have made it clear. Then laminate the cover , glue it in the inside of the bag.

ooh interesting idea! my only issue is the the sides of the mold have that rough pattern I was showing...maybe a clear topcoat would help but not sure...

@LiaDiaDesigns You still can use the rough pattern. You just have to cut it to make it fit. Or use decal paper , then once it's on the purse. Spray a clear top coat on top. But before you spray cover the hardware with masking tape.

@@bettywest5524 sorry - I meant the imperfections created by the mold itself, I showed it in the video on the sides of the demolded resin purse shell, large, rough looking rectangular/square indentations from the silicone mold...that is going to be more difficult to cover (a clear resin topcoat may disguise it, but I'm not sure). Your idea for the paper design on the inside of the purse shell is great otherwise!
