We end up in this space where Lip's anger makes complete sense, but so do Fiona's tears. There's no shiny hero, no mustache-twirling villain. And it's all thanks to this fucking elite-tier acting, writing, cinematography, editing, whatever. I'm sad that Shameless could never really re-create the vibe of this season.

Wait, are we all on the same planet? Didn't we just see the coke head leave a packet on the table before she could kick him out of the house? I get that she should've been attentive around a kid but heck that guy deserves all the hell and derision these commenters are throwing at Fiona.
@mckymcobvious30435 ай бұрын
rite? she freaked out and made the guy leave! like, she chased him with a bat! idk why Lip is being told to hire a lawyer... him and.. what money??! seriously tho, it WAS an accident... idk HOW that would even happen, I know kids are dumb af, but coke does not TASTE GOOD, if it was cut with enough powdered sugar to be _delicious,_ IS there _even_ enough of the _actual dr ug_ to hurt anyone? I caught my 3 year old cousin eating this bright blue potting plant fertilizer bc of it's color. his mom always had wintergreen gum around, so at least it made sense. "it's the right size and color, and it's _usually_ delicious... idk, maybe the next one will taste better??" very dumb, but it makes _sense._ I've also seen my neighbor/piano teacher's 1 year old eat at least 1 handful of DIRT from the garden! so again, not brilliant, probably came from that natural oral fixation we all have as infants exploring things. "this is pretty intriguing; I wonder what it'll feel like in my mouth, where a ton of NERVES are!" Liam, on the other hand, is between 3 and 4 years old, does NOT witness dr ug use in front of him, the way many children unfortunately do, which may make him associate powder in little baggies with fun parties, good moods and the people around him who he perceives as 'grown ups' around him getting to partake, but telling him that it's not for him to use... that might make him feel intrigued by little baggies with powder, and he may want to emulate the older kids who get to do 'grown up stuff' so he'd actually know that they dump it out, cut lines and then snort it. it's _possible_ that he's seen FRANK do lines of powder offscreen, but that's the only person irresponsible enough to even THINK about doing lines in front of a toddler. but he's between 3 and 4 years old. I KNOW 3-4 year olds are pretty du, but are they really still _eating handfuls of DIRT_ dumb?? do they let him eat straight sugar from the pantry?? WHY would he eat a bunch of chemical-tasting powder? at least Lip isn't going to continue kicking Fiona while she's down and essentially blaming _her_ for the parentification _he's_ experiencing, given how hard _she's_ always worked to keep everyone fed, clothed and together starting at the LATEST by the ripe old age of SIX and the warmth and support _she_ provided for _him_ when he was continuously f-ing up and was at his lowest! surely _that's not_ where this is going... right?? ... RIGHT?!?

Sure, the silent treatment dragged a little too long, but Lip is justified in his anger and resentment towards Fiona. Whether you like Fiona or not, there is no need to keep making excuses up for her actions, whether intentional or not. Most of S3 was her fighting for custody for siblings and proving she could care for them. Fiona definitely fucked up here, but I don't think it's fair to compare her to Monica. Monica had 6 kids and abandoned them all, leaving Fiona to sacrifice her childhood to raise her siblings while Monica and Frank went and did whatever. Fiona literally kept them all alive, fed and safe under one roof for years despite everything stacked against her, and her one fuck up doesnt compare to their parents' years of intentional neglect. Especially because she knew she fucked up and showed remorse. If it were Frank he probably would've said "Oh well, he's still alive isn't he?" and kept doing exactly what he was doing.

Lip is 100% in the right. You cant confuse an accident with negligence. Negligence isnt an accident. She left if out, around a toddler in the house who is unable to discern the difference between that and sugar. That was a negligent action on Fionas part and she needs to accept that this is her fault. This wasnt an accident, this was a poor negligent action and a downright horrible action. Coming from somebody whos studying these cases and learning about CPS as we speak. Negligence isnt the same thing as an accident. The coke never shouldve even entered the house.

Lip always wanted to be the head of the family so he did this after only one time that fiona messed up. He left the family alone for that $lutty girlfriend who was carrying someoneelse's child. He knew fiona was doing way more, he just wanted to feel special. Fiona deserved so much better than this shameless sibling.

I dont really want to blame Fiona for this. But still, she KNEW the coke was around and partook in it ONLY because things in her life were fucked up. Why I don't want to blame her? That brother of her ex kept harassing her, messing with her trying to toy with her. If he hadn't been such a dick and left her the coke, Fiona probably wouldnt have taken any and probably just gotten drunk and stoned as usual. Liam wouldnt have gotten hurt.

if Fiona was imprisoned for a long time the kids would be done for. Lip would never care about them nor take as much care of them as Fiona did. crazy how he acts towards her when she raised him and given up everything for him. he would NEVER do the same. he was too big of a loser to stay in university, imagine if he had to raise the kids. Fiona deserved a better brother

I really hate Lip. He acts as if he’s the golden child even tho he’s an alcoholic who didn’t even finish college.
@brianawhittaker81527 ай бұрын
He's not acting like he's the golden child he never once said he was perfect. You can tell Fiona feels like shit but there's no justification for what she did. I'm sorry doesn't cut it especially when liam could've lost his life bc there's NOTHING that can replace it.

LOL yeah Fiona did a bad thing, doing drugs with a child in the room. But people forget the whole f-ing tree is fu**ed up. Look at the parents, look at their "home" life. Why are we expecting so much out of this person? Not the first time she fu**ed up, remember the arms incident? Leaving weapons hidden everywhere in the house and fiona still got shii for that? Lets not forget her supposed "parents" purposely tried to give this child some molly. Debbi too btw. And fiona was the only one who jumped in to stop him from drinking too 😂😂😂 Dude didnt react that hard then, did he? Double standard mofo gotta look himself hard in the mirror 😂😂😂😂

No. Frank left them for dead. Fiona kept them all alive and together since she was a child herself. You gotta try to understand why she would crack eventually.
