Somehow it's more efficient than just putting in a solid driver and trying to make the relationship work.

@digitalgulby4 күн бұрын
Daniel was fired for lack of performance. It doesn’t have anything to do with him.
@lassebasseish3 күн бұрын
@digitalgulby It does. Sure, if Daniel had handedly beaten Yuki, then he would have been first in line, Perez wouldn't have gotten a new contract and Liam would have been given the VCarb seat in 2026. So part of it is obviously due to Dani's performances. BUT if Red Bull actually considered Yuki as a real contender, they wouldn't have bothered kicking out Dani to test Liam for only a few races. They would have let Daniel finish the season and then moved Yuki or Daniel up and let Liam have the empty VCarb seat next season. Letting Dani go had more to do with getting more data on Liam vs Tsunoda, to be sure that moving Liam to the first team wouldn't be as big of a gamble. Dani was par with Yuki, but performed worse when the car was more able to score points. Based on this season, there is no reason to believe that Ricciardo would have been a worse second driver to Max compared to Tsunoda (on pure pace maybe, but not as a complete package). In short, kicking out Tsunoda wouldn't make any sense, but they clearly aren't considering him for the main team, so they kicked out Daniel to give Liam some time in a car in case Perez didn't improve.

@TheDukeofBox3 күн бұрын
Im sorry but you cant compare testing vs actual racing. Yuki had sooo much time to improve - 4 seasons, 2 of which have been unconvincing at best. Lawson hasnt even had half a season and immediately he has been close to Yuki in pace and less of a liability. Stop crying, yuki has had a great opportunity to show what he’s capable of of and hopefully he can continue for many more years in F1. He’s not been kicked out just yet.
@yeangnicholson86403 күн бұрын
I was comparing testing in relation to their first 11 races in F1 - Liam had far more preparation for those comparing their first 11 races. I don’t think Liam is quite as good as Yuki at this moment but that’s because of the years of experience Yuki has. It took him two years to start seeing real improvement but Red Bull don’t want to recognise and reward him for it. Liam has potential but so does Yuki - I don’t think he’s hit the ceiling of his potential yet, I think he’s going to continue getting better. Why not give Liam a chance to lead a team (RB) before stepping up to Red Bull to one day leading that team.

If I was Yuki I'd just buy out the contract and be a reserve at Aston
@Matt041084 күн бұрын
not sure that is going to help him. If Newey develops a good car and Alonso retires finally, they will be looking to get someone like Max in it, not have a Stroll / Tsunoda pairing.

I guess it won't be long until we see Yuki in Aston Martin green. I doubt he will want to sit on the RB second team forever. It's sad - as a Red Bull fan, I would have loved to cheer on the Yuki/Max duo next year. Liam may be the better choice, but it is definitely the less exciting choice!

Eight drivers titles in 14 years and you're not convinced? You want more? In five years you'll look back and add Lawson to the list.
@The123Orion1232 күн бұрын
Looking at the data between the two, Lawson is far and away the obvious choice. He had some bad luck which made Yuki appear better than he was by comparison. But that is pretty obvious to anyone that isn’t a one eyed Yuki fan. The only thing in Yuki’s favour is time served.

RedBull had the perfect opportunity mid season to just swap perez and liam and compare the two. See if it is just the car for Perez, and see how Liam does under the spotlight.

The right choice. Lawson has been very close to Yuki while never having had a car built around him. Yuki is at his top, Liam has much more growth potential.

Yuki does not have the temperament to drive at a top team. And no, Yuki does not "deserve" the seat. If he was good enough to warrant the extra consideration needed to deal with his demeanor, he would be there. 5:41: What the heck are you on about LOL? Checo helped them win Championships and came in SECOND in 2023. He was a perfectly fine partner for Max up until now. He has lost his confidence, just like Danny Ric, and that means it is time to go.
@alicekoppenol-pitti62574 күн бұрын
Funny to read all the F1 manager reactions. Some are very one dimensional. We as spectators are only privy to the ongoings in a team on a superficial level so to say Yuki has done enough to warrant a place at the big team is a bit dense. I stand by my opinion that Yuki won't stand a chance against the pressers and content creators that love to crucify a driver for the smallest of transgression and that will affect his driving.

Yuki is out with Honda at the end of the year. I think that that Red Bull didn't appreciate their engine supplier forcing a driver on them. Thus the Ford deal, and this snub.

Feel bad for Liam, man. People who can’t add more than 2 numbers together getting mad a him personally, and Red Bull putting him above 2 fan favorites in both his promotions so far. Kid’s just trying to make his dream happen and he’s having controversy forced upon him
@alexherman774 күн бұрын
While it’s not all his fault I don’t think he’s blameless for the pushback he’s getting. He has not statistically outperformed Yuki by any notable margin and has already gone out of his way to antagonize Perez and Alonso who each have massive fan bases. He also has shown to have a head loss moment in him (see Mexico) like Yuki but for some reason Red Bull see that as an asset for him while for Tsunoda it’s “instability” and the double standard comes off as obvious. Even though F1 has decades of history proving that pure talent and results is not enough to get a top drive people are still surprised and angered when the statistics and/or logic don’t back up a team’s driver decision.

Facts, he keeps getting thrown in difficult “perform or you’re out” situations with half the F1 fanbase praying on his downfall I think that’s part of the mental toughness, constantly having to prove everyone wrong

At this point does anybody even care anymore? And they wonder why Yuki has emotional outbursts after years of being sidelined for no reason...wow the thought baffles the mind. Being capricious will ruins some aspect of the team even if it is only the trust within working relationships between future drivers after the verstappen or even now....people wont want to go after the development curve leaves you behind which it will eventually noone is on top forever and then drivers will say yeah if it werent for the management id loke to help red bull mand develop but i'm going to get fired randomly and have nothing but a shadow of a comfortable working enviornment. Oh well i still like lawson alot so lets see him and max crash into each other if he starts to come close to verstappen in timing and in the race. Like your big sister spilling your drink when your 4 then calling your mom in the room and blaming it on you for no reason 😅. Good luck Liam i'm rooting for you.

What on earth does Yuki need to do to be considered for that seat? Yuki has beaten every single driver not named Gasly that RB has thrown at him. I'm not upset at Liam, he didn't do anything wrong here. However, RB, this is extremely disappointing.

McLaren has set the new standard with Lando and Oscar, and every other team is using this formula as the new template. Just look at the teams blooding rookies, Haas, Sauber/audi, Mercedes, Alpine, Racing Bulls (pending) and now RedBull. Liam has more experience than all these new rookies, so if you look at the big picture RB are already ahead of all these teams.
@Duval-In-The-Wall4 күн бұрын
Correct, also because Red Bull’s “backup plan” was one of Lando/Oscar, because they were better than the midfield McLaren’s resurgence surprised everyone, meant that two of the hottest commodities were off the market Hence, teams like Mercedes and Red Bull need to develop their own talent
