I still think that the new regulations should be microhybrid, where the power train is built around a V8 or V10, but teams can add 40 kg of motors+batteries. It would encourage teams to come up with lighter batteries and motors however they see fit, but electrification won't dominate the car. It's kind of what you see with modern cars. Teams will still be encouraged to squeeze the most out of the limited weight budget if 40 kg for battery and motor, and the electronics will help, but they won't necessarily make or break the car. It would also help in significantly reducing the weight since they can only have 40 kg (or whatever they choose) of batteries and electric motors. This would encourage innovation without ruining the sport and would keep the cars closer to the hybrids coming out in the future. The cost cap will make sure things don't get out of hand spending wise. I would postpone the new rules a year or two and scrap the current 2026 plans for the microhybrid plan. I'm not sure if the V8 or V10 should be naturally aspirated or not.
@bigsmooshflopdong3323 күн бұрын
If you include a bio fuel source, you just may be onto something with this. Bringing back v8's or v10's for the sack of the sound and the show is on everyone's wishlist. Keeping the hybrid aspect there but more open to interpretation will just move hybrid technology further in the right direction and spot on with how the actual car industry is going. This is a pretty great starting point, you get my vote dude.

23:50 recency bias. When you actually compare Liam's 11 GPs to Yuki's first 11, you find that Yuki had a 9th, a 12th, a 15th, a DNF, a 16th, a 17th, a 13th, a 10th, a 12th, a 10th and a 6th for a total of 12 points And Liam has had a 13th, an 11th, a 9th, an 11th, a 17th, a 9th, a 16th, a 9th, a 16th, a 14th, and a 17th for a total of 6 points. Yuki has had MUCH better highs and equal lows (DNF 2021 Spain was engine failure, not crash) So no, I don't wanna hear the hype on Lawson, Yuki was better when he came in and only one DNF happened because of a collision in 2021. And let's also not forget that last year we were all on board with "points down to p12 so Yuki can have actual points instead of p11 all the time" I'm actually at the point where I'm rooting for Liam to fail (if he gets selected) just so that all of you can learn that Yuki was the correct choice Edit: changed 18pts to 12pts as someone correctly pointed out. All F1 Drivers take note: yelling at the media that "you have a contract," or "you're still here," is about as useless as a toddler on ice skates. @randyrandleman565323 күн бұрын
Something I haven't seen mentioned about why RBR might have chosen Lawson is his adaptability. Everyone is always talking about how difficult to driver the RBR car is, maybe they think Lawson has the skills to adapt to the difficult car that Max seems to like better than Tsunoda. Lawson has proven to be very fast across multiple categories. His last 3 full racing seasons he finished 3rd in F2, 2nd in DTM (as a rookie and crushing teammate Albon), and 2nd in Super Formula (as a rookie), that's great performance in 3 very different cars.

What’s the point of “developing” a Driver in your 2nd team for 4 years only to give the promotion to the guy who hasn’t finished a full year? Lawsons performances were nowhere near Verstappens in the TR in 2015/16. Don’t RB want a driver who is experienced enough and who is considered a veteran compared to the new Drivers coming in to that that seat? The Honda question becomes irrelevant, they have said they are happy to let Yuki go to RB when they leave their arrangement. Yuki has become a popular driver from a marketable region in the world. Of course there’s unknowns and either Lawson or Yuki can turn into a Gasly 2019 or Albon 2020. But what’s the point of having the 2nd team if you are hesitant to promote the next guy up?
@bigsmooshflopdong3323 күн бұрын
Because Lawson only has 11 races with the team and is showing to be fairly close to Yuki who's been there for 4 years with 87 races. One would have to assume Lawson has more room to grow than Yuki. Also don't think Yuki has had a fully consistent season in 4 years with the team, and consistency is exactly what redbull needs. Perez has already been wildly inconsistent this year. If Lawson doesn't perform Redbull will just as easily replace him as well, examples being Gasly and Albon.
@alsolaniccal23 күн бұрын
@@bigsmooshflopdong33 And indeed if Lawson doesn't perform, they will replace him with Yuki. No shot Hadjar gets the seat. So in this case, why not let Liam marinate a bit more and give Yuki the chance to prove himself at the top team. They can always swap drivers, but you go with your experienced hand for stability here.
@bigsmooshflopdong3323 күн бұрын
@@alsolaniccal Because of how close Lawson is Yuki already. After 4 years Yuki still hasn't hit the benchmarks he needs. While Lawson is definitely a gamble, it's potentially a gamble worth the risk, especially with the late decision and very limited driver options. After 4 seasons there still isn't enough consistency from Yuki, and after 4 years in the sport how much more growth does one expect to see from Yuki? With Lawson there is at least some promise of him being able to grow more with more with each race weekend. It's a risk for sure, but with Yuki there is no risk at all, by which I mean they already know exactly what they would get with him in the car, they have 4 years of data and that's not been enough. There's also the whole Honda factor, which feels like the whole reason he is even there currently.

He's had his 13 years, he was nearly out in 2020 but got very lucky with the redbull contract and couldn't make that work. It's pretty unlikely he finds a new seat, especially with the new wave of younger drivers coming in. Probably a different series if he even continues to race at all.

Haas lost a massive opportunity by signing Ocon as early as they did. Checo would be a great fit financially (sponsors + mexican-american fans) and racing-experience-wise.

Naw, Hulkenberg - Bearman is perfect for Haas, you got Hulkenberg that proven to be really good on that team, and Bearman to secure link to Ferrari, plus, Haas now has partnership with Toyota, so they ain't really a cash strapped team anymore.

@drmaulana2600 Hülk is going to Sauber-Audi. Ocon is the one coming in to fill his seat... And I think Checo would be better at it

Nah Ocon is better option and not washed

Why did they wait so long to sack him? Oh yeah. Becoz Max really likes not racing seriuous challengers who can actually beat him in equal machinery. Max please do prove me wong about this. Bet you won't. Verstappen is a coward.

To all those saying Liam Lawson doesn't deserve it, I'll reserve judgement till we're ten races in next year, then we'll know whether he deserved it or not.
@bryyyzy9123 күн бұрын
He needed to go 18mths ago and not dragging the pain out until now. He has dragged Red Bull down and will always be remembered for being a mid driver in a top team.

All the talk about Max not wanting Carlos Sainz as a teammate is a total joke. There isn't a single driver on the grid who could finish a season within 100 points of Max in the same car.

I’m actually proud of myself that I didn’t get deterred by the obvious bias you have against Checo and the fact that you don’t really like him and still saw this video. I needed that. We need to be receptive to different opinions and not be hateful all the bloody time. Hopefully, we will have other things to talk about now.

As a Australian I vote put ricciardo in the seat for the year and see what yuki and Lawson do.

Liam is not even near Checo… enjoy, no Latin American drivers, I do hope we all loose interests in the sport that only supports English and European drivers… enjoyed watching you but not any more

Checo cost the team constructors championship hellooo You are only good as you're last race.🤷🙄

YOU don't actually know what are "waffling" on about tommo? Do you ..... hmmm .... did Cheko win an actual (real race?) or was he just a back up in case a mechanical malfunction caused Max an issue ? You've no idea at all, I like your content most of the time, but your theories behind it are VERY suspect. Keep it up but think about the content you provide to the audience, it needs some thought/work.

Tommo do you think Liam can do a better job than checo? If so what should we except from HIM?🤔🤔🫡🫡
