Apologies for the shaky cam, I was experimenting with a different recording setup for this video - which worked in theory, but the face cam wasn't stable, and I didn't realise until editing.
So this is the highest requested case on my channel, which I've been avoiding because I didn't really like the look of it. But the Mesh version is much more appealing, and having actually bought one and built in it now, I've completely changed my mind!

Been pointed out to me that the vertical cable cover I found to be very stuffy _is_ removable. The whole plate it sits on can unscrew and be inverted to move it further away 👍 Additionally, the Type-C front panel connector and hot-swap HDD bays are actually available to buy - so that takes care of my other niggles with this case!

Removable and reversible also. For my motherboard, I found it easier to flip it to get a better cable position for the 24 pin. Overall I really like my Lancool 2 Mesh (non RGB).

@@ChrisMag100 I purchased mine (White RGB) the same day on Newegg for $113.75 and as a bonus the seller included the USB-C cable. Also for Adam, the smaller cover on the back underneath the main cover is for sticking on an RGB controller. When I got my case, whoever built it when gorilla tight on all the screws and the PSU covers were all so tight I stripped some of the screws. I have a 360 RAD with custom water cooling and Push/Pull fans, but I couldn't install the bottom inside fan because I completely stripped the screw on the cover and it's stuck down. However I did manage to install the extra fan under the middle fan cover on the PSU shroud, despite that it's meant to go on top, but I have a Phanteks Vertical GPU Bracket, so it sits on that plate.

Scott I agree about the use of stickers on those panels but, in addittion you can go as far as having them custom painted, I'm currently building in the white case and may have those two panels painted white with a peelable paint for easy modding changes later on ;)

So many issues to take exception to with this review. I am glad your conclusion was that you generally liked the case or I would have written more. However here's a few - what do you mean that the motherboard plate isn't removable or adjustable ? Yes it is - you can take it out or turn it 180 degrees to provide more clearance depending on the motherboard ATX or Micro ATX you are using. It's in the manual. You can also remove that drive tray altogether which because you said you aren't using hard drives would have made more sense giving you much more cable room from the power supply. And you said you zip tied the power cable to the case before you started plugging it in which probably made it difficult to get enough slack through to the motherboard. Why zip tie anything until you are done ? Also why not use needle nose pliers to deal with snug connections is another simple suggestion rather than risk damaging the USB pins by brute-force wobbling it violently side to side like that to remove it - personally I'd rather have the cable connections firmly attached than slack enough to easily pop off the pins. As for "slight bit of crush there" with the cable cover a bit of the crush was because you closed the first cover plate and caught a couple of cables between the cover plate and the rear of the motherboard base. And top mount AIO ? Yes you can but it looks like you are drawing warm air up through the radiator and that will increase CPU temps.

Hello Adamant IT, today is July 7, 2023. I decided to pull my LANCOOL II Mesh out of moth balls that sat for 2 years while at the same time touch up on a few problems I ran into using this case. First, I used your video as a reference guide, so I have nothing but praise to you and your video and the effort making it, Thank You! I always reffered to this case as a 16 inch concrete masonry block, its so "d**n heavy with nothing in it. I always said as you mentioned it really doesn't need the back glass door, so it's double glass doors along with it's wiring shrouds make this case extremly heavy. Also it's 3.5" mechanical hard drive bays are plastic causing any hard drive installed in them to overheat . And the wiring, good grief that's going to be a project, if I reuse this case. I also hate to purchase a Lian-li USB type C adapter, they sell on Amazon today for $26.00 US plus tax and shipping, so that's going to be around total cost of about $35.00 US. It seems to be an expensive or time laden burden using Lancool 2. On the other hand , NewEgg has a sale on a few Fractal Design cases Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB Black ATX mATX Mini ITX Clear Tinted Tempered Glass Mid Tower $39.99 and more at prices very reasonable. I also have to mention may of the Fractal cases show a USB type C as an optional add-on. I did however but a Fractal Torrent that came with USB type C up front @ $109.99 US. Anyway I would like to say I clicked "Liked", "Subscribed and hit the "Bell" to get all your videos. Well Adios for now pardner see you on the next one.

I've got three power panel cables left over. I've got the Lian Li ii mesh C Performance case, and I can't get my case fans to work. I read that I'm supposed to connect one of the power panel cables to the Syst Fan 1 jump box (?) near the CPU Fan jump box (right name for it's plug in on the MOBO?) Do you have a video specifically addressing the power panel cables from the power panel for it? Thanks!

I do understand your review is about 2 years old but the drive bays are hot swappable and the LEDs for the drives work fine. The LEDs are at the back of the caddy and when you had it flipped it over there are clear plastic strips that channel the light from the LEDs in the back to the front. A bit silly as the whole bay is hidden by the door, but it does work fine. I used this case to build my system when it was released and I've made many upgrades over the last two years and I've been quite happy with it. The only thing I'm not happy with is the interior is black, not white. The newer LIan Li white cases also have a white interiors. I also added the USB-C cable to the front IO.

PSU ORIENTATION I don't undertand your preference for having the PSU intake fan "up" , as that would be pulling relatively warm air from inside the case, reducing the PSU fan's cooling efficiency. (and it won't draw much external air, being at a right angle to the mesh 'basement' door). Having the fan 'down' isolates the PSU air intake to cooling the PSU exclusively (drawing from underneath the case), rather than acting as an additional but inefficient exhaust for the case. Furthermore the 'up' PSU fan would also be 'pulling' against the GPU intake fan airflow, while also pulling relatively hot air from the GPU cooling fins (I suppose that could 'even-out' but the result is still inefficient). My LanCool II Mesh RGB Fan Set-Up. I have the PSU intake fan 'down', as the case design demands, so it has an exclusive, 'cool' ambient air supply from underneath the case. The PSU of course blocks the rear-most 'basement' fan location option. I have three hard disks in the drive cage, which are cooled somewhat by the lowest of the front intake fans which also means that airflow picls up heat from the disks and gets pushed towards the GPU intake fans. ~~~Come to think of it, I should fashion an angled barrier between the HDDs and the PSU to deflect that warmed air sideways through the basement mesh door. ~~~ Between the PSU and the HDD cage there is still a location for a fan. I installed a Coolermaster SickleFlow 120 there, because it provides an impressive 62CFM, so it will draw directly from underneath the case ( and idrectly from the mesh basement side panel) and push that air into at least one of the two intake fans on my GPU. Exhaust is handled by 1 rear-mounted and two top-mounted 47CFM 120mm CoolerMaster Halo Duos. SickleFlow fans would be much better, but I was seduced by their RGB style. The three included 120MM front fans move 49 CFM each. Airflow from the lowest fan is significantly hampered by the HDDs and the PSU wiring behind it, while the mid and upper front fans push air over the center of the motherboard and the RAM/CPU respectively. Assuming that component obstruction and turbulence cut the front intake CFM in half (it could be more? I don't know) while the exhaust fans are less obstructed ( and only have outside air to push against) this setup should be exhausting warm air much faster than cool air is being delivered, creating a relative suction effect. My Ryzen 9 3900X has the stock RGB Wraith cooler because that saved me a few $$ to spend elswhere in my build, all reports said it was up to the task and I'm not bothered about overclocking...but given how cool and quiet my system runs at the moment, I'm thinking I might be able to manage a useful OC without having to spend on an AIO. ETC. I decided on this case after watching Gamers' Nexus review. I paid $105 +$15 for shipping ( March 2021). That made it a little pricey compared to previous cases (and some other contemporary competitors) but its high airflow efficiency, its discreet apperance and size and its clever, practical details and features were totally worth it. I especially appreciated the flexibility in cable management it provides ( my previous system was in a NZXT 540 Full Tower, about 6" taller and deeper, and yet the Lian Li was much easier to work inside because it's internally a much smarter design). I will warn any prospective buyers of this case that the shipping packaging of the case is quite dodgy. When my unit arrived the box it came in looked cheap, and was cheap, but otherwise appeared intact ( just minor edge 'dings' and a bit of grime on the outside. HOWEVER, the the front polysterene foam molding had broken at the lower front corners, and I found that the a) bottom of the front panel had cracked, b) the plastic bottom left front panel securing/locating post was mostly destroyed, and c) the threaded thumbscrew post for the vertical wiring cover panel was bent and almost sheared. My guess is that the unit was dropped heavily but 'neatly' onto its front bottom edge during handling. I could have RMA'd but as I'm handy and have tools, I was able to fix both problems and avoided delaying my build. It's such a great case with obvious high-demand potential, its ridiculous.that Lian Li cheaped out on the packaging, risking returns due to shipping damage from inadequate protection.

Review was Good but not researched thoroughly. The HDD bays can be made hot swap able with a $15 kit Lian Li sells specifically for this case, as well as a type C kit & an LED strip kit. These were sold separately to reduce initial cost of the case for frills some people wouldn't want. The expand ability of this case is great as are the Thermal properties of it's design, it's the reason this case is still in the top of the charts for room, cable management and thermals. The newer Lancool II Mesh C has that Type C plate already installed but it's the same case and can be upgraded with aforementioned kits from Lian Li, at an $89.00 price point right now on sale you cannot beat this case. P.S You can get a separate non glass door from Lian Li and use the 2nd glass door as a spare should the 1st break, which is what I did. This is the 1st case I owned that I feel doesn't need replacing for any reason each new year of case launches, even the 216 and the Lancool III weren't enough value to consider changing it out.

"Type C is expensive" ? What are we talking - an extra dollar for a company like Lian Li to fit into the case and include fitted in the case to start with as they should have done ? In Australia to buy as an accessory is $ 25 AUD (plus freight). Just a money making scam.

Rebuilt my Core I7 4790k rig in one of these with the Galahad 360 AOI. You were right that making a computer pretty kind of matters. First time I've had a pretty one since my last mac pro (cheese grater). Added the USB C cable, a board to drive it, and the hot swap backplane (which comes with the LEDs and light guides that light up the led holes in the sleds.) I wired the power light to the drive activity line on the motherboard as you suggested. Works nicely.

Having a hole with a plug on the top panel is stupid. They want you to spend more money to get a USB C port and install it. More funds for their pockets. Not that expensive (probably cheap) for Lian Li to just install it in the first place. If a person not want or need that port, they could just get a case from them that does not have it or the hole. Or they could still get the case with it already installed and use it when they finally need it. They cetainly dropped the ball with that stupid hole with plug.

I don't get why the manufacturers make the cases so small. You obviously need more room to work your hands inside there. And the other major thing is that there is no need for 3 ventilators on the front. The bottom part of the case could be closed from the front (sealed) and on that space it could accomodate the hard disc slots and as for the space next to it there could have been a couple of slots for ssds so the cables of the AC/DC cables would have some more space. Also yeah the back windon is useless and rises the costs. Without the window there would be no need for those covers either that take up precious cable space. . But thatnks for the video. Of all the similar videos out there about this case this one was the most enlighning! Great job there!

Still in process of watching the full review however a few comments on my Lancool II Mesh. I got mine last year when they were first being reviewed. After initially getting a original LanCool II(non mesh). I got mine through Newegg for only $90.00. However mine actually came with the USB-C connector which you installed yourself. I had to order the USB-C connector separately with the LanCool II non mesh. I wanna say it's like a $20.00 option. The one thing that I don't care for with these Lancool II cases is their weight. Of course when he gets free stuff to "review" he will never say no that he not like something about it. Uses the word "nitpicking" so that he will not sound like he not like it. If the company that sent the free item heard that he not like it, there is a good chance they not send anything free again to "review." How can the rest of us get so lucky to get items to "review"? And then after never have to return it? I have seen many a so called "review" of many items on KZbin where the person always finds a way to never say that they do not like the item or something with it. If they did, they would not get anything free again to review. Seems like he is triyng to convince them to send him more free stuff at the end.

My brother and I moved/upgraded his computer using this case a few weeks ago. He had a lot of 2.5 inch drives to carry over so we ended up using a mount on the lower door. It was easy enough to mount and the cables tucked behind the power supply pretty easily. The version of the case he purchased included the Type-C port on the front I/O which is much nicer than the empty hole with a grommet. We were unable to fit the GPU support bracket that came with the Gigabyte 4070ti, because of the raised part of the cable shroud where the 24 pin would be routed, but luckily that particular card didn't seem to sag. Had we flipped the vertical cable shroud to the EATX configuration, I think the included bracket could have worked regardless. Our next challenge will be to change out some fans to integrate into the Corsair controller. Overall we both liked the case. I liked this case and I thought this video did a great job at covering all of the features and potential issues.

It was because of the USB-C Blank that I decided to buy the 4000X instead - the 4000X being £104.62 when I bought it a couple of months ago...... For me it was a deal-breaker. That and I really like the Corsair Elite Fans and Icue Software already having the 5000X as my main rig. Oh, and just for a matter of interest I still have my working 8 year old Cooler Master HAF-X in original condition other than now having a B450 MB and a R5/3600 CPU. But I still have my old Sapphire HD7850 GPU that does just fine as a stand-by computer..... I really like your Videos even though I have only subscribed and watched for the last few weeks! Thanks! A year late but I just built a new PC with this case. The price is excellent and is really easy to work with. The fans are pretty good - though DC not PWM. However, as case fans really don't need to be on a fancy curve, I'm fine with it (I keep them at 50%). I put a 360 AIO for the CPU in the front and moved the 3 built in fans to the bottom and rear as intakes. My top is a GPU 240 AIO exhaust. The airflow is excellent. The fan RGB controller buttons on the top are kind of a waste as most people plug into the MB directly (I did). I really like that the case can be set to passthrough argb fan control to the MB via the mode button as you showed. The 2 doors in the back of the MB give you access to the CPU backplate for re-mounting so you don't have to remove your MB if you change the CPU later (or forgot to do it before mounting the MB - I definitely didn't do that, nope). Really love this case, it's the best I've owned.

19:46 yup... my cables' are completely chewed up because of Phantek's tiny openings. It took me 15 minutes of careful prying to get it through without completely obliterating the cables on the Phanteks PSU that is meant to go with the case......... (Phanteks Evolv X) Phanteks does a lot of stuff right, but there are some huge oversights, at least with that case...

Good vid mate, yet I believe that you could've covered Lian Li's Lancool II add ons that work with this case a little better, because as with their hot swappable HDD drives add on it makes those trays take on a whole new level of usefulness. BTW I'll admit I am a bit biased towards the Lancool II cases as I've now built 4 rigs in them=2 in the original & 2 in the Mesh models (I have an example vid of one on my YT channel so please feel free to go check it out) and there are some modularity things that you would better realize once you've built in them a few more times like I have...FYI I bought all of mine at their MSRP launch prices thus $89-$105 which made them all the "Best Bang for Your Buck" options IMO ;)

Black performance variant has 3 pwm fans and front panel is different( instead of rgb you can set fans low medium and high even tho plugged in to the motherboard or in the pwm spliter that it has extra) got my one for airflow as i am not into rgb. I agree that even if i did not thought initially is that good except airflow building into one just growed on me... Found my one for 96£ and was actually cheaper than argb by5£.

I purchased all the optional extras for my lancool II non mesh...the led strip...the hot swap back plate...a Lian Li graphics card anti sag bracket and the USB C optional extra, all were easy to fit. I also took the 24pin atx cable out the front side of the "bar" and looped it over the top and used some custom braided cables with integrated cable combs. Door no.3 is for mounting a fan or led hub.

With regards to AIO fitment I believe JayzTwoCents found that if you have a RTX 30xx FE you get reduced temperatures if you have the AIO on the front.

I'm very much looking forward to any RGB tutorials and tips you might have! I'm well versed with buildings computers at this point, but RGB is a black art to me, not helped by the fact that there's no proper tutorials on KZbin from what I can tell. Only basic information that doesn't actually help.

I have this case in black, personally i think it really easy to build in I've things and out multiple times to change out parts, its easy to hide wires, the only thing id say is its a large case so if you not water cooling etc there is a lot of empty space in the case, the UBS C port is an optional extra thing its about £20,

My issue with having ports on the top is that they get filled with dust over time. I wish they would include port plugs, or some type of sliding mechanism to keep the ports covered.
