Man... I can imagine how many people are going to post this same comment in the coming weeks. When your PC communicates with your router using WiFi, there is no network cable attached between your router and your PC. Your router and PC are still plugged in to a cable to receive power, because electronic devices need power to turn on. Same thing here... now, the Strimer cable simply connects from your PSU cable to your motherboard or GPU... no extra wire connecting from the Strimer cable to the Lian-Li controller... that is the "wireless" part.

My only real complaint about all the different RGB components is that they all seem to require their own software. It’s kinda annoying to have to use 3-4 different software to try and sync/coordinate the RGB lighting across the case. My Corsair AIO and fans all use iCUE; mobo requires Asus Armoury Crate (but thankfully can be controlled by iCUE); my graphics card requires Firestorm; my speakers require Logitech G-Hub, now I need L-Connect for Strimer cables. I wish all of these RGB manufacturers would allow software controls through one main software so I don’t have to screw around with 4 or 5 places whenever I want to mess around with different colors and effects

technically what you are asking for is that all of these manufacturers add support for the ARGB motherboard wiring standard. and also integrate control of any ARGB component that is using this standard and connected to your PC to their software. this will never happen, because that's technically how ARGB fans initially started, everyone was initially selling their fans which used to use ARGB motherboard connectors. then came the likes of Corsair and Lian-Li with their own locked ecosystems and most of the other manufacturers followed suit. i don't quite understand why would you need RGB in your speakers? that kind of sounds dumb in my opinion but i digress. if your GPU requires firestorm then next time just buy an ASUS graphics card - they support ARGB control from your motherboard's software (which would also make them work with iCUE) in the current PC market state if you truly want to minimize multiple software reliability you kinda need to use Asus mobos, Asus GPU's (or GPU's without any RGB on them), Corsair iCUE Link ecosystem, and even the Lian-Li striders have a Corsair Alternative, though i think for the Lian-Li strimers its probably still worth it to have L-Connect with the strimers, the Corsair iCUE Alternative kinda sucks and for Keyboard and Mouse, again just use Corsair keyboards and mouse - that would save you more software clutter. i know this sounds like a Corsair advertisement lol, but i'm only saying this if you're into a minimalistic cable ecosystem for your AIO+Case fans (only Lian-Li and Corsair have minimalistic cable ecosystems, and Corsair is superior to Lian-Li when it comes to significantly less cables and much better integration, at least in my opinion)
@larrycampbell61333 ай бұрын
@@HoLDoN4Sec you literally acknowledged my complaint, and then stated that the resolution is to buy all of your products under 1 brand as a solution. While what I am complaining about is that there needs to be more universal-compatible in the software component; which would allow builders more flexibility and creativity without being anchored to one brand and save the fuss of screwing with multiple software products as well. The majority of my build happens to be Corsair - Case 6500D Airflow, icue Link AIO and fans throughout, keyboard, mouse, headset, and mat. I’m also not trying to advertise Corsair, because their product prices have gotten ridiculous, I am still a fan of their products. As for the speakers, I bought the Logitech G560 because I liked the sound of them. But they happen to also have RGB, which was a nice little additional feature; but again, requires a different software. My Samsung ultra-wide monitor also has RGB backlighting - which again, different mode of changing that color. My point remains the same - unless you live under one brand, you require so many different software products to coordinate it all that it becomes cumbersome to develop different profiles. If Windows OS is compatible with all of these other products, then why can’t there be a better means of software development that makes all of the RGB more compatible - even if it has to be through the Windows OS itself? Someone building a PC shouldn’t have to feel like they NEED to spend more money on one brand over another for 2 similar products just so they can have simplicity on the software side of life. That’s my point! I didn’t buy an ASUS graphics card because it was $100 more than the 4070 Super that I did end up buying - another great example of “why should a user have to spend more just to get a software simplification?”
@HoLDoN4Sec3 ай бұрын
@@larrycampbell6133 yes i know what route i went to lol if you read what i said, i said initially all of the ARGB products used to work under the same ARGB motherboard standard, then companies like Corsair and Lian-Li started locking you out of the ability to still use RGB devices with the default motherboard ARGB standard. so what i said is that what you are asking is technically how it all began so its just not going to be happening anytime soon, or anymore to be more precise so yeah, for your requirement (and i guess mine as well) if you really want to minimize the amount of software clutter you just can't avoid having to buy all of your peripherals from a single brand, or two different brands (such as Asus and Corsair) only. it sucks i know, but that's just how the world works, its called capitalism. and yeah you are definitely on point when it comes to Corsair, their products are excellent but their pricing strategy in recent years is abysmal. and ASUS has put themselves into the same direction as Corsair by spiking their pricing after EVGA has left the market. as for external PC peripherals, it honestly really depends on what type of lightning you're going with, in my case i got an Alienware Ultrawide and i set its color scheme once when i got it 3 years ago and didn't really need to touch it since, as for speakers welp, idk i don't find an appeal of having too much RGB in my face when i'm on my PC, its just distracting really, but to each their own i guess. i've had logitech's z906's for the last couple of years and never had any sort of need or requirement to use any proprietary software to tune them. so if you have to use Logitech's piss poor G-HUB software just to control your speaker's RGB and configuration that's just fucked up man, i would've never bought such speakers if they had to rely on proprietary software for basic adjustments like that for SPEAKERS, so that one is on you unfortunately.
@larrycampbell61333 ай бұрын
@@HoLDoN4Sec I appreciate the clarification Surprisingly, the RGB from the speakers work really well. My monitor is one of the Samsung ultra-wide curved monitors; so there’s a ton of space behind the “wings” of the monitor to the wall - and these speakers add a nice lighting effect to that empty space. It’s RGB backlight on the wall, so it doesn’t slap you in the face with color or brightness

Hi- I currently have two V2 Non-Wireless Strimers setup in my system, and will be upgrading from an RTX 3060 to the 5080 when it comes out. With that in mind, seems I will need a new power cable/connector for the new GPU. Curious if I can somehow use the existing GPU strimer and just swap out the underlying power extender for the 12V-2x6 for the new GPU. Or, should I purchase the new wireless which has this connection already tied in then connect the power to the 3 8pin PCIe cables on the PSU - , but can I plug the new controller into the existing non-wireless v2 Strimer controller rather than the USB-A?
