This was a LOVELY video to go along with the LOVELY song. Your grandma lives on in your heart. I also lost a wonderful one on the day after Christmas in 1980. She was in her late 80's and lived a long and wonderful life unlike my dear Uncle Ronnie who was only 17 when he died in 1955. I was only 2 and sadly, never got to know my beloved uncle who I will forever love and miss. Life is not always fair as some live long lives and others do not. 😭

I nominate this song in memory of my wonderful father who I miss very dearly who died in 2007 from cancer. I always think about him when I'm alone in my bedroom late at night and listening to beautiful and sad haunting songs like this by Michael Horncastle from Libera. I still live with my mum but she suffers from dementia and is hard of hearing. So I often live a solitary life. Miss you so much dad!! 😢 I often want to join my dad who I had a strong bond with. I struggle a lot looking after my mum who has become quite a burden these days. But I do love her very much, even though she cannot do much for herself. So I find solace listening to my favourite music. I don't think I could live without music. I'd love to have this song played at my funeral. 😞

This was my grandmother's favorite song before she passed. We even played it at her funeral back in 2009.

My Grandfather loved this song. I decided to re-enlist in 1991. I was walking back to the base from the train station after telling my family of this decision and as I passed an old record store I heard this song being played. I believed then and to the present, that he was signaling his approval. I retired in June 2001 after 21 years and 8 months in the US Navy. My grandfather had served 32 years in the Navy, from 1918 to 1950. Three of those years were spent as a Japanese prisoner of war after being captured at Fort Mills, Corregidor. He and my grandmother taught me a lot about being strong in spirit and about faith in God.

Thanks for the lovely video. I've viewed it many times. I love classical music and tend to quieter pieces such as the largo 2nd movement of the 9th by Dvorak. I enjoyed the images you used. Your grandmother must have been quite special to you as mine was to me. We were close and I still think of her every day although she's been gone for 20 years. She lived to be almost 103 and was the type of person we should all strive to be. Some day when my time comes I will be lain to rest next to her and have already placed my marker there to make sure that is where I end up. Of course hopefully not for a long time. :D. I visited your grandmother's virtual memorial at Find A Grave where I am a contributor and left her a virtual flower and note. Mine is the only tribute there. You can visit and join for one day and leave her a tribute. Just go to the site and use the general graves search with her full first and last name and she will appear on the search list. There are some images there too. Once again thanks for the nice video. Very soothing and images which bring to mind wonderful memories of my upbringing here in rural Kansas.

Wow what a beautiful song, It reminds me of my lovely grandmother. She disappeared on Christmas eve 2015 and never returned home. :( . A year has passed and after days of searching for her through out the year, we get a call that a body was found...dna results say it was my grandmother's remains. Though I didn't know her I followed her struggle against Breast Cancer, Peppermint Paddy (screen name). Breast cancer took the young mothers life at 1:30 am, Sept 27th. May she rest in peace and her broken body fall away but her brave soul will continue forever and be with our Lord. My wife is also struggling with this deadly disease, though her situation seems to be more promising, however it won't last forever. I fear the day when nothing works against this evil disease.
