Glad you got it. In looking at some of the other Honda installs it looks like the PCV valve hose is routed to the exhaust. In a car it would be routed back to the intake near the TBI. The valve relies on negative pressure to keep crankcase pressures from fluctuating and to burn unspent fuel emissions. Might try just leaving the hose off the muffler if your oil seepage persists.

Harbor Freight sells another tester that has an M14 fitting on the hose and you don’t need one of the adapters.

Happened to me. All I had to do was blow air into the adapter that put pressure on the adapter as I simultaneously unscrewed it. Sounds crazy I know but the back pressure was enough to engage the threads and to unscrew it. Looks like your method worked too.

Your method crossed my mind for a moment. My thought was, I needed to engage the starter as I tried to unscrew the adapter. My arms were not long enough😂. I wonder if just having the hose pressurized would be enough? Run a test and don’t release the pressure from the dial…
